I had tried two Dewalts (actually two, but I'm only kidding), and this one is far, far superior. A solid base is important in order to prevent vibrations. In addition, the QuickClamp is highly recommended if fret work is to be done. As a result of the parallel arms, there is very little forward and backward movement of the saw blade. A solid base reduces vibration and noise drastically There are no hassles in regards to changing blades, and it's as easy as it was with the Dewalt. It's really the simplicity of the engineering that I like most about it. There is always an advantage to machines that are less complicated. The machine truly deserves a five-star rating.
I like the saw well enough, but the blade changing and inside cutting systems are below what I expected, especially for what I paid for the saw. Cons a lot of vibration at high speeds blades don't last as long as they should.
The ease of use of the software.
Although the table is only a few inches wide, the saw is quite good and runs smoothly. The table isn't big enough for me to give it a 5 star rating. A saw like this one would have been impossible for me to afford, had I not purchased it at an estate sale for a fraction of its new price. As for the second point, I will present it. It's a 5 out of 5. The base is too small, though the product is well-made. There was no way to keep it from tipping It wasn't going to tip over one way or another, so I screwed a piece of plywood to the bottom. It is not too easy for this stand to tip over, so I would give it five stars if not for that.
