What's not to like about the Bosch GCM12SD? br>br>For the past 26 years, I've worked in the construction industry. I've used almost every tool manufacturer on the market. Miter saws come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and flavors, and I've used them all. I needed a miter saw after launching my own company. But which one is it? From previous experience, I knew I enjoyed Bosch tools. I also knew that my budget wouldn't allow me to start with a lesser brand and work my way up to Bosch. I signed up for a one-day workshop. I've had a chance with this saw before, and I haven't given up. . . Neither has this saw. br>br>It hasn't skipped a beat after years of chopping up whatever I can throw at it. This beast is unstoppable, from delicate solid maple inlays to railroad ties. 60- Most miter saws would throw in the towel if they had to cut degree angles on 4x6 posts for a landscaping triangle. This is not the case. Those cuts were as smooth as butter as a result of it. br>br>I'm fed up with erroneous reviews and ratings. "My item did not arrive on time, 1 star," "the carrier appears to have dropped my item off of a 48-story building into a pool of lava, 1 star," "my item did not arrive on time, 1 star," "my item did not arrive on time, 1 star," "my item did not arrive on time, 1 star," "my item did not arrive on time, 1 star," "my item did not arrive on time, 1 star," "my item did not arrive on time, 1 star," " br>br>Let me do my best to make this as useful as possible. Anyone who has used a sliding compound miter saw knows that the dust it produces gums up the slide mechanics, restricting movement and, eventually, cutting off fingers. With their axial-drive technology, Bosch solves this problem. system of glide Mine is still as smooth as it was when I first got it. The slide mechanism no longer requires a foot and a half behind the saw to operate. It's as if the glide folds and unfolds on its own. I'm still blown away by how well this system works. No, this saw doesn't come with a laser, crown stops, or someone to help you carry it around. If you require these items, you are in the incorrect industry and do not require this saw. Despite the fact that mine was made in Malaysia, I'm confident it is now manufactured in China. What's not to like about that? That's not to say it's a cheaply made hunk of junk knockoff. A blade is included with the saw. br>br> The blade, unfortunately, can only be used to throw at trees. (WARNING! That is not something you should do. Invest in some Freud Industrial blades as a favor to yourself. The 60T is one of my favorites for the "not-so-serious" situations. delicates," as well as the 72T for fine work. You'll need a stand with wheels if you plan on moving this saw from jobsite to jobsite. Although these stands can be folded for storage, they are nearly two-dimensional. To do so, it is the responsibility of a man. This saw is heavy and awkward, so I never fold mine. br>br>There isn't much else to say about this work of art; it does exactly what it should. Purchase it if the price is within your budget. You know where to go if you make bad decisions or if your favorite color is yellow. br>br>In conclusion, the only criticism I have is that it does not offer me a beer at the conclusion of a job well done.

It's been about three weeks since we got the saw. It was delivered in perfect condition. I looked into Milwaukee, Hitachi, Freud, Dewalt, Makita, and Festool before buying this machine. Jet saws. I was given a hands-on demonstration at a Woodwerks store in Columbus that features Festool. It appears to be a fantastic machine at $1,400, but the Bosch is also a fantastic machine, and the price difference is significant. My son and I own a cabinet shop, and I needed a replacement for my 35-year-old Makita Model 2401 10-inch miter saw. For a long time, we've been chopping off hardwood boards that were too large for the small saw to handle safely. I had been considering this machine for over a year, but with a price tag of $750, I wanted to make sure it was durable, accurate, and easy to use. The price was raised to $799 two months ago by Woodwerks. I had decided that purchasing it before the price rose again would be a good idea. Then I discovered that Amazon had the saw for $599 with free shipping. They've sold me a couple of machines: Others include the Bosch Barrel Jigsaw, a 15" Jet Planer, a 14" Jet Lathe, an 18" Jet Bandsaw, and a 15" Jet Planer. All of the items were delivered on time and in good condition. As a result, when it comes to Amazon purchases, I have a high level of trust. br>Spending this much money on a saw was simple. Others have criticized the weight, the noise, the inaccuracy, and so on, and I'd like to address each of these points individually: br>WEIGHT: : : : : : : : : The Makita 2401 is extremely heavy, weighing more than 50 pounds. It was one of the first Japanese miterboxes to be imported into the United States. It was almost impervious to damage. The Bosch 12" Saw is lighter in weight. However, because it is larger, there is a physical handling aspect to consider when moving it from site to site; it is not as light as my son's DeWalt 12" box. Negative feedback should not be a deterrent. br>EXACTNESS: