Questions & Answers

As you advertise the 2438, why are you using this label When you've removed the higher rated battery from the kit, does that make the 22X model obsolete?

As far as I can tell, Milwaukee advertises this kit to include two batteries, one small and one with a longer lifespan. I hope that is what I received.

When it comes to polishing cars, can it be used as a buffer?

Yes, I am. In specific, this buffer would be better suited for a car's bumper area, since it's accessible from close quarters. It is going to be necessary to get a buffer large enough to accommodate a large buffing pad if you want to polish the entire car.

It may be possible to use the soft wool pressure washer/buffer blanket/pade with a string attachment with the 7" and 9" SOFT POLISHER/BUFFER BONNET/PAD?

Those features are not built into the app. There are only a few areas it can handle. If you have an area that is large, you should get a regular buffer.

What type of orbit is this? Is the drive direct or random?

As noted, I have been using it for a month and I cannot express enough my satisfaction with how well it achieves an even polish on small areas of paint. I also used it for grinding off a dirty metal engine surface before laying a gasket. Considering it wasn't random orbit, I was equally on the fence about buying it. As far as we have seen, it has not left any swirls and has not overheated the paint, especially on the slower setting (set to the slower of the two speeds).

This product is good, but not very versatile
3/5

The build is great, and I like Milwaukee's product. However, the thread size means you can only use what their company makes, and there isn't much else you can use. If you buy it, don't think you'll be able to use different attachments from other manufacturers.

For polishing or compounding your auto, it is not a good option
3/5

Although I have been satisfied in the past with Milwaukee brand tools, this tool strikes me as a "miss". My car has a lot of small, tight spaces that my DA polisher could not reach. I bought this polisher to work in those spots. This tool was insufficient for the task at hand. In addition, there is no "on" trigger lock, so the trigger must be pulled constantly. As a result, the RPM varies a lot. I prefer to be able to lock the trigger at a foreseen speed with a steady pressure on the trigger and to focus on the task at hand rather than hold the trigger at a constant speed. The polisher was used just once, and then I returned it after being extremely disappointed. The product you are looking for might not be a 3 inch DA style polisher, but it could be a device where the rotation speed can be adjusted easily and the tool will remain on without the need to pull the trigger all the time.

There is a lot I like about it, but there is room for improvement
4/5

The m12 tools I own and the years I have spent detailing led me to want such a tool. The tool overall is a solid one. Buy some quality mattresses instead, like ones by Lake Country if the included ones aren't good. Overall, it works well and seems to be of very high quality. Only one thing I don't like is the fact that there is no trigger lock that keeps the machine spinning without holding the trigger down. A lock prevents you from pushing the trigger, but it only prevents you from lighting it. Milwaukee could have easily changed the design of this product in a short time. Another thing I can't fault them for since it is clearly described is that there is no preset rpm adjustment for the By using the triggers, you can control the speed. If the option was available, I would have liked to dial in a speed, squeeze the trigger, and lock it in. It will be good if they include those features if a new model is released. I'll sell this one and buy the new one if they sell the old.

Exactly what I was looking for! I'm impressed that this tool is so powerful and useful! Worked great and was easy to use! We have a small car lot, and the product is great for small buffing jobs and headlight cleanups! It is very useful to have a second high capacity battery

This won't replace your 3 inch pneumatic, but it will reduce the amount of time you spend using it
4/5

The primary reason I purchased this is to use it on car headlights and small areas that my 6 inch dewalt is too large or my 3 inch pneumatic is too cumbersome to reach on my own. It was actually our paintless dent guy who suggested it to me, so I decided to take it for a test drive. Dewalt has always been my loyalty, I do not like having a bunch of different chargers and batteries all over, hence I have stayed away from other brands. This won't replace my pneumatic 3 inch polisher completely, but this will make me use it less often. This tool is made to be well built and has the perfect balance for me of a light weight but not cheap feeling in my hand. It has two speeds, a low sanding speed and It is enough to accomplish most jobs, but I wish there were a few more options for speed settings. It is a must to have the extended battery, and I would say that you should have at least two. It's possible for me to do about 2 The front three sets of headlights usually need to be polished heavily before it starts slowing down, and it usually takes about one hour for each of them to charge fully. In my opinion, the only main complaint I have is that it gets hot, and I mean so hot that it shuts off mid-polish. The cooling slots at the back can get blocked and clogged up especially if a hand or finger is covering them up. Having said that, coming from a dewalt family, I do recommend this tool and it is a regular tool in my The pros are It is compact, has a nice amount of torque, is very versatile, and is well built. Its shortcomings are as follows This product gets hot when it's in use
it comes with a nylon bag instead of a hard case
it has only two speed settings.

Almost didn't buy it because I had no clue what I was doing
5/5

With this, I polished up the tight corners on my boat more easily, had my kids use it to polish the edges, and then hooked up the scouring pad attachment for cleaning the edges and mating surfaces of my outdrive. I can see myself using this for a variety of other jobs. This is a very ergonomic chair.

Batteries last for a short period of time
5/5

The thing is. You can use 1 polishing headlight if you're polishing head lights The battery has two cells. Batteries are drained quite fast when they are running at full tilt. The thing to understand is that you won't be able to shine your whole car. I didn't intend for it to be used that way. Grind and sand are some of my favorite things to do on small jobs.

It is an M9 x
3/5

As this item has a 75-tooth spindle, it cannot be used with all sanding accessories except You can find standing and polishing discs, pads, and a wide variety of related equipment in the Amazon marketplace. They use 1/4-inch holes for the majority of their accessories A 20 and a A total of 24 spindle sizes are available. The sad truth is that Milwaukee locks you into using only their extremely overpriced accessories by using the 9mm x for no reason other than to maximize profits. This polisher features a 75mm threaded spindle that no other company supports except Milwaukee. You should instead purchase the competing Ryobi product. There are five slots on it - 5/16" and 7/16" This spindle has 24 spindles.
