Since I have been in the model RC hobby for over 30 years, I can write from both the standpoint of a hobbyist AND from the standpoint of the As a consumer, your perspective is fairly straightforward The product should not be purchased. I ordered the first one at the beginning of April and though I ordered the red model, it was shipped the blue one. I had no concerns since the reviews I had read and watched in various media outlets were quite positive and the idea of a decent and affordable 6x6 intrigued me. My first observation on receiving the package was that the motor appeared misaligned with the frame and that it was crookedly mounted. I realized after a few minutes playing that the motor was dying as soon as the battery had been charged. There was clearly something amiss with the sound and it obviously needed to be replaced. motor, so I replaced it (it is interesting to note that there is an orange sticker saying "QC PASSED" on the skid plate you have to stare at while removing screws to find A motor mount plate is made of plastic, according to the technician. Due to two factors, this is problematic When motors get too hot, the plate can warp and cause misalignment of the motors, and if we do not take care when assembling the motor, the plate can warp too when the motor mount screws are too tight. The motor plates are usually made of steel or aluminum. For the majority of people, this would be a reason for a return, refund, or replacement. As a result of the truck appearing to function better, I ordered a second one in red for myself. My 2 1/2 year old son was very excited to adopt this truck. When I opened the package and found that one of the axle shock mounts had snapped, I realized that one of the axle link mounts was broken. RC had a similar packaging issue, but Amazon's packaging was not damaged, so it appears someone got a little über-excited when packaging. The item was returned for a full refund without a doubt. As luck would have it, two days before the second RC arrived, the first one once again chewed up its motor and its time to be replaced. The next time it dies, I'm not going to replace it, so it will be gone for good. As far as I know, some parts are compatible with the Hobby Plus CR18, so there is some aftermarket support, but in all cases, fundamental design flaws cannot be rectified by the aftermarket. Overall, the crawling and articulated abilities of the rig are quite impressive for such a small one, which makes the issues that much In our back yard there is a small wooden log course and this rig can traverse it with no issue. it doesn't have the best throttle control for a crawler, the fact this only costs around $150 is significant In contrast, Axial offers throttle control with impressive performance on their small scale SCX24 model and costs under $140 depending on the At the end of the day, this is a good attempt at a ready-made Running a niche product that no one else has done at this scale is an astounding feat but, unfortunately, the product's quality and design flaws hold it A new company could buy the rights to this and improve a few small items, making this a game changer in the mini RC crawler market. You might as well save your money and your sanity up to then. I'll edit this since it changes the wording
Below are pictures of the broken axle/link mount that came with the second one I.
The box itself is very nice and can be used to store anything I want when not in use, or as a gift for anyone who is into RCs (or for myself! There were all of the necessary hardware and instructions included in the box, along with everything else. There are 6 tires included on the vehicle, and an actual working spare tire is included on the back if anything needs to be replaced. It is really nice to see the front and rear LEDs working together as a pair. Now let's talk about the abilities of the crawler. It does a really great job climbing hard-packed terrain (think of a hill covered in grass), and is okay with looser stuff like rocks, but how it does on hard-packed terrain is definitely impressive. A waterproof gearbox allows you to drive through shallow water with this truck, where the gearbox is waterproof. Submerging it is definitely not a good idea! There is a great balance between torque and wheel speed, which enables it to reach heights it cannot climb with other RC cars.
This truck is okay, but not sturdy enough for the job. It has also extremely little power for a truck with six wheels. A low-power engine which was going at a snail's pace still managed to twist a driveshaft to the point of snapping. I epoxy-glued it back together and it now works better but I would recommend getting a metal driveshaft and an even bigger motor for this rig. In all other areas, the quality is good. It's pretty easy to modulate the throttle. I suppose the tires do provide low traction, but since they were designed based on the actual truck I suppose it is realistic. If you want to use this for driving through mud or puddles, it's only the trail truck. Don't try to climb mountains with it. A second panda hobby tetra would have been a better investment if I had the money to do it a second time. Considering the same price or less, it is a much better overall truck, just not a true 6x6, but that's fine because the Atlas
is too long, so it gets stuck way too easily even at its 6x6 size.
In terms of value for money, it is mediocre. Despite its slow top-speed, it has a slow bottom-speed It is not only slower at the end, but also lacks low-speed components A slow top speed makes sense because of the torque at the ends of the transmission. As well as the turning radius, it is large. In contrast to most other crawlers in this market, there is no possibility of switching on/off the lights from the controller. The motor of this truck started humming after about 15 minutes of use, as though it had a bad bearing or bushing. Though it hasn't failed yet, I expect it to fail in the near future. In all seriousness, the only good thing about this truck is the 6-wheel traction it provides This vehicle has four-wheel drive. It climbs just about anything, so long as you don't go too far off camber, because tipping is a possibility. I think you'd be better off getting a Panda Tetra with this, since this thing isn't that bad. While there are some slow-moving aspects missing from the tetra This 6x6 does not have the speed control you want in a crawler, but it is still much more capable than this one.
The one you purchased allowed my son to create crawling tracks indoors because of its 1/18th scale size. It has six wheels, articulation on each wheel, and a great design which makes this one of the best climbing RC's on the market. Taking it to a stream bed and running it up and down a muddy creek blew me away one day after we took it out for a ride. The book is fantastic and I would recommend it I had such a great time. I would change only one thing I wish the lights were connected to the controller so they could be turned on and off, as some other remote controls do.
A little bummed to have just unboxed it. It looks to be a decent little rig, although I initially ordered the blue one and ended up with the red. It would be a good idea to upgrade the steering servo ESC/receiver and motor A remote location. I will post a video in the next day or two if you're interested in watching it.
