Direct replacement for Traxxas

Was precisely what I was looking for. On my 3, I noticed a small puff of smoke coming from the ez start motor. I knew it was over after three slayers. I wouldn't recommend this for small children because replacing the actual motor required a lot of disassembly versus replacing the entire starting assembly for $20 more. For instance, for my pull start 2, I purchased a $30 full ez start system. It took 5 rustlers and 10 minutes to complete the swap. It took me about two hours to replace just the starter motor on my Traxxas Slayer.

This was purchased to replace an older one that had failed after a few years of service. I only used it twice before it broke down, so it wasn't very long-lasting, but it did the job. That's why I gave it three out of five stars.

I wish someone else made one with better windings and brushes. the second time around Doesn't Traxxass realize that this is right next to the cooling head?.

The flexible brush holder on this motor has shown to be a problem. A mechanical bend has been stamped into the holder to create a bend. The material hardens as a result of this work, and it becomes brittle at that point. At this point, I've broken two motors. I informed Traxxas about the issue, and they promptly replaced one of the motors. I've had great luck with subsequent motors since the two units that broke.
