Questions & Answers

Are my toenails able to be trimmed by this?

My stomach hurts. In the past, I did this accidentally with a PC router on a router table, but never with this particular router. There is no way I would recommend it. In addition to trimming the fingernail, it trimmed the flesh and bone.

It can be used on wood doors, as well as on the frames used for the ?

however, it is far more useful as a hinge for a door or frame than it is as a router.

This tool requires a specific set of drill bits. Tell me what type of drill bits to purchase. MLCS 8377 15-hour power supply was purchased by me The router bit set comes with a 1/2-inch carbide-tipped bit Do you have inch Shanks and are you ?

There are four tenths of a inch between each tooth. A 1/2" router is required if you plan to use 3/8" (which is new to me) or 1/2". Since I first used routers 45 years ago, I have a lot of experience with them. A 1/4", a 1/2", and a 3/4" router are the things you need. The 1/4" router is the most widely used, as it can be held in one hand and your arm does not come to rest as fast With this tool you can install hinge guides and doors, trim laminates (laminate trim bits with bearings), and round over the edges of boards and It makes a neat no-slivers edge. I get 1/2" and 3/4" diameter cove bits (these will make 1/4 and 3/8" from the edges). I get these with bearings, too. There is no point in caring about it. We can't figure out how to take it apart to replace the cord. Instead of visiting the repair shop for $60, I am thinking about The shelf dice, usually 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch wide, are best created with a more powerful 1/2" router, but you can use two passes (overlapping) of a 1/2 "straight An example of plunge routing is as follows You should always use a dust collection system. You can do scroll work freehand A round bit of 1/8" or 1/4" diameter would be good. This is not what I do, it is what Don't buy a 1/4". It will do everything you need if you don't have a router or even a specific shop need. You might be interested in a $400 router table if you think you need one Don't do it. Your own jointer or a jointer that you buy will work. You will learn how to make jigs if you figure out how to make a router table (you can make a fence that is even more finely adjustable than the most expensive one on the market) and the direction of work. Running a router along an edge of a board should be done in a specific direction. This is true for plywood, pine, fir, spruce, etc. Splinters can be ripped out if you proceed in the right direction. The way to avoid this is to make a shallow pass in the wrong direction to knock off the edge, and then make a normal depth pass in the right direction. (I'm still unsure whether or not I want this router. It appears that six boxes were opened and reclosed The Home Depot ) at the moment. What's the reason?

Do you have any ideas how to setup this router for a table top?

It's a yes for me, in a nutshell. However, I am not sure if it can be found in commercially available tables. One may need to be built by you personally.

It is a rip-off
3/5

There is no way to use edge guide with plunge base without purchasing it separately. A neat little extra part used to be included in the plunge base but it is mysteriously unavailable now. You will see the JUNK we are being sold here in number 9). The Rocky 30 plunge base comes with the mystery part shown in the photo and can be purchased as an alternative.

I have only one word to describe what I experienced In just a few years, I will have 14 routers
5/5

The use of routers for all types of woodworking has taken me several thousand hours of practice. The reason I bought this router was that I wanted a light weight device with a bit more power than a laminate trimmer, but something smaller than a full-size You've made me impressed, color me. You will find that this kit contains every base, guide, and attachment you could possibly need. I was very pleased with the A well-made machine that is easy to adjust. It is a good bag for organizing things. Although I'm not a big Makita fan, this made me love him all the more.

My wait for this thing has been so long that I don't even know why I waited so long
5/5

Since I am an amateur woodworker, I have managed to function without a router for some time. Pffft. Amateur, you might be thinking to yourself, and you'd be right to feel that way. The reason I took so long to figure this out is beyond me. It was only after a YouTube endorsement from 'The Samurai Carpenter' that I decided to go for it In his review, he spoke highly of this This time I'm going to give it a glowing review. The kit I received is complete with an edge guide, plunge base, and the standard adjustable height base with the groove for screwing the edge guide to. *p>Reconfiguring the kit was pretty straightforward. You can change the base of the base easily with the latch lock. The latch lock provides you with a lot of options while you're working. My position in the plunge base changed a great deal during recent projects my team and I worked on A few minutes is all it takes. Despite its size, the body is not bulky in any way, making it extremely As a result, you have the feeling of using a very fat pencil, which is great for more involved routing tasks. My handwriting was so good that I was able to trace over some Calligraphy for a sign just like if I were writing it myself. (If you have never seen one or both, you'll need to make one) It involves a lot of intersecting lines, so I created a Chinese Chess and Go board. 6) Switched to the plunge base to do the dots where your pieces will You can drop it anywhere you want as long as you set the depth. It was only this router that made all of that possible for this project, and I am less than thrilled when I think about how cheesy it would look if I had to do it in any other way. It had been brought to my attention that I could draw it on with a sharpie after the poly was applied. What a terrible thing to happen. The motor spins up quickly for clean cuts, rather than moving the whole machine around, so you don't end up on the wrong side of the guide line. I am extremely impressed with this router and am certain I will be using it a lot in the future. Should you be considering this book, I would strongly recommend In spite of the fact that I recommend it, I still think you should consider If I had purchased it earlier, I would have saved a lot of money.

The parts that should be included are not! Although I am mostly satisfied with this router, I am annoyed by the products and tools that should have been included, but weren't
3/5

I would rate it at 5 stars, but I am not happy with the extra products and tools. In the hope that someone will read this and take action, I have written this to Makita's Big Wig person, responsible for customer service and product support. Exactly for this project, I specifically wanted a router with an offset base to do laminate counter top work. To sum up, I actually like this router a lot. There is just one thing that I dislike about Makita, and that is the fact that three additional items should have been included with There are three necessary items 1) Collet, 2) Collet Nut, 3) 6 mm Hex Wrench, the item in the 5th illustration of the instruction manual on page 10. With the exception of those three annoying things, I give it 5 stars.

It would be misleading to describe and show this (Three times in the description) this router accepts standard template guide inserts, which is not true
3/5

There is no template insert to be used with the fixed base. All those who use template inserts would agree it makes more sense with a There is a picture in the description of the plunge base with the necessary adapter installed, but fails to mention this is an additional item of 27 dollars that is In my opinion, I have been taken advantage of. The most complete router kit available from Makita is what I purchased, but I still need to purchase an additional part before I can complete the job (a plastic laminate inlay). In due course I'll write a more thorough review once I receive the adapter and have a chance to use this nice sized router. Note
After slicing through some laminate I decided to use an offset base to trim the edges. The first thing that stands out to me is that there is no hex wrench included for holding the arbor while tightening the collet Like my old Porter, this arbor housing has no simple and obvious holes in it Using a cable. You will also need a 6-mm hex bit in order to use this. I am feeling kind of pissed off again. My motor is very hot to the touch after cutting out a sink cutout and trimming 17' of laminate top. At this point, I am unsure how well we are going to get along. It's too short of a hike to return until the guides for the plunge base are available.

It would be a good router with medium power that will serve the most people The setup above is good for people who need only medium power, versatility, and want to buy just one router
5/5

I like the way it is made, the machining is very tight, and it is easy and accurate to adjust. In the past few days, I have routed 8 signs in fir and applied a hundred letters to the edges. It was mostly the plunge base that I used. I was able to achieve great results, and I can repeat them. I never had to cool down the motor or bog down the router while cutting a full 1, inch quarter-inch block. The round profile is achieved in one I don't notice a significant difference in dust collection. This is about what you might expect with all those chips flying everywhere. A good amount of visibility can be seen in the cutting. It is highly recommended that you get a Look forward to trying out the other bases as time goes by. *- The fifties.
