This kit has so far been used to build one Gundam model. In order to determine how well the items worked, I tried out as many of them as possible. Several tools were used the most -- a side cutter, a knife and a multi-grit sanding stick. My reason for purchasing this kit was that it came with both the battery powered rotary tool and the pin vise. A side cutter is a tool that is used to cut the sides of an object. My models have worked fine with these -- they cut right through the plastic without any problems. As a beginner, I was concerned about alignment when the blades arrived because they did not seem to line up, but a little pressure moved them into place, and I have never had a problem with alignment since then. The blade of a knife There is a weird part in that you need to hold the blade still as you tighten it. Just be sure to hold from the backside as you tighten. This item can be used without any problems. This yellow piece separator is for the yellow piece I was surprised at how helpful this was. When I tested fitting pieces together, this little thing allowed me to separate the pieces without damaging them. The course sanding stick is the go-to tool for smoothing grooves We are dealing with an extremely aggressive grit here. The tool will quickly cut a nub, then gouge the plastic piece in the process. It is recommended that you just use it to remove large chunks and stop well short of the goal, then switch to a finer grit sanding stick to finish the job off.

Multi-dimensional Grit Stick - This is the tool that has been used the most The mix of coarse grit, fine grit, and buffing makes it convenient to use. It is necessary to purchase additional sanding grits after one model as the grits wear out after one model. It is unlikely that I will be able to complete more than two or three models with the sticks mentioned in the kit. I didn't use the sanding sides of the polishing block very often because of the coarse grit sanding sides. It has a soft foam on the polishing side, which makes the pieces shine. During my model development, I used this less and less, so while it is nice, I'm not sure it is absolutely Several tools can be used to hold small parts in place, including tweezers. The ones with flat tips are the most commonly used by me. It would be ideal if I were to apply decals using an angle tip. Drill Bit Set - This drill set has a selection of small drill bits for your Pin Vise. In the feet of the model, I used them to drill out the holes for the jets. I did not get the chance to try the smallest size, because it was hard for it to bite into the plastic. Due to the different sizes of the drill bit I was able to drill two different size holes, all of the same - Implementing this tool for later modifications and simulated battle damage will be a more beneficial use. The only time I used it for sanding down nubs or small holes was because it required a steady hand to grind only the nub and avoid damaging the surrounding plastic. I look forward to experimenting with the variety of tips. Each tip has a unique use, and I am excited about trying them out. The metal files I tried were a bit of a disappointment for me. It is a coarse grit, very similar to those found in Too aggressive for fine removal. Good for bulk removal, not so good for fine removal. I was unable to cut the table because of the cutting mat. I was surprised at how thick and sturdy it was. As well, it did not stick to model cement and could be cleaned up easily. My screws are not damaged, so I didn't have to use any screwdrivers. An inch-long ruler with metric on one side and inches on the other. It supports both metric and imperial measurements.

There are some tools I didn't even realize I needed until I found them Purchase went well, and I am happy with it. It's a great mat - I highly recommend it This material withstands cuts very well. There were some tools I didn't know I needed until I did and then I already had them because this set was there and had the ability to use them. The soft white and gray nail file-looking things that are on the right side of the picture look a little strange. Would you wrap the sandpaper around them unless you have that in mind? It does not say what the white/gray things can be used for or what else they While most of the applications are obvious, there are a few that could have been helpful. However, the purchase was a great investment for me.

Usually, I replace some of my modeling tools about every 3 to 5 years The process has taken more than five years, and I have had to do that piecemeal in the past. Every tool is obtained from different vendors. The package is very useful, and with the tools already in my possession that I didn't need to replace, I was able to build a small set for work, where I also fabricate and build This is a great set of tools for builders who have not built before, as well as a solid base for beginners. The small portable rotating tool is the only item I have not used yet.

It would be better if the product was fully functional. This kit does not contain a battery-powered mini grinder. All of the other items can be used. All other devices work because they don't contain electronics. The grinder is defective and has been defective for some time. It was tested, and the battery holder (handle) appears to be charged, but the motor doesn't seem to be. I think this is most likely caused by a short circuit.

My purpose for purchasing this set was to do light hobby work and I thought it was fairly competent. As I was attempting to cut a zip tie, one of the blades snapped off during the fourth use of the nipper tool. There was a zip tie on the end of it, and it broke. For now, I'm giving it three stars. As we use the rest of the kit on lighter tasks, we will see how it performs.

I bought this product and I am very pleased with it. The instructions were easy to follow, and I was able to begin immediately. In fact, it had sandpaper in a variety of grits. No less than in full sheets. There was one of each of the following #350, #400, #600, and There is only one complaint I have about the drill that is battery operated. There was only one type of sanding head it could accept the one it came with. The drill is really not that big. It does have a hand drill, though, which makes it easy to use. I believe I could make an excellent paint stirrer out of it if I could find a shaft that is long enough and has the right diameter. Do not you think that one of those would be handy?.

Provides all the necessary resources for a rapid start. Although the parts aren't the highest quality, it's easy to replace them as you go and you'll know what you are going to use
Everything works good enough for the beginning gundam builder. However, the first thing I would replace is the xacto blades since they are so bad. As the blade slips off, it sticks to the floor. I like the mat and the nail filers and sand paper, though they're not as good as the mat.

As a beginner kit designer/builder, you want a kit that appears fully geared toward giving you the inventory of someone who does it as a bi-vocational job What do you do on a weekly basis? contains a vice drill, a (Nail) Dremel (which is more powerful than you would imagine), Side Cutting Pliers, multiple Exacto knife heads, and all the sand paper as well as fine grit soft stuff you require. I don't know, I think it's great for the cost, the SC pliers are a little soft for supposed iron/steel, and there is a finishing/sanding tool included. I bought it, and someone else bought it for me as well.
