They do have a magnetic effect.
They're visible during the day in "strobe light" mode, but these lights should be used from early evening to early morning, not in broad daylight, in my opinion.
Yes, Boundry is the manufacturer. I bought these as Christmas gifts for my grandkids and family members, so they haven't been used yet.

I haven't used them yet, but they appear to do what they claim. They were purchased for each of our vehicles. When it came to opening the battery cover, my husband discovered that breaking the seal with a metal putty knife by the small tab broke the seal and made it very easy to open the cover.
This item was originally purchased for my wife and me. I was so happy when that package arrived that I went out and bought a second set for our kids. The safety flare performs exactly as it should. They were delivered promptly and in good condition. They appeared to be well-made, and the lights worked as expected. br>I haven't had to use them yet, so I can't say how long the batteries will last; each flare, by the way, requires three AAA batteries, which aren't included. If you follow the instructions provided, installing a battery is simple. They recommend separating the pieces with your fingers, but I used a small flat screwdriver to slowly apply pressure to one tab until the seal broke.
There are no batteries included with this unit. There are two screws that must be removed. The instructions say to press down on two tabs, but it's unclear whether they're part of the lid or the body, or whether they're clip tabs. It is stated that breaking the seal may be difficult. It was. It's not much easier to replace the lid. The screws go through the lid's holes, but they're difficult to align with the embedded nuts on the case's bottom. Once the 18 AAA batteries (3 per unit) are installed, you can expect anywhere from 60 hours of battery life (on a dim low setting) to as little as 10 hours on a steady bright (the 15 LEDs are bright, as are most LED lights). Then guess what. br>br> That's right, it's time to go through the arduous battery replacement procedure once again. It doesn't have to be so difficult. I have a small LED flashlight (with fewer bulbs) that lasts much longer and is much easier to replace the batteries in.
The issue began when I tried unsuccessfully to follow the company's instructions. It specifies that you should hold the item in both hands and open the tabs with your fingers. That's best of luck. Then I went to the mentioned video on YouTube, which was useless because the guy basically hides his hands and doesn't address the issue. I discovered a much easier and safer method by placing the product on a hard surface and using a butter knife to simply press down on either tab, which usually only requires one tab. Their customer service took three days to respond to a voice mail (which always goes after about two minutes), apologized on the phone, and told me to contact them via email. Despite the fact that I provided them with a better alternative way to use their product, they have yet to respond, which you would think they would have done at the very least. Very, very poor.
These appear to do what they claim to do, but taking them apart to install the batteries requires the strength of King Kong, which I believe is due to their high water resistance. I like how they are magnetic and have a hook so that they can be used for safety on cars or for children no matter where you are.
I was blown away by the quality. It is true, according to other reviews, that disassembling the device to install batteries is difficult. I found that inserting a smaller flat blade screwdriver under the tab to start removing the cover was helpful. The directions say to use your fingers, but I couldn't get it to work. The safety flair is excellent, and the LEDs are extremely bright. I bought one for each member of the family to keep in their cars in the event of an emergency. I even purchased one for the older grandchildren who are still riding bicycles. They were supposed to last a long time, so I was expecting them to do so.
