It is hard for me to understand the difference between the two. Can you tell me what year it is? As far as I know, the one I purchased is very good. It was just a matter of cost when I made that decision.

I am very pleased with this saw. This trigger speed controller is very powerful and allows for smooth The elliptical table I cut out of 1 1/4" ash was cut with it. The cutting process was very smooth and it is able to blow the dust off the cut line and light I really enjoy not having a cord on my phone! The UK manufactured model has a dust blower which, while similar to the cheap but less advantageous one made in China - and at least as important as the light - and this is the one made in the UK. The dust from a jig saw will always cover any line you are following.
I have it now! It's a nice saw, but changing the blade is ridiculous! I have a Bosch corded one and it's great. What an awesome set up! The jig saw has a lot of power, is smooth to operate, and is even better when you change the blade. Makita has released yet another awesome tool.
Despite the fact that I purchased this through Amazon, I did not use their services. A slower and inefficient version of Elite tools is available. The saw was on a special
offer at Home Depot, but I've gotta say, it's one of the best saws I had ever owned! A second one will be ordered for my son as well. The cutting blade is very useful for recycling boxes. It is also a great jigsaw that can be used on a regular basis.

In my opinion, this is the best jigsaw I have There are at least a half dozen that I have had. When you have a sharp blade, you'll be amazed how smoothly it can follow any shape. It's a hard life for Makita.
Taking it in your hand, it feels heavy. Make sure the battery is balanced by loading it. No cordless can match the power of this. I like the way the motor blows away sawdust and the light keeps you conscious. This is a nice controllable jigsaw.
However, I do not see any significant differences between the US and European models. I saved a couple of bucks and got a great jigsaw.
