How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

A wide range of cutting tasks can be accomplished with an electronic variable speed machine from 400 to 1,750 SPM
By using a dual parallel linking arm design, vibrations are reduced, controllable over-and under-cuts are eliminated, and quality is improved
For blade changes or for fret work, the upper arm is lifted and locked into a raised position during blade change.
The blade clamp allows blade changes to be made easily and quickly, without using a tool. A bevel left and right ranging from 0° to 45°. There are two motors in this motor A 3 amp power supply
All of the knobs and switches that are conveniently located on the front of the arm, such as an on/off switch, electronic variable speed dial, flexible dust blower, and blade-tensioning lever, make the unit easy to use.

Questions & Answers

The price difference for this saw and the Dewalt DW788 is substantial. What is the primary difference between the two?

There is only a small difference in some exterior sheet metal but nothing to do with the inner workings. By purchasing the Dewalt name, you will be paying for the brand. It used to be the same company that owned both of them.

Despite the saw being great, and the hold down not staying put, I find it a little difficult to use. The wood moves with me as I move it. I would appreciate any thoughts you may have. ?

The one I had was in my way, so even though it held just fine, I removed it. As soon as I began getting used to the saw and the forces involved, I began ripping into the wood.

Are there tools required to change the blade on the left side? What is the 'thing' on the left side? I was disappointed there was no light. Is there one ?

It has an adjustable hose on both sides that blows puffs of air (generated from the up and down motion of the upper arm) which keeps your lines clear. Changing the blade is simple just loosen the thumb / wing screw on the top arm and In my garage, I have a shop lamp hanging from the ceiling that serves as my light source. Woodcraft and Rockler might sell magnetic lamps that might attach to the saw - check them out if you like. I am not sure if the magnet works everywhere, I have not tried it

Are you able to guarantee delivery to me by 3/11 with free shipping included? Home Depot has had this item in stock for over a month now. ?

Since I'm a customer like you, I cannot make any promises about Home Depot and Amazon, but I can say that both

To replace my old Dewalt scrollsaw of 20", I was looking for a 20" one
5/5

The saw had been lost a few years ago, and I couldn't afford another one, so I have been using several 16" saws at a lower price. Throughout my search, I could not find a tool that would compare to the quality and ease of use of the Dewalt, so when the money came along, I went As soon as I looked at it, I saw that it has parallel links. After buying this parallel arm saw, I have decided not to buy another one. The parallel link is different from the parallel arm, so what's the difference? This is a complicated system, but parallel links are less vibrating, all controls are located right in front, and the blades are moved much more quickly between holes. There were several comments on this saw saying it was the same as the Dewalt, but with a different label, paint, and a lower price, so I thought I'd give it a chance. Yesterday, I received it. When I opened the box and read the instructions, I learned that the saw was already There was no truth to this. It was not attached to the bevel guide and knob assembly, but was separately packed, and there were no instructions regarding how to assemble the set. As a result of reading other reviews where the writers complained the knobs were broken, we believe you are correct. After remembering that my old Dewalt had also arrived with a broken knob (which they promptly replaced), I realized that somebody must have determined that if the knob was attached before shipping, it would be vulnerable to damage in transit, so they have packed it without it. I had a bit of trouble figuring out how to assemble, but there were only four parts to find, so it wasn't too tedious. Having to wait a week for a new knob would be worse than having to take the time to assemble the door. the table was a simple matter of sliding it into place and fastening a couple of Upon assembly, I was able to see that the Delta saw was not the same as that of the Dewalt. It is quite similar, but there are some differences being noted. The big difference is that the right arm is raised when you move or exchange the blade because there is a locking pin. Depending on how I wanted to use my DeWalt, I had to either pay extra for a device that held up the arm, or make a block to hold things In addition to this, the Delta has a covered compartment that can store spare Basically, it seems like someone at Delta saw the sales Dewalt was getting for their saw, saw how they could make one just as good at a lower price, and that they could have done this by looking at the Dewalt sales. After using the Delta for one session, I have to say that, so far, it is just as good as the Dewalt. If the prices were the same, I would have a hard time choosing one over the other. They both fall into the mid-price range, which makes them top of the line. It is my opinion that the machines in the thousand dollar range are of great quality, but if you are using an inexpensive 16" saw and would like to upgrade to something larger, this would be an excellent choice. You will be amazed at how much easier it.

After it was delivered to me, the saw seemed to vibrate a lot and make a lot of noise when the speed went over It has been disassembled several times to try and determine which component is at fault
4/5

In the last step, I loosened the counterweight on the motor shaft and moved it closer to the connecting assembly, then tightened it again. As a further measure to reduce movement, I added some nylon washers on either side of the pivot arm shaft. Mechanics didn't seem to be able to hear any noise or vibration when I put it together. As I did some research, I found that the DeWalt saw 788 has had many of the same problems. I was disappointed that it was going to take me so long to fix, but I'm thrilled with the result A brief update There was a dire need for lubrication on the saw. As if it were a sewing machine, the saw runs now.

After using a 18" Porter-Cable unit for several years, I upgraded to the 21" Saw blades for cable work
5/5

The price difference between these two units is relatively modest, but this unit is a completely different entity. This blade keeps its position, is quieter and has a wider range of speed adjustments. It vibrates less as well, and is much less likely to move than a conventional blade. This scroll saw also has a small blade opening that is drilled directly into a large and comfortable cast steel table instead of a flimsy and flexible plastic insert found in many comparable scroll saws at the lower price point I no longer have to worry about small workpieces getting stuck in the insert. Therefore, for the first time ever, it is possible to work on intricate projects without feeling frustrated or having to compensate constantly for blade wobble, vibration, etc. I will admit that the device isn't perfect. The major complaint is that it has a badly written It takes more time to assemble the saw than shown on the booklet. For example, there are no instructions on how to install the tilt knob or screw needed for the hold down foot. The value is still superior the instruction manual is sloppy, but that's to be expected. Many people complain about shipping damage, however Amazon's return policy allows them to get their money back. Furthermore, mechanically, this saw appears more or less the same as the renewed $500 Dewalt DW788, yet it costs a lot less.

For the price, this is a great saw! Recently acquired my third saw in two weeks, I had tried a Ryobi and a Porter Cable first, but both have not live up to expectations
5/5

I could not believe how well the pieces fit together, and the table was perfectly leveled A blower is attached to the air conditioner. To tell the truth, I used the Internet last night to get the manual, read it, and watched a YouTube video on how to assemble the device. It took me less than 15 minutes from the time I cut the box open to the time I made my first cut. Despite the saw not being bolted down, it is whisper quiet and produces very little vibration. We would like to recommend this to everyone and would make another purchase if necessary.

Thank you for the delta
5/5

I love it. My scroll saw has been in my possession for a few months now, and I absolutely love it. There was only one issue with the delivery. A small piece of the dust blower tube had broken off. As long as I removed the broken piece, I was still able to use the device. used to have a Wen before this one and it was hard We used it a total of three times before selling The best purchase you've ever made!.
