Questions & Answers

I am curious as to where the two twos will go Is there anything that a Dewalt router will be able to do that a HP router cannot? Do they differ?

That depends a great deal on what you intend to do with it. In this case, HP's claims about mid-range devices are almost worthless as both of these devices will satisfy the same needs It is possible to route according to size. The major flaw is 2 in the design. As a reminder, 618 refers to this. It is a DW616 rather than a DW615. The one problem with SO, "616") is that it cannot be used in an upside down router table without blowing up the bearings. IF you want a table, then the 616 will do. Additionally, the 616 has a quick start whereas the 618 has a slow start. Hence, the 616 is running full speed right at the start, whereas the 618 starts slowly and does not reach full speed until a second or two later. There are pros and cons to both. For myself, and others, the biggest problem is that the 618 motor has a faulty electrical connection. That's all right. There has been a fire problem. I love it. It is an unpleasant motor to use over an extended period of time, and the brushes will eat up like crazy. Using sharp bits with the 616 might make it seem like the 616 has a bit less power, but it's not noticeable. Most importantly, I would like to emphasize. While the 616 (the "weaker" of the 2) seems to run for a long time without catching fire, it is not very durable. In my opinion, I prefer the 616 when it comes to mid-engine cars Wireless routers that cover a wide range of distances. Although it can handle hardwood and even larger bits, the power is sufficient. I would recommend not using a plunge base style router if you are planning on closing giant bits or surface planing, and I would suggest a larger plunge base router with much more strength but a greater

What about this model being used as a router table (without ?

In fact, the spindle can be installed on a router table after it is detached from the base. The Kreg Precision Lift is the tool I use to use it.

How do I square the cost of sending to Venezuela with all that weighs this article? Hello good days - may I ask you a question?

Thanks for visiting! There is a 10 pound weight on the router. They do ship to Venezuela, but I don't know if they ship to other countries. It is necessary for you to verify with I'm from Puerto Rico and I'd like to wish you a happy Easter!

Has this Dewalt router got a light to allow you to see the working area better while the machine is on?

That's not true it doesn't have

It does not include a centrifugal gauge! In the product description, it states that it is a sub-product For the best results possible, a gauge ensures the bit is centered Accuracy is of the highest level
3/5

It is false to claim - " You will have to pay another $11 for it, not included in the price of the item. I found it for only 65 on Prime, so Amazon's value isn't as great.

There is a risk of fragile threading I broke right away
3/5

It came out of the box without any issue. It appears to be a very rugged device. I'm running into the same issue that another buyer is running into (read about it in the Dewalt website). The bit had a tendency to come loose after I placed it into the collet. Adding a bit more tension made it feel more secure. The bit fell out of the unit when I turned it on. It literally took only a few I noticed that the nut had stripped when I undid it. Unless I make some changes, I have a useless router now. A very disappointing experience.

I think it deserves 4 stars as it is a tool that is better suited for a table than for freehand work now that I've played with it thoroughly, I feel that it deserves that rating as well
4/5

The bit feels great in my hand and I like how easy it is to adjust the height. With woods of all kinds, including some difficult ones (I also use high quality bits), I've never encountered any problems with cuts. The router comes with 1/4" and 1/2" collets, and you need nuts and bolts to adjust it, but considering its price, it's okay. One of my biggest complaints is that the switch is difficult to reach with free hands. Stretching your thumb while making sure you have a stable router on the wood and that the bit is not touching the wood is a good idea. It is used to having the trigger on the handle, but I would appreciate it if it was low enough to allow me to flick it without having to let go of the handle. Due to this, I would say this is an excellent router for mounting in a table. It is also convenient for freehand work if you don't mind adjusting the on/off switch and using wrenches.

The Porter Cable on my computer was replaced
5/5

Originally, I worked for a custom wood shop, but now I make my own furniture at home. The brand we most favored, Delta (later Porter Cable), was an older, smaller PC model that I had at home. That model worked good for a long time and was small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. Unfortunately, it recently stopped working and is no longer manufactured. Most of the more recent PC tools at this time are poorly designed and created for the home market. They are not nearly as rugged as earlier ones. I couldn't find a clone of this DeWalt router so I purchased this one. This is what I was looking for. The size is a bit bigger and it is not easy to fit in one hand, but it is still small enough to be handled With this depth adjustment, little adjustments can be made better than the PC model, which does not allow fine I am totally satisfied after using it for a month and found it to be powerful to handle 1/4" or 1/2" shank bits.

However, it is an affordable and simple to use option
3/5

It is a wonderful router, however I have found the adjustment ring to be frustrating. I have found that regardless of how tight I tighten the adjustment lock, the adjustment ring will become loose while routing, resulting in sudden bit drops of between 1/16 and 1/8 inches. My product may be a lemon but after purchasing new and experiencing immediate problems, I was surprised to hear that Dewalt's response was to ship it to their repair center rather than replace it. In the meantime, I will tape the ring together and use the piece until I have finished my projects, at which time I will send it to be repaired.

Is a router
4/5

The only way I'm going to give you five stars is if you blow my mind. This is my second router, and I would say it's decent for the price. The hand-help type type was not my preference, but I wanted to use it as a fixed router in a table. Other businesses I own and operate For hand-held devices, D would work, but the router table I got (Bosch) would not screw into it. As far as I can tell, this one went well, and it There is a little difficulty in adjusting the height easily, so it's not as good as it could be. In terms of alternatives to a table lifter, I don't know that any of the others would be very beneficial also, but consider it nonetheless. Here's what I do Additionally, D is difficult to adjust the height and it does not have a table attached to it. In my opinion, 1/2" is a good size. The unit has been pulled out of the table and I have used it with the hand-held option when using 1/2" bits that I couldn't use This is my business and this is my life There is only 1/4" difference between D and D. Then I realized how little attention I paid to that. The hand-held worked fine at that time, so there isn't much to complain about. This one does a good job of powering through the material. We have so far worked well with walnut, cherry, oak, and pine.

This user finds the tool to be of exceptional quality
4/5

Generally speaking, I consider it to be a good performer. I think it's made of durable material. My favorite part of the depth gauge is Each unit is accurate to 1/16th of an inch. The fact that the power cord can be disconnected from the router itself is also great The cords are less likely to be damaged by being overflexed and storage is easier. On behalf of the on-line community, I wish In one of the handles was a switch that could be turned off. Plugging in the router requires that the Ethernet switches be turned off before doing so. In addition, you hold the router in one hand when you switch it on, which results in a slight movement when it starts due to the torque. The problem is manageable but not desired. It's not often that I need to use a router, so this one should do just fine. The price was excellent and it would be a good choice.

It is a wonderful router for the price
5/5

A great router for the price. It was a bit difficult to align the circular attachment with my Bosch router table, so take care. Despite the fact that the router is relatively simple, you can adjust it up and down very easily. This is something that is easily accomplished with the two wrenches included, and every time, it is a snap to install a new bit. I have noticed that the router doesn't vibrate as well Under my router table, I can easily adjust the speed of the motor. Cutting oak and maple with ease without burning them is easily possible with its power. We're not talking about a lightweight router here There's no size or weight limitation for this item. My recommendation for this router would be a resounding yes.
