Questions & Answers

If I need an extension or a longer hose, what type of hose should I look for?

The RIDGID 2 is a 2-in-1 device that can be used to solve 1/2 in. x 13 ft. Tug- This item works well with the RIDGID Wet Dry Vac's long vacuum hose.

Is there a 120v plug as well, as stated by another reviewer?

It does have a 120-volt outlet. It's been a year since I got it and it's still going strong.

What makes the batteries for this device so expensive?

That is ultimately a manufacturer's question, but since the battery is made to fit their power tools as well, it is standardized, and that is my guess. For this, make sure you get a big battery (4Ah or more). The smaller batteries will only last about 30 minutes. This is true of any brand (over the years, I've tried a few different major brand names of cordless vacs).

Is it possible to use it as a blower?

It does! This is an example of creativity. The Wet/Dry Vac can blow sawdust and other debris and can be used as a blower for yard work, patio cleanup, and workshop use.   The vacuum port is directly across from the blowing port.

Selected User Reviews For RIDGID 3 gal. 18V Cordless Handheld Wet Dry Vac with 1-7/8 Extension Wand Accessory for Select RIDGID Wet/Dry Vacs WD0319-VT1708

I recently purchased the cordless Ridgid 3gallon 18v vac model wd0319-, which is superior to DeWalt
4/5

In terms of suction and design, the vt1708 is far superior to the DeWalt 20v vac. Because the (DeWalt has a lip, you won't be able to completely empty the contents. ) Having said that, I wish the Ridgid had a more rugged design. The latches on the bottom container and the batt compartment door are both flimsy. I'm not sure why it's not available at Home Depot. With a 4ah battery, I get about 15 minutes of continuous use, but I'll be using this for shorter periods of time. This vacuum has the same suction as a similar corded vacuum of this size, and unlike the DeWalt, it will suction the attachment to the floor.

In a battery vacuum, it's all about the power
4/5

If you watched Project Farm's shootout, you'll notice that this vacuum blew away the competition and is the only battery-powered device that will make you forget you're not plugged in. br>br>As a result, it's about as loud as an AC power vacuum, and in confined spaces, hearing protection may be required. It quickly depletes its battery, taking about 10 minutes to do so. The 4aH battery will take 15 minutes to charge, but it will completely destroy the job you're doing, meaning you won't have to go over the same area over and over again. The battery charges quickly as well. If you want to get a half hour out of it, there are batteries with more than twice the capacity. br>br>The battery compartment plastic cover could be thicker so that it flexes less and latches more reliably. This is complicated by the fact that the hose gets in the way. The side latches work well, but they frequently become hooked and hung up when removing or replacing the tank. There's a no-cost option available. I'll probably duct tape the spinning ring on the hose over a gap that allows suction to escape the tube so it doesn't rotate out of place. I haven't used it to suck up liquid yet, but a drain plug on the tank would be useful because tipping to pour with utility vacs can be a splashy affair. These annoyances are minor; it can pick up items without the bulk and inconvenient nature of a wall-mounted device. The tank is a good size and has a plugged vacuum.

If you buy something on Amazon, you don't get a warranty
4/5

I like the vacuum cleaner, but if I had seen the warranty registration papers before purchasing it, I would not have purchased it from Amazon. It turns out that you must provide a Home Depot receipt number in order to register the product for warranty. There is no warranty if you don't have a receipt from Home Depot. Later, I decided I needed a Ridgid fan and went to Home Depot to get one.

Strong and light
5/5

The suction is comparable to that of a medium-sized shop vac, despite its diminutive size. I use it for everything: cars, tool rooms, removing oak nuts from the lawn, and so on. It can be taken with you. You won't have to look for a plug or deal with extension cords. To tell you the truth, I'm a big fan of Ridgid power tools. They're trustworthy and of excellent quality. There is a lifetime warranty on these items. I've used their service department for other issues (that I've caused) and have found them to be helpful. friendly. Their Bluetooth batters are what I mostly use. For this puppy, 6 amp hours are required. One thing I don't like about it is how loud it is. But, hey, it's a shop vac, so what did I expect? On the whole, I'm optimistic.

Suction power to the max! Battery life is quickly depleted as well
3/5

This thing is incredibly light and portable! Longer hoses are possible, but they may reduce sucking power. The clips that keep the top attached to the bottom could be improved, making it easier to remove and attach the head to the body. You'll be happy sucking things up all over the place because the suction is great, but after 12 to 14 minutes of use, you'll notice the motor slowly winding down and the suction decreasing as the battery dies. You'll be fine if you have a few extra batteries on hand.

JUNK - It was about a ten-minute experience
3/5

For a long time, I've been a RIDGID tool user. This portable air conditioner was a huge letdown. It's nearly impossible to put the filter on, the hose is too short, and there's no tool or hose storage. When I used it for the second time, the noise level increased by at least ten times what it should have been. I've had my RYOBI 18V portable Vac for years, and it's a gem that works flawlessly! Don't buy this one to save yourself a headache!.

I adore my vacuum cleaner
5/5

I bought this vacuum for my van after trying a couple of cordless stick vacuums that died after only 5 minutes on a fully charged battery. This one has a battery life of about 25 minutes, but it can be used with multiple batteries. I have five batteries, so I can vacuum for quite a while and always have a battery charging to keep up with the vacuum. If you only have three batteries, you can vacuum for quite a while.

I'm so glad I came across this vacuum cleaner! Wow, the suction power is incredible
5/5

It was far superior to the Dewalt one I had been using at work. I also purchased a 9-hour battery, which fits perfectly inside and can detect the amount of battery life left on my phone via Bluetooth. I clean the truck and the yacht with this vacuum. It saves time because you don't have to look for an outlet.
