Questions & Answers

What would be your recommendation for a beginner's scroll saw? Are you able to hear everything?

The saw is a decent one to start out Then I switched to a 16" variable speed saw after getting this one. The Moto is the best machine for small crafts and projects so I keep it around for a backup and to make ornaments and such. With this saw, I have made beautiful things, but it has a 9" throat, so if you decide to make a large project, you will need to cut it into Those are some of the pieces I have intarsia done in that way. On this saw, you can easily cut out small puzzle pieces. One thing I liked about cutting the bear puzzle was that you didn't have to change the blade tension very often. That will be performed by the saw on its own. It will give the proper tension after turning the blue handle on the arm and putting in the blade. It would be great if my big saw would do that, and with a big saw you have to be careful when cutting because the slightest side pressure can create a kind of bevel cut you don't want. When it comes to sawing, the Moto saw is very good. A good wood to use on this saw is plywood and Baltic birch, but hard woods require a lot of time. You shouldn't force the wood into the blade as this will result in the blade breaking. I hope your day is going well,

How do you power it or run it with a Dremel?

It is not necessary to install Demel. That's actually quite a small saw all by itself, and you can use it anywhere.

Do you also get the piece that allows for angled cutting? Would you mind letting me know what the part is called, if not?

There is no fence/miter included with the device, but it is listed as an optional accessory in the user's guide. Voici l'excellent response I received from Dremel customer service *br>Thank you for contacting us, we will be in touch soon. In our Service Center, we offer the Miter Gauge for the Moto Saw. It is a MISC part, and requires the locking levers, which are included with the There is a $5 charge. I add $2 to that since I paid $00 plus taxes. It will cost you $50 to ship.
*br>You can order this by calling our customer service department.

Do you have any idea if it is possible to cut acrylic plastic sheet 3mm thickPLEXIGLAS and finish the edges in an acceptable manner?

Yes, you can get very good results.

The saw is very nice, but there is a drawback
3/5

Although it is a very nice saw, it has two main flaws that cost it a two star rating in my opinion. **Range 1 - You will not find a miter gauge This was my first time cutting a very soft and very thin aluminum sheet (2mm) and I ended up destroying 3 blades (straight cut, no curves, no angles) and the cut was merely 6 inches long. It is a saw that can only be used for wood and plastic, contrary to what is said in the false advertisement for As for the rest, it works perfectly on wood (I have only tried soft wood up to 1/4 inch thick). It cuts straight or curve with sharp curve angles with no problems at all, I purchased this saw because I needed something portable, lightweight, noiseless and small. It depends on the height of the table that you fix it to ergonomically and a switch pedal is highly recommended as the switch is difficult to reach while cutting,
The blades are easy to find where I am but I don't like that they are exclusive to this saw. Having said that, I'm a bit disappointed with the saw because of these two issues. Otherwise, the saw could have been the perfect tool for working with small.

However, this product didn't come with a
4/5

I've purchased it and love it, but My love for the product was tempered when I realized it didn't come with rip fences or miter gauges. Without it, it would have been difficult to cut straight lines. It is for this reason that I did not give a 5-star rating You will be graded based on stars. It appears you can order directly from Dremel, according to an online blog I read. The 1-800 number for Dremel's Customer Support was busy when I reached out to them Please dial 800-552-1222 This is 437-5 He found out it was true when he looked up 3635. The S&S period between 1955 and 1960 A total of $8 will be generated from it. A hundred dollars).

It's great
5/5

I just received my saw a few Seeing as how I make a lot of wooden crafts, I was excited to give this a shot. The standard scroll saw I normally use is a full-sized machine, so my expectations are The experience did not disappoint me. It managed 3/4" pine better than my big saw for 3/4" pine. I use it to cut 3/4" pine and 1 1/2" pine. The truth is that you aren't doing any slower than the It took me more than five hours in my work shop today, most of it spent The issue was not at all a problem. There was never a break in the blade. It gets a grade of A from me because I am very tough on tools. There is no difference between this one and one with a larger With no problems, you can get around that as well. A larger saw can also be changed easier than a smaller one. I've also got a workbench attached to it, so the size is another plus. It takes up space I could be using for something else if I had my big saw on a stand. It is probably time for me to sell my big There are no better saws out there.

There was a part of me that wanted this to be good
3/5

There was something about this product that I really liked. It is, however, terribly disappointing to me. I used it to cut a soft piece of pine wood for the first time and I was pleased with the result. My blade kept pulling to the left when I attempted to cut again. As soon as I changed the blade, the problem persisted. The alignment of the saw blade is such that the blade keeps lining up with the far left that it is nearly impossible to cut with it as it is too close to the presser foot so it will eventually break. It makes me so sad that you're disappointed in me. There is no way to return it it was an unnecessary waste of money and time. It is worth it to spend a little more money on a quality item. I am planning on sticking this in the back of the closet until I can save enough money to buy another one. It was a really disappointing experience.

The design is good, but the execution is poor
3/5

It would have been nice to like this scrolling saw, but the overall experience was not that impressive The pros include Please note It is portable. The device is provided with a sturdy plastic case, which can be used to store it when it is Please note The speed can be adjusted in several ways. Please note Handheld or attached to the table, it can be used for a variety of purposes. The cons are Please note There is a cheap feel to it. The u-shaped ones are not for sale All of the parts except the handle and rails, the sawing mechanism, and the base rails are made from If only the top of the sliding surface was made from aluminum, that would have been great. Please note that It is easy for the blades to bend and they are too thin. Please note As long as it does not encounter really soft wood or materials, it will not get stuck too much. This is what I used to cut through PCB boards (which are really thin sheets made from resin or plastic) and it would always get stuck no matter which Please note It gets stuck easily, resulting in inaccurate cuts when the blades shift position.
- In this case, the blades do not stabilize and become unstable. However, the package does not include any guides, despite the fact that the base is built with metal rails. Please note Each blade is packaged in a bag, so it is not easy to distinguish between them.

AVOID THE IDEA OF BURNING your money unless you can burn your own
3/5

Having read all the reviews on this product and comparing it to other products, I chose to order this one as a final Poplars up to are okay, according to the literature. The length of the cloth I'm cutting is 75 inches. There is no doubt that it sets up quickly, but the good stops there. It's finicky to install the blade so it catches perfectly - you have to get the blade in just right so it catches effectively. When the blade popped out of its place while running as you can see in the second photo, it cut through the guide. The problem I had was not clear until about 5 inches had been cut. Due to its inability to back out, I had to leave the blade in the wood. Having replaced the blade, I attempted to cut on the other end of the board, and that blade bent after cutting about 2 inches. Although I have used a lot of power tools and built houses and other furniture over my lifetime, this is the worst excuse for a power tool I have ever used. Although this would not have been a deal breaker if the saw had performed better, it was difficult to remove the tool from the base. I had to use my knees as leverage to remove the tool which meant I had to take off my gloves. Disconnect the base of the table from the clamp. The one I'm returning will be.
