All of the photos in this post were generated by a computer. This is not a photo of Photoshop, it is a demonstration of an area install. I could go on and on about all the things I've mentioned, including the lack of chain or drive on the overhead unit, no supports for the clearly small garage door, no electrical for the opener and more. Basically, they just wanted to illustrate how the tracks are used that some people may not think about. Yes, the tracks do work above the garage door when it's opened

Assuming you have to adjust one side to be longer than the other without knowing how steep the ceiling is, I assume you will need to change it so the slope is less steep. Two 2x4s were used on each side to mount my rack. Having it fastened to the ceiling joists in the garage made the task more convenient. As well as stiffening the unit, it also provided additional support. There is no other word for it.
As far as skill level is concerned, mine is moderate. I think it took me about 90 minutes to complete it. The most challenging part of installing a ceiling is finding your joists and orienting them where you want. don't usually write reviews, but these racks are great. They are somewhat expensive and take some time to assemble, but they are worth the money. My purpose in reviewing this product is to provide insight into how you can fix the durability issue. Other reviews have mentioned how time-consuming it is to find the ceiling joists. There will be some swaying with an object on a string or chain (creating that object lacks stability). Placing a piece of wood or two between the bottom part of the rack and the wall stud is a good idea. The wood should be screwed tight to the stud before the rack can be attached. You will be forced to stop moving forward/backward from this point forward/backward Side by side.

The shelves had been described as "shaky" in other reviews, but I did not experience that at all. I bought the shelves in the spring of 2018 and they were easy to install and As a result, the bolts were all tightened using a power impact gun, so it may be that I used that method. I'm extremely pleased with this product, which is well made. This kit had better hardware and materials than some of the kits I found at the local big box store. It can just as easily be laid across two ceiling joists with the mounting brackets for the ceiling. Additionally, if you were to use it parallel to the ceiling joists, both anchors would be in use at the same time. You can sometimes be given a small bracket, about 4 in long, by some big box store employees. There are just over 2 feet in length on this bracket. This kit gave me many options for designing the layout and holding it in place. The instructions are very clear and the mounting hardware is heavy duty so I didn't have to worry about it breaking. The installation process only takes a few minutes This is a man job until you have to attach the support shelf to the wall. In this case, you would need to have someone help you if you did not have another ladder to support the other side. The only part of the job that needs to be done by another person. This is a product I would highly recommend.
It's a good solid product. I must say, though, that it was not exactly easy to install and likely required more than one person. This product, however, is well worth the price!.
