To replace the old brushed nickel accessories, you can, of course, purchase the appropriate brushed nickel accessories. The control box for both the copper and plastic air switches is the same.
Not if you insert it into an existing receptacle with the long edge facing away from the other half. If the other device you've plugged in, however, requires the same configuration, you'll need to add an extension or a multi-port switch. a different receptacle or an outlet adapter

It should not crack in the same way that plastic versions do. We moved into our newly built home number three. It had been five years. I was disappointed that the disposal's air switch, which had been installed previously, had failed so quickly. After removing it and inspecting the design, it became clear that the thickness of the counter top had pushed the attachment nut to the very bottom. The central tube of the original assembly, which was made of plastic, failed due to low cycle fatigue. I wanted to use metal instead of plastic because of that failure mode. I was overjoyed to discover that this item is entirely made of metal. It's also a little longer than the original plastic switch, so there's more thread engagement with the nut. It was simple to set up and it works perfectly. The money was well spent.
My husband and I have placed three separate orders for garbage disposal buttons. This was the third button, and it was a little more expensive than the others, but it was well worth it; the others were cheap plated plastic for a little less money. What you pay for is exactly what you get. This heavy-duty metal button was simple to install and has shown no signs of wear in the six months we've had it. We would strongly advise paying a little more for this level of quality.
This item, in my opinion, is a step up from the others I've bought. This one is made of metal and has a substantial weight to it. The quality of the air switch is far superior to any other I've used. I also like how the power supply plugs directly into an outlet, and the air supply and switch are connected via compression fittings. This frees up a lot of space under the sink, which is usually crowded enough as it is. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
I originally purchased the model with the recessed button, but after reading numerous reviews about how difficult it was to keep gunk out, I decided to go with this one. We had our plumber install it because we were also getting a new garbage disposal and faucet, so I can't comment on how easy it was to install, but it appeared to be fairly simple. So far, everything has gone smoothly.
The air switch is simple to install, and all of the components are well-made. br>If you press the switch below the fixed rim, the push button will become stuck. The garbage disposal unit can be activated with just a light depressing of the air switch. This problem could be avoided if the manufacturer included a limit screw.
It appears that the quality is excellent. We adore how this "pops up" from the counter rather than being flush with it. Our previous one was flush, so garbage was constantly spilling or falling into the inlet. This one is fantastic and looks the part; it has a heavy-duty feel to it, and we couldn't be happier. It hasn't been a problem so far, and it's very easy to set up. Because the switch section is small, it does not cause as much interference under the cabinet as many other switches do.
We chose this model because the button, even when fully depressed, is raised. br>Our previous air switch was flush, and when depressed, it would sink into the counter top, making it difficult to press and catching all sorts of weird bits in the housing. br>This air switch is a good match for our Kohler Malleco touchless faucet/soap dispenser, and it solves those issues nicely.
I've used and shopped a lot of these, and this one is a solid metal button that looks like it will last a long time. Water stains aren't even a problem. This counter switch is highly recommended for your kitchen disposables.
