Questions & Answers

How can the price of the single detector be more than twice that of the two pack?

You should know that the sensor has a seven-year life expectancy. That's what I was told by Several years ago, I purchased 2 units. Now, I'm replacing them. They do appear to be good in other respects. In comparison to other brands, I don't know if their lifespan is similar.

When mounting holes, how far apart does it have to be?

The Kidde CO Alarm Model KN-103 has just been installed three times This is COB A second LP. A total of 3 holes are present. A 7-inch screen is 7. It is a good idea to slide off the back plate and use it as a template instead. You can either install one screw or use the plastic anchors provided in dry wall to install one screw. Screw the screw into an 8-inch (125 mm) hole and tighten it. Once that's done, you can hang the back plate off the single screw and level it and mark the exact center of the second hole with a pencil. The second screw should be installed. The alignment should be satisfactory once they are matched with the back plate. (In my case, the first one was a little off because I had not followed the above procedure, but in any case it was

The cost of your cob b lcmcoc allarm is 15 dollars, the cost of 6 is 99 dollars. The price of quantity is higher because it is more. ?

Amazon seems to be prone to this kind of error quite often. If the customer wants to save money, he or she just needs to order multiples of the cheaper If you want to bundle six 15's for 90 instead of paying 9 extra, then buy six of them. Occasionally, there may be a legitimate explanation such as bundled shipping, which gives more money to the seller if the product is sent directly from them instead of Amazon's In any case, most often when I see this I chuckle, and of course the advantage is in my court as long as the stock is available as long as I only need 3 or 5, I can skip acquiring multiple bundles for more money and just order the quantity of the single item. You can also use this if two is cheaper than four or something like that. Do the math and you will laugh at how foolish society has become. Stay safe and chill out. It's good for your heart and your entire family.

Does this device work in the same blind as Mr. Heater's heating system in a 6' x 6' hunting blind?

While the detector's instructions say it should be placed 15' from the heat source, if I were in that 6' x 6' blind I would feel significantly safer with it. A very close proximity to a source might make it more likely to go off.

I found it to be extremely helpful! It is four years old and I bought it four You can put it in the hallway- Our baby often slept in the closet in the basement where we sometimes put her to sleep, so we didn't think much of it except for wondering if it worked
5/5

Well, then. Earlier this week, we learned the news. When the alarm went off in the morning, I pressed the reset button (I appreciate the fact that the beeping pattern to indicate battery low is different from the beeping pattern to indicate low power). I heard an alarm (dangerous carbon monoxide levels) ringing but the alarm failed to go off, so I wondered if it was a fluke or if I should do anything After my kids began complaining of fatigue or headaches the past couple days (could have been coincidence), I decided that it was better to be safe than sorry and called the fire department for advice. They came out and sure enough, the basement had unusually high levels of methane. We received more sophisticated equipment from the gas company and were able to pinpoint the problem with our furnace. This detector proved to be especially helpful when we discovered that our heater exchange had cracked and was emitting smoke.

The furnace leak was not detected, and it was completely worthless
3/5

A couple of years ago I bought this unit and installed it in my basement next to It was just under two years ago (a few days ago), that the heat exchanger on the furnace cracked, causing carbon monoxide to leak into the basement and spread I had two smoke/CO detectors on my second floor that both went off, but this one remained In the basement of the building, where this unit was located, the fire department found 160 ppm of carbon monoxide, much higher than what they found Test buttons on this unit confirmed that the batteries were still in good condition, so I have no idea why the unit crashed. In the next few days, I hope to replace this unit with something else that.

Worked for me! The detector alarm sounded after I turned off the oven after cooking on our propane fueled stove
5/5

This seems to work well. As we sniffed some propane gas, we realized that we were indoors. In the end, we could have just gone to bed, and we would still have leaking water all night. Nevertheless, the alarm was set off.

It's that simple
5/5

One of my carbon monoxide detectors had reached the end of its life, so I was looking for a simple, inexpensive replacement that does the This Kidde KN-200 model was designed to This is COB It fits the bill to have an LPM Carbon Monoxide Alarm. Almost $15 is required to purchase it. A set of two AA batteries is required. It takes just a few minutes to install. A loud alarm, with bare-bones features, is set off by the alarm. A test button and a couple of LEDs indicate whether or not the alarm is working correctly. all there is to This is not the detector you're looking for if you want a ton of features. This detector will do the trick if you are looking for simplicity and low cost.

It is unfriendly to plan for obsolescence
3/5

A detector like this has a 10 year hard life. Within 10 years of its lifetime, they start complaining and have to be replaced as soon as possible. If you happen to be a landlord and manage many properties, this can prove to be very frustrating. This makes all of your tenants go insane when it starts beeping since it is like a virus. You will need to replace these every week, especially if you don't keep records of when which units get which alarms (which I obviously did not), as they usually malfunction during the night, and at least 20% of the time, when tenants living adjacent to me wake you up to solve problems. Before your unit starts beeping every 30 seconds if it is about to fail, it might flash a little or behave in an odd way for a month or two. you will know when something is going wrong with the CO detector if the tenant alerts you to it. And by the way, I am not sure if this actually detects anything. Typically, these only go off if the batteries need to be replaced or when they reach a decade old.

A code that is out of date
3/5

Originally manufactured in January of this year. Your town would be out of date, out of code if you had a 5 year limit like mine and countless other communities.

I was not able to get the green activation light to stay lit on the Fruity Kiddie product In order to help me, I contacted Kiddie's Customer Service
3/5

Their representative asked me for the model number and serial number Neither was printed on the detector, but the package was printed with the model number. These numbers appear on the rear of all kiddie carbon monoxide detectors, according to the rep. The model number is less, but I read it nonetheless. In response to my question, the rep said the number I read to her is not Kiddie's. Following this, she asked me to read the information on the front of the detector to her. A representative stated "Kiddie" was printed on the front of all the detectors after she did so. There was no such benefit for this product. According to the rep, I should return the product as it is not Kiddie tested.

First one lasted from summer 2013 to summer 2018 unit sizes were slightly different
4/5

It held three (3) batteries when it was built, bought and installed summer 2013. the batteries once or twice, and the unit kept beeping even with a new set of batteries. After a few months, I had to buy a new set of batteries. The product was purchased again, and a few minor modifications were made. The old back plate still fits but not as tightly as the new one. The new one uses two (2) batteries now. Using the old back plate is the best thing to do since it won't fall off if it jumps up three to four inches. Note that the unit has a 10 year warranty, even though it's just been replaced. Since shipping costs are difficult to estimate, it is probably easiest to just get a brand new one or replace it. Naturally, the manufacturer has heard about this.
