It's ridiculously powerful. I should have gotten this a long time ago.

You should use the appropriate filter for wet use, which is either the black foam filter or the white cartridge filter, which can both be hand washed and air dried.

All of the pieces are inside, and it only takes a few screws to put it together if you want it to roll. This was the source of my problem. Out of the box, it has a low sucking power. Make sure the filter is tightened down a few more turns, as mine was loose and not sucking at the recommended pressure. Tighten the screws, and you'll have a big bang. With this, you'll be able to pull the carpet up.
I was unable to test the product because the hinge was broken right out of the box! The specifications are excellent, but the material is terrible!.
UPDATE: UPDATED: I've been waiting for a replacement part since November. br>br>UPDATE: I've been waiting for a replacement part since November. br>b It is now October, and the replacement motor has yet to arrive. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> The order was placed in February. The motor has broken down. In June, I sent in my warranty. The new motor is still missing as of September 4th. br>br>In the garage, we used it sparingly. I didn't use a vacuum to remove any liquids. On the concrete floor, there is mostly sawdust and dirt. In June, the motor broke down. We now have to ship the entire unit back to Illinois because the seller (Alphaben) will not provide any support and has advised us to contact Stanley. We're dealing with a third company, Alton Industry Ltd, who doesn't support the product either. Group. It's a real pain.
It looked like it had fallen off a truck and landed on the highway when it was delivered. The bottom had been smashed, and there were holes on both sides. The box was held together by wrapping packaging tape around it. There was no packaging on the inside of the box. The vacuum cleaner, extension wands, and instruction manual were all loose and had been bouncing around for four days. The tools and wheels rattling around inside the vacuum irritated me. br>This does not appear to be the manner in which I SHOULD have received my new $90 vacuum. br>If you require photographs, I will gladly provide them.
My handle was broken when it arrived, but not to the extent described by another customer. The handle was jammed down a couple of inches due to a crack in the plastic. The dome top where the handle mounts is part of the exhaust assembly and is not critical to the machine's sucking operation. I live in an area where shipping something back is a PIA, so I pulled the handle back into place, applied a large amount of hot melt glue around the break, and put the vacuum back into service. Because other customers have reportedly experienced the same problem with a broken handle, I believe it is occurring prior to or during the packaging of the product. The box in which my item arrived was undamaged, and everything appeared to be in order until I noticed the broken handle when I went to remove it from the box. Epoxy would have been a better choice for repairing the damage. The hot glue gun, on the other hand, was easily accessible.
The machine appeared to be very loud from the start. It had decent suction, but after using it three times, I found it to be ineffective. It burned out four times. It was used in the basement to vacuum sawdust, cobwebs, and dog hair, and it was only used a few times. Over the years, I've owned a number of wet/dry shop vacuums, each of which saw a lot of use, both wet and dry, and lasted anywhere from eight to ten years. This one has only been used on dry debris with a vacuum bag on rare occasions over the last ten years. Stanley has left a bad taste in my mouth. As a result, I am unable to return it because I only used it occasionally. So that's $80 down the drain, and I'm going to have to buy a new one! When these are good, they appear to be fine, but quality control appears to be lacking, and you're out of luck if you get a bad one.
This ShopVac was purchased specifically to clean the inside of our pellet stove. It's a dusty job, to be sure. It's difficult to clean up black ash. The one we had wasn't very good to begin with and only lasted a season. My son complimented the Stanley ShopVac's suction after cleaning the stove. It's far superior to the previous two vacations we've taken. It's a little difficult to maneuver around there because of the furniture, but the Vac has a long cord, so it only took a minute to get set up. With the Stanley, I noticed that my son didn't make as much of a mess, and any stray pellets were easily sucked up with the ash. br>Excellent piece of equipment.
I consider myself fortunate that I have not had the same experiences as others here. br>br>It's the most powerful vacuum I've ever had, and I've had a lot of them because I used to service vacuums for a living. The lack of a swivel on the handle end of the hose was my only complaint, but I couldn't give it a full star because of it. On the canister end, the swivel is nearly useless. It functions, but not to the satisfaction of the user. I'll tinker with it a little to see if there's anything I can do to improve it. As a result, I'm giving it a 4 out of 5 star rating. 83177 br>br>Because I've only had it for a short time, I can't say how long it will last. It's a lot of plastic, but it's all in good shape so far. I was disappointed that my Shop-Vac didn't come with it. After only a few years of light use, the vacuum was no longer functional. Shop- Vacs had become synonymous with any vacuum that had been relegated to "shop use," and the fact that I couldn't find a replacement motor for it for less than what I had paid for the entire unit added to my dissatisfaction. br>br>So, if Stanley can fix the hose issue for future users of this product and it continues to stink as much as it does now, I'll raise my numerical rating to a 5 in the future.
