Questions & Answers

Will this product work on stainless steel flatware that has light scratches? Can you please tell me what color to use and how I should ?

In fact, it can remove light scratches from stainless steel when used with the green compound. I was able to apply it to my stainless steel watchband with no problems.

Could you give me the micron size of this product?

The response I received was quick, which was great, but unfortunately, the information supplied was not at all credible. The letter I received looks like this. Here is a list of our best buffing compounds and the grits they offer This is a stock D2901 Rouge Buffing Compound In the range of 1500 to 1800 Two thousand and five hundred The D2902 Green Extra Fine Buffing Compound is a buffing compound that is green in color. The range is between 400 and 600 Sandpaper with a grain size of 600. The D2912 Green Fine Buffing Compound is an excellent microblending compound. In the range of 150 to 200 It has a grit of 220. The D2903 White Buffing Compound has the following properties The range is between 100 and 500 You should use a 120 grit paper. Buffing Compound - D2904 - Black A person between 40 and 60 years old Sandpaper with a grit of 50. ** - D2905 Tripoli Buffing Compound A person between the ages of 60 and 70 A coarser grit of 80. My second request for the micron size was turned away because they do not have the

A specification is a list of How about microns and other metrics for the ?

You would have to figure out which green would be appropriate, if you are referring to the green. A grain size of about 30,000 grit is approximately 5 microns

Can this be used to sand a 1x30 belt? How sharp would my hair be if I used this? On my sander, I use a 1x30 leather belt. ?

Without a doubt. Using tacks affixed to a 2x4 and a piece of leather as a bench strop for chisels and planer blades, I used it. I then charge the strop with buffing compound to polish it to the point that you can shave hair with it after honing it with a set of progressive Lansky diamond bench stones. While it isn't my preferred method, I am sure a sanding belt will do the job just as well.

I especially like the fact that the package appears to be a lifetime supply
5/5

In a nutshell, As a result of sharpening my knives on the strop I used the green extra fine compound. By helping the blade to get a very fine edge, it makes it razor sharp. It is a very large bar of buffing compound and it should last you a lifetime. why would I buy this if it would last so long? There were no shipping charges for the smaller bars, but they were the same price as or more expensive than the larger bars. The bar is so big that an eighth of it would last you for a few In case of a dispute, the bar can be applied directly to the strop by rubbing it on the strop and working it into it. A poster board with buffing compound used for strop honing a knife blade has even been spliced together with buffing compound. In the end, what is done is buffing compound. I rated 5 stars because I received the package in 3 days and the delivery was very fast. It works well and is priced fairly, so I would recommend it.

I needed a blade with a lot of edge for a Honing my chisels with this product has been a great experience
5/5

The feeling is that it gives them a little extra edge/sharpness. My dogs also seem to enjoy the taste, but on the downside, they go through a pound of extra fine buffing very If you get your wax eaten, you will find out quickly which one ate it. Take note that curious puppies are always on the lookout for things they can get their teeth into. I don't know. Even if you leave them thinking it's out of reach no matter how high, far, or wherever you don't want them to look. I do not think so.

