Questions & Answers

I was wondering how this compared with a Dewalt DTP849X 7-INCH Laser Engraver A 9-inch circumference This polisher is 24 inches wide and has variable speeds. Since it's the cheaper option, would you mind giving me a few words of ?

A judgment can only be made based on one's own experience, so this is impossible I'm not exactly sure what you'd like to achieve. What do you intend to do when you become What are your plans for detailing your car, as well as your friends' or relatives' car. I am an amateur photographer. Would you be interested in using this frequently? three cars and their interiors are kept clean, polished, and sealed once they have been detailed. In no case will I let my car get to the point where I need to use a polisher. In that case, I don't intend to use it unless someone else asks me to detail their car. In the event that I were to become a professional, I would obtain a Flex 3401 VRG direct drive DA which means I could have both a rotary and a DA, but costs more than the 7424XP and the DWP849x combined. It is currently made in Germany by a Chinese company (currently owned by an American They both relate to Porter-Brown Incorporated by Stanley, Black & Decker, Cable and DeWalt are owned by the firm Neither are made in USA but in There is no difference in the country of origin, because both are made in Mexico. With the DWP849x, you can configure the tigger for variable speed so that it will run at the speed you set, and then turn it off to lock it in the full-on position (where it will run at the speed you set). Having used the DWP940x, I thought it was a very capable device, but for me it wasn't a good fit, as I wouldn't need a 7" or a 9". Twenty dollars). Using a pad that is smaller than the backing plate could cause damage to your car. There is no reason that a pad should be larger than the backing plate, but obviously there shouldn't be too much difference (such as a 3" backing plate and Porter Cable does not come with a backing plate, but when I purchased some pads, there was a special offer (from the place that I purchased it) that said you could get the backing plate "free" when you bought three For my needs (and only mine), it is worth the extra $80 for the DWP849x and I will spend the money on pads, backing plates, and products (polish, sealant, wax, decontaminates, clay bar, etc. ) Keeping in mind that you would still have to buy those. You can start with the lower cost model 7424XP if you are a complete beginner. Weighing just over 3 pounds, the DWP849x is small and lightweight. There is almost 6 lbs of weight in the 7424XP. I applied pressure instead of using my hand to apply pressure using the weight of the 7424XP because of its weight.

Is there a backing plate included with the polisher? How soon will I be able to use it?

The 7424XP does not come with a backing plate. After receiving my order, I had to pick up the plate from Home Depot before I could begin using There is only one item included in the kit

How big or small can you make the pads you can use?

A 6" pad is included as part of the package. As an option, a backing plate of 5" or a boot of 3" would also work along with suitable In addition, it can also fit 5" pads). It is not a good idea to use anything outside of that range to polish This unit MIGHT come with a carpet and upholstery brush attachment (what I use it for exclusively) that is six inches long. This is "5". Paint can be found above, if I'm not mistaken.

HONEST REVIEW OF THE REAL SITUATION
5/5

One of the hardest decisions I had to make as part of my auto detailing journey was which Dual Action Random Orbital to invest in. The first, and even the second, is hard, especially if you are upgrading from a cheap one that you have It may be possible to give you some insight into this fine machine. I do own this one and have owned it for around 6 months. I have used it to do some large time-consuming jobs but I also don't own any of the top brands like the Flex, Torque, It's been more than a decade since I turned It has a lot of things I like about it. Let me start with that. - 1) The size and weight of the baby As far as operational efficiency is concerned, the size is superb. In my opinion, I do not use the screw on handle since I often change hands. I just keep one hand around the vent at the end and one on the black side. In spite of this, it is quite flexible and comfortable, not to mention I can get into the small areas on cars like under the mirror because I am not very tall. Even though Porter Cable is a smaller company, it is a reputable network backing company.
2) It has been around a long time and is a well-supported The first ones appeared in 1905 or so, if I remember right. In addition to doing a lot of research, I found some interesting things. In terms of maintenance, it requires little to none. Three) The fact that you can set the speed by spinning a wheel is awesome. We use my friend's machine for a short time he did a 2x2 square like a month ago (he had flex but it could have been torque) and it was nice but long, I felt like I was reaching and it had a + - display. Click the mouse. I think that after spreading the product at a low speed, I want to shut it off get positioned, set it to a functional speed, and then turn it on, as this product always starts on the lowest speed setting and you have to crank it up while it's running. It is a buffer that I have loved using and am thrilled with the results I have seen since using In addition to the above criticism, there are some nagging issues as well. 1) As with every unit, regardless of the brand, it is a little tricky to control at first but its so slow that its not a big deal its just the physics behind it. ** 2) the pad that comes with it is a cheap foam pad that I personally do not use. For me, it is easier to buy pads and backing plates that have hook and loop (Velcro) connections so I do not have to use my wrench every time I It is important to note that I am not affiliated with Porter Cable or Chemical guys and was not asked to review or given anything free of charge. This is a REAL HONEST REVIEW from someone who owns the product. Whether you have questions or not, feel free to contact me!.

