Questions & Answers

The 3921 and the 3922 are different from each other, what's the difference?

Almost every aspect of these two units is the same. There are only a few differences between the 3921 and 3922, such as the presence of a flexible work light and a blade-storage compartment on the side, while the 3922 has a special side panel that folds out to help make cleaning up and changing blades easier. The 3921 is fitted with the two-slot format as well Blades are held using a direction adapter system (more appropriate for pinned blades), while the 3922 uses a standard blade holding system (the latter is more appropriate

I recently purchased a new scroll saw, model 3922. Blade holders do not pinch together to hold blades when upper and lower pinless blade holders are used. If you were to back up your saw, when would you do it?

With the thumb screw and finger pressure you will never get it tight. I thought the same as you at first. To install the thumb screw, you will need a wrench that fits into the end of it. Even though it takes a lot of force, it gets easier as you go along. There isn't a lot of clear information provided by WEN on this, but its instructions are ambiguous. This seems to be much harder than it needs to be, because the pitch tolerance isn't right on these threads. The saw almost went back to the manufacturer, but I think I can fix it by myself. There is a need for WEN to examine this matter.

In what size does the saw actually come?

The dimensions of the picture are 3/4" x 13" x 14" Measurements in 3/8"

If this could cut corrugated plastic, how well would it do. Does a coroplast exist?

I would say probably not too bad. The one I have is perfect for cutting anything from 1/8 inch plexiglass to 2x4s without any problems. I don't really have any complaints about this machine. In order to cut something such as a 2x4, the blades wear out pretty quickly, but with thin stuff they last a long time.

When it came time to change the first blade, the tension mechanism broke
3/5

The last few weeks, I bought an old Delta scroll saw from Marketplace, and blade changes are so challenging and time-consuming that I wanted something that would simplify cutting inside shapes. I figured this looked like a good, highly functional item to simplify the process. After reviewing the beginner saw, I decided to buy The machine was assembled with a blade and only needed some tightening and adjusting to be ready for use. In my first attempt at cutting, I carefully read the instructions to thread the blade for an inside cut however, after threading the blade I found that the spring in the tension mechanism had broken, and it was impossible to lower the blade back to the "lock" Similarly, the lever bent without much pressure as well when it was trying to get back to the lock state. *I also had problems cutting due to the foot guard standing up to a strange angle, even though I tightened the screw as much as I could with a drill. Unfortunately, I am not sure if this is a design error or another problem with the unit. I ordered a replacement, and I will update my review once it arrives. That saw really looks like it could be good! I hope it isn't so cheap that it cannot actually be used!.

A great value for the price
5/5

I bought this saw with a pinned blade to use with a specific project. It worked well with the blade it came with, It was there that the problems began. Especially for very thin blades that are very small, it was impossible to tighten the blade clamp. In trying to tighten it, I actually broke one of the plastic thumb screws. As I was noticing the screw had a hex socket, I noticed there was a hex socket on the end. I used an allen wrench to tighten the bolts at that point, and the problem was solved. When I first changed blades, it was hard to tighten the clamp, but it became easier as I kept changing them. With it, I did a lot of cutting and was pleased with its performance. WEN sent me a replacement thumb screw as soon as I called and the problem was resolved right away.

This is a great saw for beginners
5/5

This is a great saw for beginners. You can easily change out the blades and it cuts beautifully. The scroll saw can be used with both pinned and pinless blades, so it's a great choice if you want a decent scrollsaw without spending a lot of money.

I can't get the blade to stay in the bottom hold no matter how hard I try
3/5

I have been waiting for it for so long. It turned out to be a total frustration to receive the package after being so thrilled to receive it. In addition, I purchased a bunch of pinless blades when ordering the product. However, they simply slide out of the bottom hold no matter how hard I tighten them up.

I find this advertising to be very misleading
3/5

My excitement for this saw was so great, but then I got angry that I couldn't use it. Beginner like me had trouble finding a saw that was within my budget. When I purchased this saw, the 3922 model, I did so for its 'tool-free' nature It is free to change blades. This is wrong! A tool is not the only thing you need It is only free for pinned blades. It is not free for pinless or plain blades. The plain blade is most often used with scroll saws, not the blade with a pin. There are no instructions that go with it, so it is not only falsely advertised, but also poorly written. For plain blades, there is NO mention of using the hex tool/key to tighten them extra. The only video available on YouTube that shows how to change the blade for the plain blade is for the pinned blade (there is one for this model, but that only shows the It wasn't until I checked in with a scroll saw group that I figured out that I could put the plain blade in. It was figured out and told to me by someone. also had to sandpaper the inside of the box- By roughening up the aperture between the clamps, the plain blade is more likely to hold on. Due to the fact that I was returning the item, I did not do this. There is no indicator on the tension knob that indicates where you are in terms of applying As you are trying to figure out the tension, it would be nice to have something to indicate the ball park area of where you should or should not be (a mark, a number, etc). Because this saw is a budget model, I was not expecting bells and whistles, but at least advertise it correctly and have the instructions displayed properly! If the manufacturer found the mistake too late, they should have at least created a YouTube video to illustrate the problem. Taking the 'tool-like' approach to advertising would be a good idea Blades can be changed for free.
I did not contact the company about this since I had a tool to get the job done Totally free machine. I sent it back and upgraded to the DeWalt. At least that machine only takes plain blades, I found a video that showed me how to change the blade without using any tools (in case the instructions aren't too clear). Buying a piece of the WEN model(s) prior to this one won't be risky at all. At least adaptors that fit this model can be purchased.

A great way to make small parts with intricate details
5/5

Flexible and quiet, this speaker is perfect for any venue. My first scroll saw was a gift from my uncle, and I was unaware of how useful it can A sheet of expanded PVC was cut into components for a robot using this machine. In the future, I'm sure to find a lot more uses for the saw.
