Questions & Answers

The watch is still made in Taiwan, or is it made in Mainland China?

This product is not made in Canada, it is manufactured in China

The blades on this machine appear to be of what kind? Please pin me! Do you want a plain or a blunt end blade?

The blades of the end of this tool are plain. Great machine, it just won't let you down, I love mine!

Can you tell me if the stand and the floor petals are included?

There's no need to worry about anything. The package was very well packaged.

My saw arm is stiff and very difficult to lift & lower since I just got it. Could I add some WD 40 at the swivel point of the arm to make it better in time?

My saw arrived damaged with the arm difficult to lift, and it's been making me very uncomfortable. The seller is getting it back. To replace it with another saw, I have ordered one. You will have to turn it in on Monday, September 24. In addition to the saw, I ordered a stand to mount it on. Assembling it was not possible because the nuts and bolts were not included. In addition, I am returning it to you. The replacement Stand arrived today, but it too was broken open, and guess what, the nuts and bolts needed to assemble it were lacking. It is China at its worst, this seller does not meet my expectations!

To get it running, the program had to be tweaked a lot
3/5

I do not have any support! The eighth update for 2019 is here During the first two months, the blade clamp assembly was made out of wood. Waste of time and resources An aluminum housing with a steel bolt. As it comes with a two-year warranty, there shouldn't be any problems. It was in the manual and I was able to get the 800 number. I got a call from a call center looking for a $100 Walmart gift card for sale. I accepted. Get to the web site and click This company is now located in Ohio. Nobody knows where I am, nor what my phone number is. There is only an online form through which to contact them. Many have been sent in, but nothing has been heard CPO (who sold it), however, is out of the picture after 30 days, so they're not much use. As a scroll saw user, Excalibur used to be in the top layer, but after the recent purchase I feel I made a mistake and should have purchased a Dewalt or Seyco instead. "- " I bought it at the price I paid because I was so excited to find it at a low price. Unfortunately, sometimes the real world does not match our Prior to plugging it in, I carefully opened the box to verify all parts were there and read the manual. Checked the setup procedures to make sure they were done as per the manual. I can't get my upper arm parallel to the table in the first place. It is a different size in the books than how it is in reality, but no matter what I do it still looks different. I have to meet the specs for the front before I can talk about the back. In this case, the front of the arm is out of specs, but the back is in. It's not right that the front is a little low and the back is a little high, so I split it. Having been sitting at my workbench, I plugged in the first blade, fired it up and put the first blade into the system. There was almost a vibration from the bounce, it was so intense. Honestly, I thought they were going to be super vibrating and. . . Are you sure? After reading a few forums on this issue, I came across one where an Excalibur tech advised checking this one bolt under the inspection panel on the rear left side. If it is As one could expect from popping the clutch of a 1957 Chevy, mine spins like the rear wheels. I have a wrench in the backside (what an ORDEAL that is). Is this what I get? There is no movement in the bolt. Trying to tighten it doesn't work. The boulder does not move. Oh well, thanks a lot. To get some leverage on that nut and bolt, I have to try to taking the entire top arm housing apart, but even that won't be easy, and it's not completely clear on how to go about it as it can't take the entire top arm housing apart. This is what I still think is causing my troubles in this area. Then I started checking all of the other bolts. There were only 4 bolts that were not loose! They were the ones holding the platform to the unit. Despite my efforts, the vibrations became lessened as I tightened them up. A large wooden roll around stand (about 60 pounds in weight) was built and the Excalibur was bolted I tried that and it helped some, but if I set the speed close to maximum, the darn thing will even shake my stand!.

This saw appeared to be in good condition, but was used and damaged upon arrival
3/5

As soon as I received the product, I was eager to start using As soon as I saw the shipping box, however, I knew I was in deep Both the outer and OEM boxes were badly damaged, since the OEM box had been opened, repacked, and damaged already. My new saw wasn't the one I bought and my return was an obvious return. As far as I could figure out, I couldn't get it to There would be no way to use it as it would not work properly. As far as I can tell, this is the third time I have received an item that had been returned or had been used instead of a new item. Return of the item has been completed.

