Questions & Answers

Can anyone tell me where the extra washers can be stored? How can I possibly put these things somewhere we can find them? It's driving me nuts. ?

Many of the neat little spaces that are designed for holding the equipment's accessories are designed by people who don't use it themselves. In a box, near the sander, I keep all of the washers, sanding sleeves, and drill bits I need. As designed, the goods or materials stored inside a storage area would end up covered in sawdust and would need to be washed by vacuum or air gun every time a vacuum or air gun was used. You can also use a cigar box (or some other similar container).

Is this sander capable of sanding to a height of actually 1.5 inches?

As long as the rubber core is flush with the sanding drum, the kit is ready to use A 3 3/4-inch safe sanding height (the distance from the table top to the bottom of the drum along the downstroke) is ideal. It sands up and down at a speed of 1/2 inch, so total stroke length is 4 1/4 inches.

Do I have a lemon on my hands? sanding sleeve on the machine's largest axis slides forward when the machine starts, so no pressure can be applied. Which is the best course of action ?

The sleeve might be to blame. The one I have works fine after I tighten it down. I would contact the manufacturer regarding the one I have.

What is the volume like?

The noise level is much lower than belt sanders. In case I do a lot of sanding, I would wear earplugs. During sanding, the noise level is around 60 to 70 decibels. Sanding with a belt sander will result in 70 to 80 grit. Use for a long period of time Plugs for your ears

This is an amazingly affordable tool that is amazing in its functionality! The sander in this example is the least expensive of a batch that is virtually identical except for the paint and ring color
5/5

There are no differences in the internal workings. This sander does not matter what color it is, so if you don't care about color, this one is the best choice. It also looks nice! Despite the fact that my plastic rings are yellow rather than As shown in the photo, the table is square and flat to the shaft and the oscillating action is smooth. I love the way dust is collected. There have been some comments about the dust port not fitting the end of the hose. this group, I recommend the unsung hero in the case This rubber connector adjusts to fit different pipe sizes. are available in a range of sizes and are equipped with stainless band clamps that are suitable for fine tuning the inside diameter to ensure the Below I show you the one I used to ensure a well sealed, solid connection between my Festool 27mm hose and my Festool 5696 hose In addition,.

It is a good value for the price
5/5

You can get what you want out of it, and it is built well. This is a powerful machine. For a bench that had deteriorated, I specifically bought this to replace the deteriorated wood on the bench. As you can see in the picture, I shaped my rough cut after sanding Great job! I can't wait to use it in the future. My main issue was the lack of adequate storage for small pieces, but I was able to fix it with a cheap sandwich bag. In some reviews, it says that tightening the nut on the spindles is difficult and the sandpaper sleeves don't stay in place. After I used the 3" roller and the sander, there was no problem. I made sure the sleeve wasn't slipping before using the sander. Although it wasn't as loud as my vacuum for spring cleaning, it is still louder than mine. It was easy to connect my Ridgid vacuum hose with some duct tape, and the dust was collected well. The 80 grit sandpaper sleeve in the sandpaper sleeve of this cedar 4 foot board looks untouched after sanding it, I can still tell there is plenty of life left.

Surprised in an enjoyable way
5/5

Since I last felt this satisfied with a last-in-line product, I cannot recall the last time I was this pleased One of the best power tools available. It was extremely leery of me to buy this product. I have become frustrated by the cheap, low-quality wood that is available in my hobby so far Tools that are marketed to the general public. It is not uncommon for them to look just like the "real thing". After you get them home and try them out, you realize you made all kind of compromises just to come up with that low price.

I might be an exception to the rule, but this WEN may have proven itself to be the exception. This product is well fitted and finished, it's extremely functional, and it's obvious that there are compromises but no major issues for my job. I chose this table because it is cast iron (or steel) rather than melamine (like another model I considered). There are some rough patches on the finish Glass isn't smooth as if it were milled. The surface was sanded with a high grit sandpaper. At this price point, I expect that there will be an upgrade The extra steps at the end are not worth the money you pay. My work seems to be accommodated by the table's generous size and flat surface. It is smooth after it is coated in paste wax. I had to use the wrench that came with the spindle nut, even though the illustrations do not depict this. You've done a nice job there. I've used it to sand hardwood band saw boxes, and it works fine. The sanding mechanism is effective. It has enough power for the purpose. Although I let it do the work for me, I have not caused it to stall or bog down. This machine does a great job at capturing dust. My dust collector isn't very good, but it has been able to collect 99% of the dust output from this machine. That is very pleasing. Cheap sanders often do not have a good dust collection system. Generally speaking, I find it to run smoothly enough and not vibrate too much. When I use the right grit of sandpaper, I am able to efficiently go from rapid stock removal to final polishing A final sanding is required. It appears that noise is the main subject of compromise in this case. There is a howl in this sander.

You might also want to wear earplugs.

It would also be helpful if there was a place to store If they don't fit in the cubby, then you can return them to the spindle when you're done with them - but it would have been nice to have one in the base. The wrench has one as well, just like everything else. The bottom line is this you'll have to pay four times as much for more based on what I've seen. If you use this in a hobby or light professional setting, this is not disappointing to me.

You'll be glad you did! The WEN customer service reached out promptly emailed me complete instructions because I did not receive them in the box

Got this from Amazon at a great price. Works as good as one twice the price. I would rate the machine as fairly quiet, well built, and it does what it was intended for. It will be hard to remember how you ever survived without one if your woodworking requires inside curves. I was buying the "best" tools with the highest price tag but I am finding that WEN power tools do just as good a job for.

I think this is an excellent unit
4/5

With this spindle sander, you have a great option for an entry level sander. Although it is not as nice as one that converts from a belt sander to an oscillating belt sander, it does not claim to be so. Taking frequent bandsaw cuts leaves pretty rough edges, so this tool is a must-have if you're going to use a bandsaw frequently. In my shop, this has been a great addition. Still trying to figure out the best way to protect the top, which rusts if it gets in contact with water less than 10 feet away. The pros are a variety of spindle diameters, good durability, and a solid top, while the cons are that the top rusts incredibly easily, and it is easy to over tighten the spindle nut.

It reduces sanding time to 1/4 of the time usually taken by hand
3/5

Having made a lot of intarsia, I found this thing cut down my sanding time. The first one burnt up after a short period of time so I think that it had been replaced before Amazon received the return in a remarkably short period of time. would just like to have access to sanding drums with higher grits as replacements. BROAD FORMAT UPDATED My sander has once again exploded while I am working on gift items for Christmas 2019. I have to wait until today to swap out the motor. My only purpose in sanding is to smooth out sharp edges. I am only sanding 1/2 inch lumber and nothing hard, such as oak. Due to a lapsed warranty, I will need to replace it with a new one.
