I now turn to I ordered this (large) item in January, and it came 2 days earlier than the date stated at the time I placed the order. Typically, I wear an Xlarge shirt, and I have broad shoulders. Thus, I was hesitant to purchase the large. I am in perfect harmony with this shirt. I now turn to There is something funny about how people give 2 stars when they talk about the jacket being The welding is all I'm about as I'm a BOILERMAKER union guy. As a result of welding overhead, I have burned through leather sleeved jackets. In any case, pretty much. It's important to understand that this jacket looks good and it will hold up to welding just like any other jacket without Can overhead welding be done? You can upgrade your leathers if you spend an extra amount of money. If you are tube welding or using mig, you should take care to look good. Here's what you need to know.
It just arrived today, and I have not yet worn it, but I wanted to give you sizing and comfort information. In my case, I prefer to wear a sweatshirt in an XL size, as it gives me more comfort than anything else. My name is Jeff, I'm 5 feet tall In the 10th and 190th. The sizing information on the product page says it comes in medium and large, and I bought that size. It fits perfectly with a tee shirt. Despite my thinner clothing, I was still able to wear a light jacket underneath if necessary. There's not a lot of thickness to it, but that's not a bad thing. It will keep you cool, so you won't feel hot There is no harm in snapping - they are better than zippers. As soon as I find out if any problems arise while using it, I will update this post.
The jacket is cool and doesn't make you sweat too much, but it still offers great protection to keep you safe and protected by welding as you learn. I would recommend this jacket to anyone who is interested in welding.
I would highly recommend this jacket if you are doing light levels of mig or tig. It wouldn't be a good choice if you were looking for a jacket to do stick welding in. When I ran a couple stringers while wearing this, it burned through and gave me a nice burn. Apart from that, nothing much needs to be said. In a large, it fits great and is comfortable and practical. I wear a Large and I wear it well.
Could you please let me know what else I should My favorite part of this jacket is the zipper. Five feet eight inches tall and slightly chubby with broad shoulders, I weigh 165 pounds. Despite having a 45" chest circumference, it fits me well without feeling restrictive. It is light and does not add much heat. Furthermore, I work for an organization that promotes social welfare Place where there is ample ventilation. Sleeves extend to the glove area, and the length falls to the crotch level. My favorite feature of the collar is that it's not stiff, so it doesn't irritate me. It's kind of like a chef's coat when I wear it, my wife says. I love it. As far as I am aware, I have not encountered any sparks cutting through the material so far and it seems to be holding up quite well in harsh weather. Maybe I will purchase another one, in a different color, just in case I need it.
I am using this for the first time to do welding and metal work. I think it fits well (at least for me), medium is the right size. This sweater lets you cover your neck and arms in comfortable fashion and is easy to snap. The rest of the journey is made easier with good gloves. I'll say the fabric is quite rough from the factory, but after a wash it becomes softer and more comfortable. Moreover, cotton burns holes when it's hot, so anything boiling is going to harm it. As I was approaching the edge of the table, a few sparks got heated up and burnt. I didn't burn my shirt or my skin with it, so I think it worked as it should. Someday, perhaps when I become more involved in the hobby, I will opt for something heavier and more flameproof. My overall opinion is that this welding jacket is of very good quality for the price. The one I have now will wear out eventually, so I'll buy a new one.
At 5'9" and 145lbs, I find the small to be perfect for me. Looks like I went from amateur to pro in no time!.
It is very nice jacket but it is not for heavy duty welding. For that kind of work However, for hobbyists and those who might occasionally weld in their workplaces, this is a good Although I have used it at high amperage, it has held up just fine. The reason for only four stars is that the flames on the side are vinyl and can catch fire if care not taken and that after it has been washed 50 times it is no longer fire resistant. My belt has been used for 5 months off and on and it's showing signs of wearing out. There are brown spots all over the sleeves. I think I will be able to get at least 2 more months out of it before I have to replace it.