Knife strops can be made out of this compound
4/5

It seems like the price is too high, as all the professional knife sharpening videos I have watched have shown that a pound of compound typically goes for only about five bucks, and even here on this very listing I have seen lesser-used grits go for only eight bucks. it would appear that the price is even steeper than it should be at 12 dollars extra for what is probably the most commonly purchased kind of It may be some professional supply outlet, but I can't figure out where the pros get theirs for five bucks a pound yet. Although I gave this five stars, the only reason I did not give it five stars was because of the price. The performance of this fine green compound is really not something to complain about. In the past, I only used a Worksharp Guided Sharpening System with my compound. However, I wanted strops that were much larger for my longer I bought these along with the Enkay 149 from a hobby shop and made a patch for it out of scrap leather A 6-pack of five I also bought some 6 ounce bars of various grits (black, brown, white, green, red, blue), which you can also find on Amazon, for experimenting with different abrasive bases. Being a wood worker by trade, I had plenty of scrap wood to use for the mounting of the strops, too, which came together beautifully when glued with Elmers or Gorilla wood glue. The fine green from the set of 6 I bought was darker and less dry (softer) than the fine green from the set of 6. Woodstock's D2902 compound is very similar to the green compound that comes with the Worksharp, and its consistency makes it easier to work into leather than Enkay's green, even without heating it or preconditioning it with Vaseline (petroleum jelly). The green is really all you need to polish the vast majority of blades, in addition to the water stones, diamond plates, or ceramic rods to sharpen the knife. Although I will say that I think black is advantageous if your blade is particularly dull or after re-blading It's possible to profile or alter the geometry of an edge so that it cuts more efficiently than the secondary bevels found Additionally, it seems to be a popular choice for sharpening knives and chisels. Brown can do practically nothing that black cannot. For blade sharpening, I can't think of anything that brown can do that black can't. The same seems to be true of green grits, compared to red and blue grits, which cut much less powerfully. While green already polishes to a mirror finish and both red and blue are expected to remove even less material, their uses seem to be limited primarily to polishing other scrap metals and for more general cleaning. It is still necessary for Amazon to update the picture. As of this moment, the pictures provided by other customers for this listing in green are more accurate and make the item look more professional than those provided by amazon for this listing in red and white.

There are three types of compound in this set black, green, and red
5/5

These were three of the items I purchased I have three types of black compound black compound, green extra fine, and red rouge. I find it to be very useful. You can prepare for the green extra fine razor sharp mirror finish with this abrasive because it's more abrasive than the green extra fine. A green extra fine buffing compound is available It took this and a leather strop for me to sharpen my survival knife to a point where I could easily shave hair with it. I'm a beginner when it comes to sharpening knives, but this worked for me. My recommendation is to do so. In addition to that, it works well as a polisher as well. The following is a rough red I have so far only used this on brass to polish it and I can definitely tell a difference between the green extra fine and the red rouge for Although both polishers are great, they tend to work differently.

I found it to be effective
5/5

I love the Woodstock D2902 1 and would recommend it to anyone. Buffing compound with a pound of extra fine grains. It allows me to put a perfect edge on all my knives, as I can slice 1/16 inch ribbons straight from paper by drawing the knife along the edge of the paper. I use a leather strop on a wooden handle and treat one side with the compound. Several of the mechanisms in machinery as well as moving parts have been polished with it. The Woodstock D2902 1- would be my recommendation The extra fine buffing compound is the best choice for anyone who wants the best finish on their metal surfaces.

If TSA guys were to see it, they would think it's a piece of plastic explosive
5/5

I don't understand why some reviewers are surprised at the size of the As long as one pound is one pound, it is one Mine came with a shrink plastic sleeve to prevent dehydration, as I imagine the device was intended. I believe it fell at the perfect point, similar to a wax chalk for It is assumed that anyone purchasing a composition of that caliber would already know how to use it, since there are no instructions included. It is not necessarily your case, so you can do some research on the Internet to discover how to utilize that (I did so and discovered that my current practice did not correspond to what I learned from what was "best"). I use it for various woodworking tools as well as stainless steel, even though it is advertised to work with stainless steel. It will be treated as if it is a portion of plastic explosive by the TSA guys.

You did a great job
5/5

I really like what she has to say. Honestly, it is the same company I have purchased from before, I just re-bought I didn't actually open THIS package yet as I had just ordered it. Despite that, I got a great reaction from the last one. It is needed for two locations, as well. It would have been more economical to buy one at a time. This is a huge ass block that will last a very long time. You may not believe it, but you can also sharpen. Those types of knives are Bushcraft knives (full tang, good By making a knife "sharp", you will be able to shave with it A sharp edge. Most of the time there is no need to waste time (and metal) removing the stones. At lunch, while watching television, or wherever you are, you can do this.
