The motor in my Dewalt saw died four months after I spent $350 to have it repaired and properly lubed. In the end, since buying a new motor would have added $250 or more to the budget, I replaced the saw with a Jet 727200K, instead. I am so happy to see such Much quieter, much easier to change blades, much less vibration, better table (I had to struggle with the DW788 all the time to get the blades set at 90 degrees to it. Whenever I tried to step on it, I slipped. I will begin with one simple suggestion 1). I am also able to use a magnetic light with the metal housing, which is not possible with the plastic Dewalt. Although it is only a matter of time before we find out if it will last, I am pretty confident that I will be good with it since it has a solid five-year warranty. Additionally, I'd like to mention that I returned the first saw I ordered because the clamping system did not work. Initially, the blades on the replacement saw needed to be tweaked by adjusting the set screws in both the upper and lower blade holders, but once that was done, they worked perfectly.
Taiwan is the country where it is manufactured, and the warranty is five years. The unit includes a stand, a foot pedal, and a few Styrofoam had been used to package the saw, so this protected the saw from any damage. It was ready to use right out of the box, even with the blade About 30 minutes were needed to put the stand For when I am not using the saw, I added locking casters to make it easier to move it out of the way. It is easy for me to remove the casters if they aren't stable enough. A nickel will stand on its edge at all of the lower speeds on the cast iron table, but there is a small amount of vibration at the highest speed. A durable and quality product seems to have been produced. When I cut some test cuts on 1/2 baltic birch plywood with the saw, it cut.
owned another brand of scroll saw that we really liked, but it died and wouldn't power on anymore. We own a couple other Jet tools/sawdust collectors, so we decided to purchase this Jet scroll saw. This one, I feel, should have been purchased sooner rather than later. The difference between the two cars was amazing the green beast was so noisy and smooth. My favorite part is the speed with which blades load. The difference between good and bad is real. This saw is a good investment. If you are thinking of purchasing it, do There will be no disappointment for you.
A harbor freight $69 saw was the tool I was using to start scroll work. Is it frustrating? You can bet on it. Those who purchase the Jet will not be disappointed. It was an eagle that I created as my first project using the jet. It is likely that 50 blades were used during the fret work. The process is so simple! On my Jet
, I posted a picture of my very first project. If you would like to do scroll art, please contact me. This saw is a great buy! There is almost no vibration and the noise is just freakin' awesome. Leaving my shop right now is not an option for me.
Is as advertised and works flawlessly. The fact that I can tilt the blade rather than the table has been very helpful, and the motor produces enough power for all of the cuts I've made to date (up to 2” thick softwood). Aside from saving me a lot of time, I also like the quick release on the blade. My overall impression is that it's well built, and the customer service was helpful when I needed it (over an assembly question).
It has been 4 years since I did. Since I bought the scroll saw a week ago, I have used it for approximately 15 hours. As a user, I love the way the arm stays up when needed and how smooth it runs. Setup for the software was easy and I was able to test it right away. You will need a metric allen wrench and box wrench to open it. You will have the manual if you download it prior to purchasing. Several of the things I am trying to do are hard for me. Sometimes, I'm unable to keep the blade in the holder at the top. My blades have broken due to this, which causes me to slow In the upper holder, I am having a slight problem getting the blade into the correct position. In the quest to find the best means of ensuring that the blade is at 90 degrees, I still have a few questions. There have been no puzzles for me to make so maybe I will be a pro by then.
Who knows, I might be able to add more in the future. It just caught my attention that I had written a I still use this almost every day even though it has been 4 years. It works well and I have put over a few thousand hours on it. I do encounter a problem once in a while, but it is definitely worth the money. The operator accounts for a portion of it. I want to thank Jet for making such.
The scroll saw is a fantastic tool!.
The blades on this scroll saw are so easy to replace that I have never seen or used a scroll saw like this. There is no sound coming from it so it does not disturb anyone else in the room.
