If you intend to use it as a dust collection device, it is not suitable. In this tool, debris/dust is collected in an airtight bag that would quickly clog as soon as wood shavings and other particles are picked up. If you hooked it up to something like a Dust Deputy cyclone in front of a GV 50 canister, maybe you could use it for woodworking. The only thing I'll tell you is that I use mine in my wood shop to do general cleanup, and it's the best vacuum I've ever used!
