Questions & Answers
A third wire provides intercommunication between the Kidde smoke detectors and CO detectors, all six of which operate over a single branch circuit with a third wire for fire detection. I am pleased with how well they work A few suggestions are provided regarding placement in the instructions.
Once the CO level rises even just a small amount, the alarm will begin to sound even if it is not yet a dangerous one day, and my older furnace began not properly venting CO, so it began beeping and giving me a CO reading. I forgot that this can happen if too many vents are closed in a home. It is probably the fault of the other CO alarms in the house because they only have one setting, which is "OMG, leave the house NOW!" "This one has different levels and alerts according to how high a reading it picks up, so it beeped at me over and over while not going berserk to let me know that the levels were rising but not dangerous.
For units manufactured in 2013 forward, the warranty is for a period of 10 years.

Whether or not I got it right is unclear to me. The number on the card matches, however. is clearly stated several times in the Amazon description that this is a smoke and carbon monoxide monitor. On the box it is written CO monitor, but both the manufacturer's description and the labeling mention it as such. There is an explicit statement on the packaging that it can be connected to smoke and fire alarms, but it is just There is a chance that someone might be injured seriously.
According to what turned out to be the case, they have a finite lifespan (* 7 years?). The sound starts beeping as soon as it reaches that threshold. The only option is living with the beeping noise day and night until you can obtain replacements, or you can disconnect them and be in danger of carbon monoxide poisoning. If these units gave an advance warning before their expiration time, they would be a lot better. Other than that, they work fine and the shipping was fast.
The installation is straightforward. There is nothing better than a good carbon monoxide detector in my opinion. I have purchased two of them in the last eight Easy installation is made possible by these products. It wasn't really necessary for me to buy a new set of wires, which will hopefully The old detector may be recyclable, but I do not know. No recycling information is present on the box or on the product. The detector is hardwired in my condo, and I am required by law to have one. The stove I'm using at the moment produces more carbon monoxide when the stove is It was tested by my heat and air conditioning guy. I have a carbon monoxide detector by the gas dryer and furnace even though they are not producing carbon monoxide. In addition, the walls and windows of my condo are not insulated. As soon as I use the oven, I'll open the window in the kitchen and turn on the fan. I don't think I have any chance of getting poisoned by carbon monoxide other than this.
In fact, I have used this CO detector for a decade, or at least the same model number. I installed my first one in about 9 years ago and it operated smoothly without a single false alarm. My body is still alive, so I guess no CO was detected. As for the 9V battery, I did not have to change it over the years it beeped for some time because it had expired, so I replaced it with the same unit. My experience with this has been no different over the years, and I haven't experienced any issues with it. I would recommend it to anyone, as long as you have a solid power source and an electrical junction box to mount it inside.
I'm replacing my old unit with a new one that is the same as the old one. There is a hole in the battery compartment of the old device caused by a battery explosion and black soot. The hole can be seen in the I'm not sure if this was a bad 9 volt battery (from BJ's) or if there's something wrong with the detector itself, since it's hardwired into 110 volts and uses batteries only for back up. There is almost an impression that something happened and it pushed power back into the battery and caused it to Fire luckily did not break out. That is quite Here is a photo.
The back of the 9-volt battery is such a pain The front face of the unit must have access to the up battery. The battery, however, will beep every 60 seconds when it is low to remind you you need to replace it or, if you don't, you are twisting live wires every time you need to replace it! Even if you found the circuit breaker in your house to be safer, you would still have to twist electrical wire every time you did it, and you'd have to hope your wire nuts wouldn't There is no doubt that this is a circuit breaker trip hazard!.
It took about seven years for our previous CO detector to fail The house has been in the family for years. It was more convenient to get these with the digital indicator than to get them directly replaced. figure if they go off, you could check to see if it is a false alarm or if there is it really his CO showing up. My opinion on the sheerness of the device is not that insightful since you plug it in, hook it up to the system, and leave it on the mount for six months, so I can't say much about it. The batteries will be exchanged in a few months.
The three of these detectors I purchased replaced three Kidde CO detectors I had built and all had failed within a few It turns out that my old Kidde detectors were made in 2013, so they had a 7 year life span when I had to replace them. This new generation of batteries has a ten year life, which means I should have enough until 2030 (assuming they do not I installed the software without any problems. CO detectors I had previously were a different model that did not have a digital display (KN-7030) B/C - The Internet Corporation). With the existing wiring harness and baseplate I was able to snap them into place with no problem. Currently I am rating these 5 stars, but I will update my review if there is an issue.