Machine is fine

Box is beat up but I will continue editing this review and adding more pictures as I get it set up and use it. 12/30/2020
I will continue to edit this review as I use it and add updates. It may change from time to time how many stars I give. Right now I'm only giving it two stars due to the fact that the box arrived in such poor condition. As a large investment, I felt I was taking a chance, but after reading the previous reviews, I felt that the tilting head, the 21" table, the foot switch, the included stand, and the dust collector fitting for attaching the shop vac Here's a closer look at the packaging and what I found inside the box when I opened In a week, the machine had arrived within the order date of 12/28/2020. That thing came to me intact, so I guess I'm lucky. There was literally no packaging on it when it arrived from Fedex. There was nothing other than the plastic strapping to hold In any case, the driver said it was in such a bad state when she found Using my own hands, I unloaded it from the truck. There was a huge upside-down television in there. I have only unpacked it and placed it on the bench so far. Until now, I have not assembled anything. In any case, after cutting the straps, a little pulling on the box caused all four sides to come loose. As a result, the cardboard had decomposed and was Cardboard tends to become extremely fragile after it gets wet and then dries out, so this is evidence that the box had been wet at one time. The unit was attached to a flimsy board at the bottom of the bottom of the box and evidence of water was found there. As you can see in the picture, this is exactly what's happening. It is definitely no problem for something to get wet, provided it is thoroughly dried out. So, in itself, the moisture evidence does not seem to be an issue, but the fact that the box was soaked somewhere along the line is just a sign of not being very careful in handling things. As you can see in the picture, two of the four "feet" of the machine were bolted to a thin veneer board inside the box. As a result, the bolts had ripped out of the board and the board was cracked and broken due to rough handling. The things are manufactured in China now and en route to the markets they pass through an ocean voyage in a shipping container, and then they are loaded and unloaded several times as they move from trailer to trailer. Since I have worked on a freight dock myself, I understand the process. After containers are "floor loaded", the boxes are moved across the dock to a semi trailer using pallets, and then the containers are In my case, after they have been dropped at one distribution point, they will go to another and another, and so on until finally they have been moved through the Fedex system (multiple loadings and unloadings) and then they arrive The dock workers tug and lift it by the straps at every stop. Moreover, they couldn't care less if the box was upright, upside down, or on its side. The straps are used primarily to handle the bag. Styrofoam blocks were placed on all sides of the machine inside the box by the manufacturer to cushion it against shock and vibration. Thus, the styrofoam pads were able to protect it as long as the box barely managed to hang on. By the time the box got to me, it was at the end of its rope. The packaging was inadequate in the first place, and I suspect the machine barely made it through the journey. In addition to the tilted pose upon arrival, another indicator that the manufacturer did not package this product well enough to protect it properly from the normal rough handling it would receive in transit is that the box was not well packed. It seems they thought they secured it well enough when they packed it up in the box, but either they did not secure it well enough or it encountered some sort of impact during shipping which caused the head to move forward by It was pointed out to me that the installed blade came with the machine was pushed up against the work plate due to the tilted head. Due to the fact that I have only unpacked the package so far and have not yet noticed if the head is damaged or the blade is still good, but I did order a separate blade assortment at the same time so, if the blade is bad, I will There were also a couple of empty plastic bags inside the box, which I found a little disturbing. Both the bag with the foot switch and the bag with the rubber feet were there, but I have no idea what the missing hardware might be. Little things could have fallen out of the box due to how beat up it was. As I go through the process of setting it up, it will become clear. We'll have more to say The system is set up and is working fine as of 16/2022.

The service that follows the Even the best of us can have accidents, and we know this is a fantastic saw However, what do we do then? On my saw, the motor just quit
5/5

It was disappointing to call the warranty number expecting to be transferred, put on hold, or made to jump through hoops, only to be rejected or placed in a long line waiting for a There is no evidence of any of that happening. A model of exemplary behavior was demonstrated by General International. As soon as I called, I was connected to a manager from the American Division. I had to send a copy of the receipt of my purchase to him to better identify my problem. It was one week later that I received a new saw. It is this kind of service that we should provide Let me fix that problem for you. "Oh, I see, there's a problem. The goal of all companies should be to achieve this. Thank you! I am very satisfied with your product.

In the event of a product malfunction, General International will not respond at all
3/5

Purchase is not a good idea. For units that fail to function properly after the 30-day return period has passed, there can be no further assistance provided. Phone calls are not returned and emails and forms sent to the company are not responded to. There's one I bought new, and it rattles and vibrates, is non-functional. Even if I send it to be repaired, I can't do it.
