Apparently, new home builders love saving a couple of bucks by using cheap plastic junk, but since I don't want to deal with this project ever again, I figured I could splurge on actual metal hardware. The closet on which I was working has a telescoping rod (though not fixed The threads are drilled to connect the set screws). As I felt the brackets to be very sturdy, I unlikely that they would fail in the future.
My wallet is thin. (Yes, I am 2) I I added two more coats since the paint didn't seem to be able to adhere well. It is covered in paint but has a tendency to chip. I should have degreased the conduits first, but they were a bit oily, so I degreased them as soon as I was finished. I'm happy that they are functioning well now. Yet, they have chrome finishes, which is a good thing. It was my fault that the paint was peeling. I also found them to be heavier than I expected based on the picture, not light. In addition, they do not seem to be loose plumbing.
There's no need to fear those plastic things you get in the mail. It is incredible. It's amazing how well these metal closet dowel holders work. There is no need to be concerned about plastic items found in the average household. Instead of those flimsy ones, I am replacing them with these heavy duty rod holders made in America. I really like what you do!.

We bought this to hold a closet rod upright, and it holds it just as it should. I have still been able to use it and it is still holding up well!.
These heavy duty closet holders are designed to hold a lot of weight. When using the rods that are sold separately, it will work.
