Questions & Answers

Is it possible to cut 4 in. x 4 in. timber with it?

It is possible to cut it in one cut if you use a chop saw with a 12" blade, but only if you make 2 cuts. An arm saw with a radial arm would be another option. Nonetheless, it is also in need of a 12' blade.

Do I have the option to plug this item into my current circuit using 220 volts in my country?

A single phase 120 volt AC power supply

What is the cutting capacity of this saw for a 2x6 and a 4x4?

In one pass, the saw is capable of cutting a 4x4 but not a 2x6 using the same blade, even if you roll the board back up after There is a practice called rolling a board generally practiced by carpenters, but it is faulty and is very dangerous.

If you can tell me what power plug this item uses, I would appreciate it. The plug I need is for an Australian outlet since I live in Australia. Would you mind giving me a shout out?

It is probably more important to have a good voltage than a good plug. There is a 110 volt electrical system in the US. You might be better off looking on Amazon if you use the same power as the UK. The company. The United Kingdom. Wishing you the best of

This is a super For the last 10 years, I have owned over 5 miter saws and I used them heavily
3/5

I had no idea that a power tool could be made in China until now. It is hard to compare Makita to my expectations when it comes to quality. Play is possible due to the flexing of the angle dentent lever. Despite being thin and unreinforced, the blade guard is thin as well. There is a sloppy paint job on the angle indicator arrow. It feels cheap to use an angle lock screw handle. In terms of alignment, it's not very good out of the box. It is only because it is extremely light weight and I have a wrecked back that I will put up with these issues. There are some very positive aspects, such as the high-quality motor and wonderful machining on the fence and table. I own Makita power tools, which are the best in the market. Japan, the USA, and Taiwan are all the places where those are made. Despite trying every brand from Germany, my results have been disappointing. that Dewalt has returned to manufacturing in the US, I usually buy their products.

Weighs less than 2 pounds, but provides plenty of power
4/5

The author has done a great job The saw was made of a powerful and lightweight material, easily transported to the work site, and the blade was durable This is the type of tool that you would use in a small workshop like mine. already own a few Makita power tools, and have been pleased with their performance. Seems like the LS1040 is a very promising power tool. Thus far, all of my shortcomings have been attributed to design decisions and engineering. There must be a reason why Makita did not set the blade to always be able to cut There's a little remnant of 1/8" left. I have never felt so close to home Rather than giving up, why not go all out? specify that the maximum cutting length is 5 inches I would say it is about 1/8" but it is actually a little bit more. Furthermore, the vertical vise does not close tightly enough in order to hold a 1x member without the need for an additional bit If you want to prevent vise marks on your work anyway, this may be a good step to take. However, it would be nice to not have to handle the additional piece of blocking when vise marks would have been taken care of. The item as a whole, however, appears to be a solid and compact piece of equipment that, based on my previous experiences, I expect to have many years of good service. I should add It does not come with a light, contrary to what the description says.

Miter saw is great when you need to move around
5/5

It's been a couple of months now since I've had this saw and it's been great so far. The portability was an important factor to me when looking for a miter saw. Carpentry is my trade, and I do a good deal of trim work as well. About 90 metric tons of material can be handled by a saw at this size In a typical middle class home, 95 percent of the trim will be installed. It has been observed by others already, but the saw does not seem to be Someone described this song as starting "with a bang. " I think that is the best way to describe its sound. I like it for its precision, light weight, well-made, and reasonable price. If you are a professional or a DIYer, this saw is for you.

Achieve the highest degree of accuracy It would be nice to see more accessories and aids included
4/5

To make sure I didn't buy a faulty product, I read a number of online reviews of the Makita compound sliding miter saw by wood working contractors From Makita, a sliding miter. They came to the same conclusion as me. There are a few things that make Makita a great circular saw. First, it is simple, yet it is very accurate and easy to adjust for precision work (all contractors tested agreed that it was the best saw Among Bosch, DeWalt, Craftsman, and That seemed to be the case to me. The Makita I tested is comparable directly to Ryobi and Rigid (10 inch wide compound sliding). The cutting aids on both are good There was a laser and a light shadow, but neither was as precise and easy to adjust for precise accuracy that the Makita was. The Makita might have been 5 Stars if there had been more work aids and accessories included. In my opinion, the rigid is a 3 Star saw when it comes to accuracy. This is a 2 Star rating for Ryobi.

Together with my friend Makita, we resurrect a fence
5/5

Having just purchased my first mitre saw, I'm still learning the ropes. My fence was knocked down by a snow plow, so I bought this one to replace it. I used pressure treated lumber as well as PVC for this project. Our hundred year old home is in really good condition, and I am looking forward to using this saw regularly. This item is listed as made in the USA on Amazon. My first thought was that it was made in China, but my second thought was that I wasn't so sure of that. As such, I did not sense any compromise in the quality of the film. I really like the ease of use of this Adding to that, I would like to add The blade left me with a problem after I followed the directions. It proved to be a real challenge to remove the bot holding the blade assembly together. All six of the tools I used - the socket wrench provided, a crescent wrench, Vice-Grip pliers, and a ratcheting socket wrench - failed to resolve the issue. Finally, the bolt was loosen by whacking it with a rubber mallet. I used the hammer a few times to force the socket wrench to release. The above information is shared with any other buyers who may experience the same issue. The saw is still one of my favorite tools regardless.

This is an excellent miter saw that is powerful, accurate, and simple to use
4/5

The saw is really nice. Made of heavy gauge materials, it appears to be well made. There was some discussion regarding the braking when stopping, but it does have a strong table and fence. The accuracy of the cuts when cutting angles was superior as well. I gave this product four stars since the sales add clearly states "Made in the USA. ". Although, it is not made in the USA. Chinese manufacturing is responsible for making the complete saw. I also find it rather dumb to have two legs at the front to mount on a bench or stand. It is very easy for the front legs of the saw to crack over time due to the considerable torque it is applied with when starting and stopping the saw. A back leg was modified in order for mounting to be possible on a.

Gift giving seems to have been a success this year for me
5/5

I bought this for Father's Day as a present. My knowledge of tools is rather limited, so I put in a lot of effort and research into these things. The situation concerned me His use of it may be limited - he wasn't sure how much he would get out of it. It seemed like a great gift to give on Father's Day, even if he has no intention of using it. After receiving the equipment, he has been working on project after project so it appears that we are getting the most out of it so far. He will, however, randomly start a discussion, usually about how nice it is (usually in relation to feature X, Y or Z). In the present, he is building a skateboard ramp with my son, and it's going great. There are endless possibilities here, so I guess I can just use my imagination. The blade seems to last a long time, and this allows for easy movement and there is very little dust everywhere. Overall, from my observations it gets a solid thumbs up from me. In the end this product met our needs - I'm glad we chose it The response to any other one would not have had such a positive outcome.
