Questions & Answers

Will the Dremel Flax Shaft 225-mm work for me? 01 with this piece of equipment?

Oscar, I went down to my tool shop to see if using the 200 with the Flax Shaft 225 was possible. 01, and it is correct. I hope this has been of assistance.

Is it necessary to purchase the chuck in order to use drill bits with this? Is that the case, and if so, which one?

My answer is incomplete because I don't use this tool as a drill motor. Yes, you'll almost certainly need an adapter to install drill bits, as the collet on the motor is designed for only one (and only one) shaft diameter. Without an adapter, your drill bit will not fit properly unless it is "just right." br>I'm unable to respond to the question's 'which one' part.

Is this tool capable of cutting a notch in a screw head?

Yes, that is exactly what I do with mine. Use it at a high speed and protect your eyes and ears. The metal cutting wheel that comes with the kit will suffice.

Is this a good model for drilling holes in semi-precious stones like sea glass and agate? valuable stones)? Should I choose a different model, such as the 3000, instead?

For slow drilling of stones and seaglass, you can use any corded electric dremel tool.

What I was looking for
5/5

I've been filing down our dogs' nails with a small battery-powered dremel for years. I had to replace the battery because it was starting to die. After that, the charger decided to go crazy, and I was done. My husband bought me a Dremel 3000 from HD, which was nice at first, but after the first use, the first speed stopped working, and the second stopped working as well. br>br>I came across this one and thought it would be perfect for what I needed. Only two speeds are available, as well as a smaller size that is more comfortable in my hand. We have two large Great Danes, both of whom have thick nails. Trimming and filing their nails is simple enough at this slower speed. High speed would be faster, but they are still young enough that any stress would turn a nail trimming session into a rodeo, so slow is the way to go! br>br>At a fraction of the price, this dremel has already proven to be superior to the 3000 model; I'm very happy with my purchase!.

I'm not very versatile, and I'm not very good value for money
3/5

I used to have a variable-speed Dremel, but it recently stopped working. Unfortunately, for some reason, you can't simply go out and buy a new drama. You must purchase the entire kit, which is an unnecessary expenditure. I bought this two-speed Dremel thinking it would be just as good as my variable and save me from having to buy a bunch of extra accessories I didn't need. It was, however, not a wise decision. I had no idea how inconvenient it would be to use a two-speed Dremel; the slow speed is practically useless; I'm not sure what you'd use it for. I tried using a cutter wheel on it, but it simply didn't have enough power. I increased the speed to maximum and found it to be excessive. A Dremel with only two speeds is useless for some projects, as you'll need a medium speed. This has almost no versatility and isn't particularly good value for money. You won't want to use a two-speed Dremel after having a variable Dremel. I strongly advise you to spend a little more money and get a variable instead.

It is both light and powerful
5/5

The 3000 was originally ordered, but it had to be returned due to a problem with the variable speed control switch. I'm glad I ordered this one because the two speeds are sufficient, and I believe the smaller size will make control easier. I prefer the Dremel brand because it is known for its durability (my father has an old 200 that he has put to the test over the last 15 years or so). Make sure you read the manual and run the motor for 5 minutes without any attachments to seat the motor brushes. Although it would be nice if it came with a case, there are companies that make universal cases.

I can't believe I've gone my entire life without owning at least a basic Dremel tool, but that's no longer the case
5/5

br>I chose the Model 200, which has two speeds: high and low. The $40 unit includes 15 different starter bits and a cool attachment for sharpening garden tools like axes, hoes, and mower blades, as shown in the picture. The unit was designed in the United States and manufactured in Mexico, according to the box. br>The components come from a number of different countries. This is an excellent way to get started with a Dremel kit, and the only thing I would advise potential buyers to consider is whether they want a corded or cordless unit. If you have any questions, call the Racine, Wisconsin phone number listed on the manual, and if Shirley answers, you're in luck. br>They may not be manufactured in the United States, but you can speak with a live person if necessary, and the product is excellent.

For the money, this is the best model
5/5

At work, we use these on a regular basis to cut and trim various metals and woods. We go through at least one every year and have tried a wide range of models and manufacturers. We always end up purchasing these, though. They're cheap, tough, and easy to fix when the brushes wear out. They merely function.

If Dremel comes up with a solution, I'll be happy to update this review
3/5

I was looking forward to receiving my first Dremel until I discovered that the collet is too small to fit any of the included bits? If Dremel comes up with a solution, I'll be happy to update this review.

Great for grinding large breed dog nails
5/5

I was tired of the battery dying before I could finish all four paws on my large breed dog after owning a couple of nail grinders (including one from Dremel). As a result, I desired more power and a non-traditional approach. battery. I decided to give it a shot after reading another reviewer's positive experience with it on their Great Dane. br>br>This Dremel is ideal for grinding the nails of a large dog. It comes with all of the necessary accessories and isn't too loud. The best part is that I never ran out of "juice," which I can put to other uses. It's a little heavier in the hand than Dremel's dog-specific models, but I didn't find that to be an issue (and I have a small hand). It will also work well with smaller dogs, but it will most likely be more than a small dog requires. If you have a large dog or a group of dogs, I strongly suggest it. br>br>Edited to fix a grammatical mistake.

I was let down
3/5

I'm not sure what happened, but I placed an order for this and it arrived at 6 a. m. Amazon is the best! But it was all downhill after that. The box had clearly been opened before, and when I removed the Dremel and accessories, it was clear that it had been used. It was also missing some components, such as the wrench for tightening it down. br>br>To make matters worse, the two-speed switch was broken. The position of the slow speed switch did not work at all. Unfortunately, I had to return it as soon as I received it. For years, I had a dremel that was well-made and performed admirably until it was misplaced during a move. As a result, I desired more. This is a waste of time. I'm not sure how Dremel was able to produce this. To be fair, it might have been fine before I got one that was either used or returned.
