My extended warranty is covered by the manufacturer's warranty but I don't have documentation that says that. A request to repair failed to get a response from the manufacturer after several attempts. It will not help either if you turn to Amazon. The last two months have been a struggle for me. It was a really terrible.
All in all, this is a nice hood, but bit pricey for the quality you're getting. This lens has a better field of view than my Lincoln/HF/or Kobalt. It's also more comfortable and easier to handle. A lighter touch. If cheaters are on other sites, they will not stay there for as long as they do The unit does consume batteries like candy, even when not in use, when I'm not even using it. I am not sure if it is just my unit or if they are all like this. The charge can be provided by a battery or solar charger for a better value (closer to price). Ensure that you have a stock of batteries & chargers As far as I'm concerned, it will suffice. Even scratch resistant can get scratched, so be careful how you set it down or prepare for having to wear many lens protectors while using it.
I have worn this hood while running pipe and have not experienced any neck fatigue while running out the bottom, unlike In terms of comfort, the hood can be worn for long periods of time thanks to its retention system. Id. In order to work with small weldings, you do not need proprietary magnifying lenses. Id. I have not experienced any issues with auto darkening in this headset, but if you're running the tig and get behind the arc, you will lose The hood has never been flashed on me while I've worn it. Id. A grind button on the hood is awesome I love it -) There are multiple touch presets for different shades**Cons* 5 packs of protective lenses costed me $40 I bought them in bulk for 20 each. It is easy for lenses to scratch. In case you have the habit of getting close to your welds, that lense will be easily warped and you'll lose your vision. If you get used to welding with your head at a normal distance, you'll be fine.
Would have liked to see the hood have a rechargeable battery for the price. But that's a personal preference.
A nice addition is the exterior grind mode button, but this anti scratch protection is nothing but a hoax. The lens got scratched up by just scrubbing against anything, but the head gear is among the best I have ever had, and the touchscreen is an extra nice touch. It is just the same as any other hat in that you will have to order new lenses every couple of months. I give this a 4/5 but would give it a 5/5 if the price was lower.
Buying the Sentinel A 50 turned out to be one of the best investments I have ever made. This product is extremely light and Although you can lift the helmet above your head, the chin strap stops just above your forehead. I had to get used to lifting the helmet high enough for it to reach the top. It can be adjusted to whether or not the helmet is too close to your face and the straps for your head are adjustable.
Seller did a good job of sending on time, but flashes and lenses on helmets last for only a few months You might want to look for something a little more comfortable if you weld long hours.
When I saw this helmet at Fabtech at the Esab booth, I knew I had to have one. It's a great helmet and it sells well.
It is very easy to work around and beneath the hood when its tight fitted since it has a large field of view.
