Questions & Answers
4000-series Dremel 6/50 120- Variable Volt – What does the number 4000 6/50 vs 3/32 on the Dremel rotary tool mean?
Yes, it installs just like any other insert; however, you may not be able to tighten the accessory tips as tightly with hand tightening alone. Some users have also reported a slight wobble, which they claim requires tightening with pliers, defeating the purpose of quick change. It's fine for others.
It appears to have six functions (carving, cutting, grinding/sharpening, cleaning/polishing, sanding, collets/other) and 50 accessories (bits and parts). I'm not 100% certain.

The question is this: Are you sure you followed the setup instructions the first time? They recommend running the Dremel on high for 5 minutes at the highest RPM without any load. After 5 minutes, I could hear the unit running more smoothly. After that, I read that I needed to do the flexible attachment on high for 2 minutes while hanging straight. This was also something I did. Then I started using it and put some heavy loads on it, and it worked flawlessly, and it still does! It's a fantastic kit, and I'm very pleased with it.
When I first saw this set, I was overjoyed. I carve bones, and this set provides me with a lot of options. The flex shaft is included, which is a huge plus. Not to mention all of the extra bits and baubles. The photos are just a small sample of what I did with this set (coyote and raccoon skulls) in one sitting. Please accept my apologies for the poor quality of the lighting. To finish, I'll need to clean up a few lines and sand a little, but overall, I'm very pleased with this product and would recommend it for almost any project. Whether for household or otherwise, it's well worth the money, even at twice the price. br>br>I know we'll be using it to assist our son with box wood derbies. Smaller model designs are also available. Everything you could possibly need is included in this kit. Except, if you're using the flex shaft, you'll need a stand to hang it from. Aside from that, this is an absolutely fantastic kit. br>br>This is the all-purpose tool you've been looking for. br>br>I would also recommend investing in a good respirator if you plan on doing any type of engraving, etching, or carving, simply because dust (wood, glass, bone, metal) is unhealthy to breathe in. Just a tidbit of information for any crafter, such as myself. br>br>Thank you, Dremel, for an incredible kit and incredible products! You've gained a lifelong customer!.
The first order was returned because it had been opened and pieces, as well as the information booklet and paperwork, had gone missing. The second one arrived unopened and untouched, as if it had never been used before. I took a look at it before returning it to its case. It took a few months for me to find the time to pull it out and put it to use. I was lightly sanding the edoes of some woodenergy plaques with it, and I let it run for about 6 minutes before turning it off and laying it down. It would not turn on when I picked it up to restart it. I let it sit for about 10 minutes before unplugging it, replugging it, and trying it again. It turned on, and I continued to use it for another 4 or 5 minutes. I turned it off for a second to do something else, and when I went back to turn it on, it wouldn't turn on. I contacted customer service to explain the situation, but they informed me that it had passed the 30-day warranty period. I was dissatisfied with the outcome. I understand warranty time, but this was only used for a few minutes, and I'm working on a project that's due the next day. This kind of thing makes me think twice about buying things on Amazon. I understand that rare occurrences do occur, but I believe you should be aware when a customer is having doubts about your products or services. I appreciate you taking the time to read my comment.
The tool died yesterday after only a few months. Since July, when I bought it, I've used it a few times every week or two, for a total of less than 10 hours. There was no warning, no intermittent issues, and nothing happened when I turned it on yesterday to do some fine drum sanding. I took out the contacts, cleaned them, and then reinstalled them. No assistance after installation. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I disassembled the tool, blew everything out with compressed air, and reassembled it a few days after writing this review. put together YouTube, by the way, is an excellent resource for this type of project. The device started working like new again, and I've been using it at about the same rate as before with no problems since. While I'm disappointed it failed so quickly, there was a significant amount of very fine saw dust inside, which appears to have been the source of the problem. br>br>If you do a lot of fine sanding with this, you might have the same problem, so be careful.
This isn't the same Dremel tool that used to be the workhorse. It gets very hot and smokes if you use it for anything that requires a lot of torque (cut off wheels, for example). It appears that once you let the smoke out, it stops working. Dremel did replace it, but I was responsible for the shipping costs. I'll be screwed once the warranty runs out. The next time, I'll try something new.
I was really looking forward to getting my Dremel and all of my accessories because I had a lot of crafty projects planned. I live in South Korea, but I purchased it, along with a slew of other accessories like the dremel work station and plunge router base, while visiting my family in the United States. When I returned to Saskatchewan, I began working on my craft projects. I used it for about 20 minutes before the motor died with a loud bang. I'm currently returning it and planning to purchase a Craftsman, which appears to be the model that everyone else uses when their dremel breaks down. Unfortunately, I'll have to pay $40 just to send it back to the United States so I can return it. In a nutshell, I am very optimistic. A MASSIVE letdown!.
Years ago, I had a Dremel, which I enjoyed using until it finally died. I decided to spend the big bucks and get one with all the bells and whistles because it was a good stout machine for its size. It's a bad choice because it's powerless and the cable shaft slips even when there's no load on it. In fact, a workload cannot be applied when compared to the old unit. Dremel appears to be relying on its previous success without contributing anything new.
This thing is fantastic. To balance the motor and accessories for the dremel, you must run them on high for 5 minutes without anything in them right out of the box. Great power The one-star reviewers most likely didn't read the instructions, and the warranty is still valid on these IF you register it (it only takes 4 minutes), so don't say you can't return it. After 30 days, they'll replace it for $5 plus shipping.
