Questions & Answers

What does this base work with? Can you use it with the Makita router that is battery powered?

The answer is yes.

How do you know if this will work with your Rf1101 Makita ?

This is actually for the 1/4" handheld trim router RT0700c, a much smaller machine. A full sized 1/2 inch router, the RF1101 is constructed from metal.

(Now) great size, but the ability to move is limited
5/5

Rather than the Makita 18 V cordless compact trim router (round base), I decided to purchase this router base. Fit and finish are excellent, and I haven't regretted having a corded motor for any jobs I have done with it. Putting the plunger in and locking it works very well, and it feels solid in the hand. A smaller machine has more appeal to me than the big 3 horsepower machines. I found only some shady-looking sites in Estonia that generate microguide router base guides for this. Makita apparently makes this, but none of the sources I found were reliable. A set of DEWALT DW6913 Router Edge Guides with Fine Adjustment and Vacuum Adaptors made for this Makita router base went perfectly with it. It's no longer hard to work with precise edges and dice.

Despite being a great router base, there are no written instructions, so I'd have to guess at these features
5/5

My first experience with electric/battery powered tools is just getting started, so I'm still learning about these things. Trying to remember how these things worked is like trying to remember how to use them after having been in wood shop class in junior high. Still, I think the router base has helped me, because I'm coping much better with its functions. I like it much more than the base that came with my mini router since it makes using the router much more easy and safer. Using this new base, I can plunge the router into the material without having to adjust it, just by putting downward pressure on it. A lot of the adjustments were quite difficult when using the old base included with the router. It was much more complicated than this new base to loosen a clamp, set the depth, and then tighten the clamp. While accurate, it was far from simple. The new base's depth adjustment screw is so easy to use, and it also has three adjustments, so you can slowly get down to the right depth in the material as you wish. Three of the adjustments make it more convenient, as they don't have to be made all at once, but gradually, so that the router isn't overheated. I am, as I have been with most Mikita tools that I have bought thus far, very impressed with this tool. The only thing I wish was that this came with separate instructions because I would not have to guess how something works if I lost the router's instructions.

Now Makita's not the only brand to offer
5/5

is a wide range of Makita clones available at lesser prices and this accessory can fit them all. I really like how smooth the action is on this plunger adapter. This is my favorite depth setter because I can put the stops at any depth I like. The fact that I do not do a lot of woodworking allowed me to have this finish and plunge router without going bankrupt. My overall assessment is that I would recommend this book. Thanks for reading. I hope this has been useful.

I wentuged out the side wall of my router
3/5

It was sent to me Putting in my router went without a hitch. It was a little snug but it felt like a good fit, not much tighter As he tightened the lock mechanism, he said, "cool. ". I loosened the lock mechanism and tried to remove the motor again. I tried to move it, but it refused to budge. There was not even a wiggle from her. I tried to twist some, but nothing happened. We ended up having to use a wood block and a hammer to pop the seal After well-taking care of my motor, it now has two gouges that run down either side of it, and looking inside the motor, I see that you can see both of the other sides have been gouged as well. One of the flats on my motor lopsided managed to burrow into my pin side. This is an extremely disappointing experience.

An excellent complement to a compact, versatile With this, I was able to get the most out of You have to become accustomed to the lockout after a while
5/5

You don't really get much tangible feedback about what it is doing when it is engaged enough NOT The result of this is that I have to press hard on the lever to ensure engagement, so it allows some slipping off the template if I am not careful. As an alternative, I just apply enough downward force to engage the spring. As of yet, the product seems to be working fine. Several 3/4 inch slots have been routed into a plywood bed frame support so that there is more It took some trial and error with template guides (purchased separately) to get the job done, but the router and plunge base were helpful.

Makita makes a good product, but you'll need an adapter for the template guide
4/5

The perfect attachment for my trim router, this attachment makes inlay work effortless, it has a smooth plunge and friction lock, and it has conveniently placed side handles. To use this product, you will need P/N There are three templates that need to be added. At the time of ordering, this wasn't mentioned in the description. We are satisfied with our purchase in general!.

There is no longer a way to order! Upon closer inspection, the plastic base plate I received seemed very thin and cracked
3/5

It showed up that it was no longer available in a couple of places when I tried to get a replacement. The reason for the price reduction is because the sales volume has been boosted. The price was $117 when I bought it last June 24th. The price has gone up to The universal clear base I got here on Amazon is what I'm using to make a new one.

The product is not as depicted in the The router cannot be fitted to it
3/5

There are no model numbers on the part, and the Makita name is oriented the opposite direction from what it appears on the box. The part arrived with the box open and only the part inside. A previous victim had returned the item and it was simply handed over to another. The Amazon tools I purchased on Amazon are done.
