Useless. For more than 30 years, I've been wet sanding, polishing, and detailing cars. br>br>This product has the potential to be huge! br>br>It's the lightest polisher I've ever used. Build quality is excellent. It consumes a 5 ah battery inn10- There are 12 minutes remaining. br>br>I had hoped that a company the size of Stanley could have gotten it right. This is sadly a Suzy homemaker tool until they can make a tool that can effectively polish a car without requiring 15 batteries charged and ready to go. It is ineffective. br>br>.
At 800 rpm, buffs well for a simple wax and shine. Took it all the way up to 2200 to get rid of minor blemishes and flaws.
Used one 4AH battery plus 75% of a 5AH battery to polish a Chevy volt with 2 machine passes of the machine with 2 passes of the machine with 2 passe.
I was generally disappointed the first time I tried to use. It's being used in an RV. In some areas, such as going around square areas, the large size made it a little difficult. It takes some practice to get the hang of this, and you'll need to experiment with different types of pads to get the job done. It's also tiring to hold it sideways for that long. To remove oxidation, I started with a stiff pad, which was challenging. The process became easier and more effective once I switched to a softer pad. I set the speed to the slowest possible. Running it at a high speed, I believe, would easily burn the fiberglass. The larger 6 was also available to me. The batteries were 8 ah and performed admirably. A battery with less than 4 ah isn't worth the effort. Another issue was that finding the proper pads was difficult. TCP hook and loop wool buffers, 8" and iMountek 7" pads were among the items I discovered. Overall, it's a useful tool that I'll continue to use.
I was concerned about how long a battery would last because this is a tool I expect to use for extended periods of time, but after buffing out the entire front half of my full-size pickup on one 5ah pack, my concerns faded. Only having owned the DA for a short period of time I haven't had much experience with rotary tools for more than a few weeks, so I don't have much to go on, but after several hours of use, I have no complaints. Both worked as well as or better than any corded tool I've ever used.
I have a couple of corded buffers that I use frequently. Consider one that works even better and eliminates the need to keep a cord over your shoulder and away from the car or boat you're working on. It's pricey, but it's very nice; I've used it on two cars and a boat, and it's still running on the same Dewalt battery with no charge.
It was exactly as I had hoped. I have a large collection of DeWalt tools, and I've grown accustomed to their strength and dependability. This buffer did not disappoint me in the least when it came to buffing the paint on my 1972 Blazer. It has a variable maximum speed dial that lets you control the top speed, and it has a soft start that gives you more control. It has a loop handle as well as a straight handle. The loop handle is what I've been using. You can control multiple axes with the loop handle. With the help of my 1. It doesn't last very long with a 5 AH battery installed, but it does with a 4. Either 0 or 6. It will last for hours with the 0 Flexvolt batteries I also have.
This is exactly what I've been looking for. At a Cadillac dealership, I work as a car painter. I despise buffing a freshly painted surface with a cord. I have two 5ah batteries and have yet to run out of power while using this unit, so it is well worth the money. This is something I would strongly recommend to anyone who paints and wants to get their buffing done quickly.
This cordless buffer should have been available years ago! This is a fantastic device. It has all the power of an electric one, but you don't have to lug around an extension cord, hang it over your shoulder, or risk getting the wheel caught in the cord while buffing in an awkward position. High-quality, well-made Even when the battery is turned on, the balance is maintained. It is also incredibly light.
