After six years, our unit had to be replaced and we had to buy a new one I have been working here for 7 years. As a result, the batteries started beeping (not a replacement signal, but the sound is essentially Our first one lasted for about a month before we had to replace the battery. When we bought replacements, one only lasted for about a month. As we have never experienced a carbon monoxide leak, I cannot determine if it would work in the event of a leak, although I hope it would.
Although I give First Alert props for their excellent service, Amazon sent the incorrect I did not return the item because it was easier to adjust than to wait. In the future, I would like to encourage Amazon to be more attentive to model numbers. Apart from that, First Alert has been a very good experience for me.
A false alarm has never occurred. The new alarm is better designed than the old one. A lot of the old alarms had their door open all of the time due to poor design as the door latch keeps on breaking. I can handle this one without a problem.

There is a difference in mounting hole spacing between the newer and older models, although they both have the same model numbers. My intention was to avoid making another hole in the wall, so I ordered the same model as before.
