Metabo-HPT C10FCGSM 15-Amp 10" Compound Single Bevel Miter Saw (Renewed)

Works great, and I'm glad I bought it to build stairs and walls out of 4x4 plastic landscaping lumber. The good: Cuts normal 4x4 (3. ) with a high-speed blade that makes smooth cuts. 5” x 3. It cuts through material quickly like a chop saw (5") in straight and 30 degree cuts, and the cutting table is 3" wide when set on a flat surface. Because the table is 5" higher, scraps of 4x4 can be used to support long lumber while it is being cut. Gripes: The dust extraction system isn't very good; you'll need to connect a vacuum, but there's no adaptor and it's not sized for one. I included photos of the clean cuts it makes in wood and the clean 30 degree cuts it makes on plastic timbers (which are extremely difficult to cut without leaving saw marks and this saw barely leaves a trace).

It appears to be in good condition, and the motor is in excellent working condition. The turntable had become completely immovable. I could easily cure it with some lubricant, but I shouldn't have to. To make movement easier, I also loosened the top screw. The turntable locking system was a mystery to me because there were no instructions or user manual included (or even a link to said docs), but it's simple once you figure it out. I'm still having trouble loosening the blade hex screw, but I'll figure it out. I'm not sure yet how it cuts.

When I was constructing a large screened-in porch, I purchased this item. in porch. It cut through planks quickly and accurately, and the stops for miter cuts are precise. The blade lasted the duration of the project, and I even used it to cut composite tile for the bathroom. For that, I reversed the blade to ensure a clean cut. I'm very pleased with my purchase, and I'll be able to put it to good use with my other home improvement projects.

This miter saw is ideal for those who are new to woodworking. It made me very happy. This was borrowed from my next-door neighbor, who had an old Hitachi model. The main distinction is that this one is a nicer shade of green and has a safety switch. It appeared to be brand new when I got mine from an Amazon warehouse.

There are no issues. It's a $75 saw, nothing more, nothing less. I'm a handyman who can fix almost anything. As a result, it is battered and tossed about. It still cuts well.

Cross-cutting is easy with this miter saw. (I used an aftermarket fine finish blade to make the cuts). The factory screw sets, on the other hand, do not provide precise bevel cuts at the standard 45 degree angle setting.