I've never bought a piece of equipment that didn't need some final tweaking. Typically, the factory settings are quite good right out of the box. Each tool, on the other hand, will need to be set up if you want to produce high-quality work. Taking the time to go through the process will help you understand how to make the necessary adjustments. It also enables you to recognize when something isn't working properly. Allow 2 hours to make the necessary modifications to: the detent plate for the miter saw, as well as 2. the scale of verticality I checked/adjusted the horizontal and vertical cuts with a 4"x4" cherry piece, and discovered that by moving the vertical indicator arrow to the left side, it is easier to achieve a more accurate and repeatable angle adjustment because the vertical angle is not detented. br>NOISE: NOISE: NOISE: NOISE: NOISE: NOISE: NO Because there is no gear clash, belt-driven saws such as the Hitachi are quieter. I've used other saws before, but this one is more user-friendly. ON THE MOTOR SIDE, CUTTING HEIGHT: One reviewer expressed dissatisfaction with the saw's capacity of only four blades. On the motor side, it's 5" tall; anyone who remembers the old Rockwell Sawbuck will remember the 7. 5" blade. Yet, by utilizing the long range of motion available when the workpiece is laid horizontally on the cutting table, we were able to make wide cuts in trim materials. The goal of any SCM saw is to enable these cuts by learning how to set angles in the flat plane. On the internet, you can find cheat sheets that will show you how to use this useful feature. If you don't plan on using this feature, this saw isn't for you, and you'd be better off investing in a DeWalt 12" miter saw. br>KICK OUT OF NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONBr>KICK OUT OF NON MOTOR WITH A SOFT START: This motor has a soft start mechanism. An older saw, such as the Makita, might be worth a shot. You'll notice that this is a nit-picky situation right away. Picking to the limit. SWITCHES FOR SAFETY: On the top of the handle, there are two safety switches. You can cut from either side and find a convenient safety switch for either hand, but there is a learning curve as with any tool. I know a man who decided to disable the safety switch on his miterbox because he was missing two and a half fingers. Understand how to put it to use. TABLE IS NOT FLAT: This table has a flat surface. MEASUREMENTS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN PUBLICLY DISCUSSED: On the left side of my workbench, I mounted this saw. To get the measurements I needed to set the height to match the workbench, I had to wait until I got the saw in my shop. I would never use a written measurement as a basis for determining a critical height. It took less than an hour to unpack the saw, set up the mounting surface (bench), and install the saw. This was cited as a reason for the reviewer's "downgrade. " This is unreasonable, and it demonstrates that the review is at best incomplete and unreliable. br>DUST COLLECTION: Some of the most ardent critics of this saw would be satisfied by a dust collection system on any of the machines in my shop. Even the Festool, which costs more than twice as much, is unable to achieve this. LASER - A laser is a type of light source that is used to create a beam of light. DIM: If you're a beginner, the laser is crucial. If you're a craftsman, your eyes are your most important tool. I have yet to discover a laser that can match the clarity of my aging eyes. br>br>Conclusion: br>br> This saw is the best of its kind for less than $1,400. The DeWalt and Hitachi SCMs are plentiful in Woodwerks' repair department, with the Hitachi being the quietest and easiest to service. I'm struck by how full the shelves are. I noticed side to side movement in the display models that used the two round tracks to support the sliding mechanism, which I didn't see in the Bosch. I learned a lot about reading the different reviews, especially from the writers who complained about things that are not really part of the machine. 90% favorable reviews to 10% disgrunt If you require a machine of this type, purchase this one.

I've been doing this for 5 years and have never had a problem. I liked how it could be tucked away against a wall to save space. I was in the process of opening a new store and needed to purchase another. There is, however, one significant change that no one appears to be discussing. The 90-degree elbow that connects the dust collection bag to the dust collection hose was previously made of hard rubber that could be easily adapted to fit a dust collection hose. To neck down from a 4" flex hose to a shop vac hose to the saw, you can get a reducer from Rockler or Woodcraft. It's nothing to get worked up about, and it's to be expected. The new one, on the other hand, has a hard plastic elbow with a riveted flange that prevents any type of adapter from being attached. Take a look at the five images included in this product listing. The bottom four photos show the old style rubber elbow (which works), while the top photo shows the "new" style, which does not. What a bait-and-switch, to say the least. I'm enraged to the point of being enraged.
