By the word "composite," we mean that it can perform both a bevel and a mitercut simultaneously. The saw in question is a dual bevel saw, so the head can slide both left and right so bevel cuts can be made from the top left to bottom right, as well from the As an example, consider a board that is flat with the saw being perpendicular to the board but angled to the Regardless of whether you want to make a mitered cut or not, the angle of the whole saw head in relation to the board to be cut is determined by turning the handle in front left or right. View the flat board once As the miter saw cuts on a diagonal line, the blade is at a straight angle to the board. *br> *br>Because this saw can make a miter and bevel cut at the same time, it is called a compound miter saw. It is possible to get two cuts from the same In addition to the "sliding" miter saw, the saw is also a circle By doing this, instead of cutting horizontally, you could pull the saw head towards you, turn it into the extended groove as it cuts, and then let the saw head slip back into place as it performs the cut. As a result of the sliding capability, the saw has a longer reach and can thus cut larger A compound miter saw is the most common type. There are those who are "slipping" and there are those who While anyone can make a sharp bevel, most do so in a single direction (usually left) and not in a dual direction as this one is. Each can work on a miter cut to the left or It is my hope that this
You will not receive a stand with this package. This saw fits nicely and is easy to mount since I got it separately.
Thank you for contacting me Sean Harrison. This model comes with the blade. You are welcome. Thank you.
My mobile work station just arrived, so I measured it as I was preparing a mobile workstation to use it. By using the foot print (which is important since the miter saw head swings left to right and sticks out both in front and back), you can determine the width in front and back is 23 in each direction. The number five. 16 is the depth on both the left and right. The number five. For each foot there is a hole in which a bolt or screw can be inserted. Based on measuring from the center of those holes, it is 20 centimeters. The width of the window is 5 inches and its depth is 13 inches. It takes a full three inches to cut wood on the table (where the wood is placed for cutting). 75" in diameter. That should be helpful.

The saw has only been with me a few hours, so I will adjust the review based on my use of the saw. Due to the new nature of this saw and there being almost no unpaid reviews online, I was wary of making the purchase, although most of the saws I own are Skils, so I took a chance on it. I have been very pleased so far with the quality of the aluminum and the First I thought the saw felt cheap considering it would be made of cast steel but after realizing it is mostly made of aluminum my doubts began to disappear. Besides being very solid and tight, the blade also has a great feature called the LED shadow line. Also, it appears that it is on point right off the bat. The light weight could be an issue for anyone that does not plan to mount it permanently in a workshop or use it on a solid stand. I'm not saying it will not work, just that I'd be concerned about For a saw that is light, it's a relatively high price to pay.
The first time I took it out of the box, I was very dissatisfied that none of the angles were accurate. One would think the manufacturer would double check that 45 degrees was actually 45 in the 0-degrees. The square is cut to the degree. Furthermore, it seems that the tilt cannot be set to zero, so when you cut a piece hoping for a square cut it actually doesn't work either way. I hoped it would be a perfect fix, but none of my ideas worked. Neither the depth of the cut nor the settings are adjustable. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with this saw and I cannot even sell it to someone else since it is so inadequate.
I can buy any saw for $1, so I'll start by saying I can afford it. I have a budget of $0 to $100k. This one caught my eye on one of the review sites on the internet, so I decided to go with it. The headline of this review implies that it is a good tool for your average homeowner. There is no need to spend money on features you will probably never use if you have this. This should help all of you who are considering this saw to know that you will not be disappointed if you buy.
My first time buying from Amazon was for a significant power tool. In fact, I would do it all over SKIL's compound saw is one of the best saws available. Solidly built, it has a long lifespan. It has been very helpful to have the arms on each side extended. With the laser lighting, there is no better way to know where the saw will cut than when you use the light. There is no question regarding the angle markings Using a saw that claims to cut at 45 degrees only for the cut to be anything other than 45 degrees is awful - it is what it is. The saw will take care of that issue for you. Whenever you use a saw, you will be generating a lot of sawdust, so the dust catching bag is a huge advantage. This saw has been used quite frequently, and I am still getting good cuts out of the original blade it came with. It is also used for compound work for molding and trim, as well as general household repairs. The fears I had regarding purchasing a major power tool online have been dispelled, and I will return to Amazon in the future to purchase more products.
There are a lot of features you can use to make your projects unique. I made a few things with the saw, as you can see in the pictures. In terms of overall quality, this saw is excellent. It is a big plus that it slides. It is also useful to have a lighted sightline. Despite its shortcomings, the stock blade works pretty well. It's the clamp that I have a problem with. Some of the pieces do get pushed out of alignment from time to time by Although a screw clamp definitely appeals to me more, a minor issue still remains. All it takes is a little readjusting and you're good to go. I recommend it for home DIY'ers who need all the tools they need to complete The saw is a very good value and has many good features. Among some of the projects pictured above are the chair, the sofa bench, the cedar planter, the cedar side table, and the wood shed, all made with the Skil 10" miter saw.
Thank you for your kind words. I have noticed no apparent jerkiness in the rail action. There is plenty of power in the motor. The blade action through the wood was effortless as I cut rough sawn red oak earlier this week. It helps to know where the blade falls easily with LED cut lines. They're not as sharp as DeWalt but are clear enough so you can see where the blade lands. Originally, the stock 10" blade was not up to par, so I replaced it with a 10" Makita blade that was higher end. This saw weighs about 1/3 less than a 12" sliding DeWalt. I paid about $400 less than some of the other big name, 12" saws. While these other saws are very good, I believe the 249 I paid for this saw is a fantastic deal. Even if it cost $349 I would be saying the same thing. The first thing I would do if I were looking for a 10" slider would be to look farther than the standard model.
Since he is only just beginning to work with wood, my husband's exposure to different models was solely from his colleagues, friends, and research on Before choosing this one, he had been working on it for nearly a year. The features of this model are similar to those of higher-priced ones, and he is happy to note that some pieces of the model are made of metal instead of plastic. The arbor size wasn't stated anywhere in the item description so he had to ask the manufacturer and they replied within a few seconds. This item also comes with a blade, which is not mentioned in the product It was a sound purchase with a lower price that made it worth it in his opinion.
Homeowners will find this to be an excellent tool for the money. In the resort towns of Colorado, I am a finish carpenter working on multimillion dollar homes. It is not necessary that I have the same (very expensive) equipment at work for my home shop. My first impression of this saw has been good, and so far, I am really happy with it. Taking the Ryobi and maybe not quite a Bosch or Festool step above Skil's goal of offering a great tool that is affordable is a great angle to drive.
