I've been doing so many projects around the house that I've finally decided to invest in some new (and desperately needed) tools. I decided to save money on this jigsaw by purchasing a factory remanufactured unit, and I'm glad I did. I can't tell the difference between an old one and a new one - It's as good as new in terms of appearance and functionality. It comes with a plastic case, and the only thing that makes me think it's not brand new is that there appear to be slots in the case for additional accessories that weren't included with this unit. However, you will receive a clear plastic piece to fit around the blade to prevent splintering and a plastic piece to fit underneath to protect the wood from being scratched. I didn't like the clear plastic piece because it collects sawdust and makes it difficult to see where the blade is in relation to the line you're cutting. br>br>One of my favorite features is that the blade moves very slowly if you press the trigger in just a little bit; If you push it all the way in, you'll get full speed. When beginning a cut, it's easier to control. If I had one complaint, it would be that it is a little difficult to see where the blade is - To see where it is in relation to the line you want to cut along, you must lean in front of it or off to the side. br>br>Overall, it's smooth and powerful, and it's served me well. I'm glad I made the purchase.
This is a foregone conclusion. After receiving and putting this little baby to use, I just gave away three more jigsaws. The cuts in a treated 2x6 cedar and pine were fantastic. There is very little vibration and the cuts are smooth and clean. This, as well as my Grizzly band saw, will see increased use in the future. Before redoing my pergola, I wish I had taken the relatively low-cost route.
Base wouldn't stay in place, was underpowered, and couldn't keep a straight line, to say nothing of its inability to negotiate a curve cut. The Bosch JS470ERT, on the other hand, comes with a 7. 0 Amp Top-End-End-End-End-En Jigsaw is easy to handle and cuts like butter. My first oval cut (in a countertop, a cutout for a lavatory sink) wowed me. It not only cut to the line, but it was also very smooth, so I didn't have to sand or clean it up. br>It comes highly recommended.
I've owned and used other jigsaws before, and while they functioned well, they were rarely enjoyable. Using a jigsaw has never been more enjoyable than with this Bosch. It's quiet, silky smooth, and oozing with power. After a long period of use, my hand does not become numb, and my ears do not ring. There isn't a saw that I can think of that is better. I couldn't tell the difference between a factory refurb and a new one. br>If you're on the fence about buying this, jump over it.
The product was delivered today. It was shipped in a Bosch-approved box. When I first opened the box, I was astounded to find everything in working order; I couldn't tell the saw had been refurbished! It not only looks brand new and comes with a hard shell case, but it also works perfectly! If you want a great jigsaw with variable speed, look no further. This is a fantastic option because it is simple to use. You have made a financial saving.
For the same money, I could have gotten another battery-powered saw that couldn't cut a 2x6 without skewing to one side, but this saw cut the 2x6 like butter and was very easy to keep straight (even through knots). Mine arrived in perfect working order.
This is a fantastic jigsaw puzzle. My only complaint is that when I lift the tool off the workpiece, the clear splinter guard falls out. This is inconvenient and wastes my time recovering and reinserting the guard; however, if it weren't for this, I would give it five stars.
Love it! This Jigsaw is extremely well-made. We've worked with a wide range of materials and have cut them all. Foam insulation, drywall, wood, and corrugated metal are some of the materials used in construction. This is an outstanding piece of equipment. Mine has been refurbished and is manufactured in Hungary. So far, I've been very pleased with it.
