The tube should be a good use for that. I use it for my fireplace at home and I do not vent it. By using this tool, I could see a rising CO level when the fireplace is running for extended periods of time. In the reading, the reading was under 50, which is considered a bit safe, but can still have an effect on people with weak immune systems. As a result of my trust in the brand, I purchased this specific tool.
You will receive a case (with a belt loop) as well.
CO2 would not be detected by this device only CO would.
Could you please clarify what you mean by intrinsic safety? Batteries are required for them. Ideally, you should consult the actual manufacturer to find out the answer.

I have used many other carbon monoxide detectors in the past. After I misplaced my last unit, I decided to give this unit a try. Furthermore, with this unit, you can also get a temperature reading, which would be a big plus. Temp meter works fine, albeit a bit slow, but that is typical of temperature meters in general. In my opinion, the biggest issue with this unit is that it cannot detect CO properly. A few of the readings have been inconsistent. Trying to calibrate it according to instructions has not worked. Despite being placed near a source, such as a gas stove, the meter does not give the same reading each time it is used. Occasionally, I get an alert when my levels are too high, but it goes away soon after. It is not necessary for me to have perfect Basically, I just want a unit that can tell me whether or not CO levels are accurate when it shows or does not show those levels. There is no such function in this unit. As a result, I would go with another device, which is sad to say given that I am a huge fans.
All in all, I think this item is a great purchase and it gives reliable readings overall. There is some question as to how accurate the data is sometimes, according to other reviews. The first thing I notice is that there seems to be at all times about a 20 second delay. am able to walk behind my running car with the device, and I am about 15 to 20 feet away from my car The readings clear jump to 20-second intervals 20 seconds after the initial reading An effective concentration of 40 parts per million. When you walk into a clean space, you seem to react more quickly. It often takes less than a minute. encountered a few odd moments when my garage displays zero parking spaces per minute. There is no way to do this. This device, though outdoors, led me to come to the strange conclusion that parking lots have terrible air, despite the fact that they are outside. When I walked through a busy mall parking lot, I got a reading of 50ppm on this device, but when I am in my garage, I have never Maybe I should thank HVAC for saving the day. My home has also experienced a few odd instances where the clean air will jump from 0ppm to 3ppm and then go back down to 0 ppm again. The significance of this is a mystery to me. Are you just assuming that CO is being wafted? As an engineer who designed this device, I would not only recommend that the manufacturers consider- Maximise or average the number of clear buttons. I wish to take my average to the max, but that does not mean I wish to take my maximum. Could you explain that to me?.
is simply not accurate for use in a HVAC system. My experience with phantom readings for a week was the result of it. I wasted over $600 on parts and time. Temperature is measured well by this device, but there are better products suited for the job.
It is not possible to return. The $100 I wasted on a junk tool was not worth it. That's too bad.
The fireplace emitted a wave of CO about 40 ppm on occasion, but most of the time it stayed clean. The LCD provided a real-time CO reading down to 1 ppm with updates that were instantaneous. Neither CO detectors nor CO alarms can be trusted. The only way to be sure is with a meter such as this one. As far as CO alarms are concerned, they do not indicate what level of CO they will detect or sound at. For most CO detection systems, it takes several hours of exposure to 40 ppm of CO to activate the alarm, and anything beyond that will not be detected. A constant exposure of one hour is needed to activate them even at 200 ppm. These might save you from a lethal dose of carbon monoxide, but they won't protect you from exposure to low levels of CO for a long period of time, which is still I recommend using a meter like this one instead of a CO detector, as most companies do not know or will not state what levels their product will detect.
It never worked right out of the box. I changed the batteries hundreds of times but none of them worked. UNABLE TO BE STARTED.
Once it was used, then put away for 3 months. Then when I tried to use it, the power didn't work. The batteries have been replaced, but nothing has changed. Klein tools were of high quality to me. Not happy at all.
The program does its job as expected. Because the CO detectors kept going off, we had to purchase it. The exposure should be over after 30 minutes at 30ppm, so we needed a place to check and this thing, unfortunately, measured up to 60ppm, which you do not want if you have a I installed exhaust fans, and the reading has dropped to Make sure that your garage has a CO detector! We inspected it and made sure it was perfect.
