The blade only has teeth on its front side, and the upper arm rapidly moves up and down to create the cutting motion. I don't know what you mean by "by directional", but the blade only has teeth on the front side. As soon as you place the part on the cutting platform, you gently maneuver it around the blade. It does not seem to be bidirectional, so it is likely not. I like the fact that it's fun to use and easy to learn.
Could you please clarify what you mean by so, please provide the following information The Amazon website. The tool refurbisher at your local hardware store will be able to help you if you plan on using it in a professional capacity. It would be okay, as long as you used a metal cutting blade and worked
It was from Amazon that I got Mind in June

The service was extremely dissatisfying. In just a few days, I used the saw for one project, and the saw began falling apart from extreme vibrations (see other reviews concerning this). The bolts and fasteners were ripping apart from the extreme vibration, which point to haphazard assembly by Furthermore, the arm that rotates beneath the base needs to be replaced When the plate hit the saw, it would smash a bolt. The bolts themselves could not be removed, so I had no choice but to remove them. A clear flaw in the design was evident here. The first negative review I have written is for an Amazon product. I have never done so before.
A blade holder snapped in half after only five hours of use, and the upper blade holder can't be repaired. I have looked on several parts outlet websites (including Skil) and have not been able to find one that shows the part correctly and sells the entire assembly to replace the The loss is 120 dollars. Other than that, it appears to be functioning well.
The scroll saw is ideal for a beginner who wants to get into scroll sawing. Despite the listing saying that pinless blades will work, it is still more effective when using pin blades as pinless blades don't stay in place.
There is a lot of vibration, and the spiral blades are difficult to use.
A scroll saw I bought was the worst purchase I ever made. The first day of school was a failure. It was a waste of my time and money. I ended up with a piece of trash and $150 in the hole.
My clip that holds the blade had a defect. In Skill Support's opinion, the part was discontinued, and that was when the saw was discontinued, so a refund was issued. It has taken over two months for this issue to be resolved, and the check has not been received yet. If it weren't for that, I think it would be a good saw.
Despite the fact that you can spend hundreds of dollars on scroll saws, and I am sure the old adage "you get what you pay for" is right, I will say with this scroll saw you get much more than what you are paying for. ZERO problems have been encountered in the three separate projects I have completed.
But then two out of three pieces broke and there aren't any replacements available. You can even learn from creators. Don't spend money you don't have.
