This is a great battery charger. I have had it for about 2 months and I love it. I totally disagree with all the people saying it only charges Traxxas batteries. Once you remove the Traxxas thing next to the battery plug in, you have to connect all the wires. After a few seconds, you will hear a beep. Next, choose your battery type and rate of charging and hold the start button for a few seconds. This charger has been used to charge a duratrax, venom, and smc battery.
There's nothing worse than buying a great toy but finding out the batteries have died. In addition to a new Traxxas Stampede for our son, a few batteries and this charger, I also ordered these parts. Using the charger, we can run down 5800mAh LiPo batteries much faster than we can charge them. I love how easy to use this product is, and how quiet it is. Because it has not been necessary, we have not experimented with any additional features such as the rate of charge or the high output. Both batteries were charged and one was run until it wore out. the first battery on charge, and it will be ready long before the second battery runs out.

This is a great quality product. I'm amazed at how bright those lights are. To test its durability will have to wait and see if it holds up well. It was very easy for me to follow the instructions since I am an adult. With Traxxas ID batteries, the initial setup and charging went smoothly. This method of charging and discharging my battery is appealing to me. Was I not clear about the brightness of the lights? This is a really easy site to use, which is definitely a plus in Traxxas makes a nice product. These people are great to deal with. I'd buy from them.
After receiving this charger yesterday, I immediately smelled a burning smell after plugging it in. When it is set to charge a 2S at 3 amp on balance charge or any setting for that matter, but after I hit start charge the fan kicks on, then I get a code for incorrect battery setting, then it stops again. On the left side through buttons work. I have been involved with RC (mainly traxxas) for 20+ years and I have never owned a traxxas item that failed right off the line.
It was a defective item and seller was horrible to deal with. Mike's Vac and Hobby is not to be trusted. The seller kept $60 even though I returned it because one side would not charge. An invoice was sent to 00 stating the use of the item. Exactly the opposite of what I'm looking for. My use of it was the only way I realized the product was defective, so I returned it the next day, so it was still brand new.
Since I bought this charger six months ago, I've used it just six times and now it no longer works on the right side. There is no response with either Lipo or NiMH Tranxxas batteries that I have tested. Moreover, the fan has issues when it is started up. The Traxxas Support was better than expected.
09/27/2016 I changed from one to three stars because I am very disappointed with this product. The following is my comment.
A package containing the Traxxas EZ-Glider has been delivered to me today Charge your phone at peak power. I plugged it in to the wall but it doesn't work. The charger will be returned and a new one will be tried.
