My package arrived on a day when I was off work. I am a procrastinator by nature, but I decided to install it anyway. A bad thunderstorm swept through our state about 4 hours later, knocking out power for a large number of people. I was without power for about 15 hours, and the light, despite not having a full charge, did its job for 3 or 4 hours. It was nice to have it and not be in the dark for a while, as others have said. It isn't a heavy-duty product, but it isn't supposed to be for the price. When you install it, just make sure the wires for the lights are plugged into the battery wire. It's disconnected on the inside so the battery doesn't get used while it's being shipped. It's fantastic, and I strongly advise you to check it out!.
I replaced a NiCad emergency light on my basement stairs with this LED emergency light. NiCad batteries last for about two years, and this LED emergency light costs about the same as NiCad batteries. Switching to LED lighting is a no-brainer. Because I already had 120V wiring to the electrical box, it went together quickly. The lights are a bright blue/white color that illuminate the entire stairwell. Batteries are included in this light. The light cover is snapped into the base due to the way it is packaged. To remove the plastic locking clips, you'll need two small flat screwdrivers or something similar. If you just try to pull it apart, you'll break the clips, which means you'll have to tape your cover to the base. So take your time and let the clips fall where they may.
I'm a retired electrician, and believe me when I say I've installed a lot of emergency battery packs in my time. I installed this in my basement, and there's no need for a box if you terminate with- You will be in the fixture with this pack. For the price, this is a good product. Take a look!.
As part of my job, I install a lot of emergency lights from various manufacturers. The ni- The cad/LED fixtures have proven to be the most dependable. This version appears to be of good quality and has a good amount of brightness. The only disadvantage is that the mounting screw knockouts on the backplate are much thicker than usual, necessitating a few hard hits to open them up. Overall, this was an excellent purchase.
In the garage, it has been installed. It's not difficult to install; I used a standard cord and plug and drilled a small hole in the housing instead of using a junction box. br>I was dissatisfied with the lack of light.
Overall, it's comparable to standard products, but at a lower cost. I expect it to last a long time, and the light output appears to be a little better than most of the others I've bought in the past.
The item arrived promptly and was well-protected in its packaging. This took the place of an old incandescent lamp emergency light that had died. Because the screw holes in the back were not drilled out, I had to use my drill press to drill them out. During the day, the lights aren't as bright as incandescent bulbs, but they're still bright in the evening. Even though it appears to me that there are 12 LEDs per light head, there are only eight. For the price, the light performs admirably.
A few years ago, I purchased one. The battery had died by the time it was needed. The cost of a replacement battery was nearly identical to the cost of a new light.