I found this to be a Beginner Friendly Perfect Machine
5/5

I was able to polish and wax my vehicle perfectly and I'm sure that it will continue to work in the future. The Astro 4607 5" PU Velcro Backing Pad was the perfect tool for mine. I was able to save a lot of time by using it at the end of every polish and wax job rather than trying it by hand. After using this for two hours, I was able to polish and wax my car. Unlike many other paint sprayers, the dual orbiter inside the wheel does smaller circles so that it can give a perfect finish on an all black painted car in a short amount of time. Due to the smaller size, I was able to apply adequate pressure on areas of my hood that are hard to reach with only one hand. I think this was a great starter polisher because I didn't damage my paint or make it worse for not having used a polisher before. The price was great and the results were excellent.

For the amateur car guy, this could be the game changer
5/5

My time would have been better spent on better products had I bought it years ago. In my role as an amateur detailer, I watched a few Chemical Guys videos on Youtube, followed their instructions, and was off and running. Despite its 275K miles, my 2010 Toyota looks as brand new as the day I bought it. I ordered a boat, a car and an SUV, and it took care of everything in a hurry. If you want to proceed, make sure you have the appropriate pads and compounds. Having a car with heavy swirls and oxidation, I claybarred, cut with a medium speed grinder, and then used a heavy power grinder on the tougher areas. I then polished the car and waxed it. Detailing your own boats and vehicles is well worth it if you do it yourself.

The product is great and the value is great
5/5

The product is excellent, and the value is amazing. In the world of paint correction, the PC7424 will never be out of fashion for consumers who are just starting out. This tool's durability is well known, as well as its ease of use. However, even heavy swirls and paint damage like the one that appears in the photos of our van can be corrected with this unit, which is not a forced rotation unit, but also does not cost $400+. Likewise, the results can be impressive as can be seen in the reflection on the hood of my S4. When you make heavy corrections you move a little slower, but again, if you are a hobbyist, what's a little vacation from your daily grind for you. There is a need for you to purchase a velcro backing plate in the size you choose. Throw away the white pad that comes with it when you get it, or use it around your house, but not on your car.

There are no ranges of speed to set only numerical speeds are available on control of 1 A description of an electronic variable states Set your speed dial to 2,500 The OPM statistic for the month of April is 6,800 This is misleading because all polishing and buffing compounds call for certain speed ranges, such as 1200 rpm or higher There is no way to dial in any speed range with this device, all you get are one-digit numbers A speed of 6 does not relate to a speed of 6
3/5

Unless you are going to cut (buff out scratches) or polish your car the item should not be bought For each step, you will not be able to set speed ranges recommended by the product. There is no point in using it to buff or polish a car. Buying is not a good idea It wasn't working for me, so I returned it.

When I bought this Porter-Cable Lite & Easy Machine, I was able to buff my motor home for the first time
5/5

I am 69 years old, and I had never been able to do that before. This cable consists of a 6 inch variable cable This is a speed buffer. Unfortunately, I do not have $450 to give to someone. Since I would have to spend at least $1000 to clean my motor home, I decided to take a chance and invest in my buffer. I love how easy it is to use and how light it is. At this point, I've polished half of a 40' motor home, and it looks fantastic. My Chemical Guys lines of products, as well as Meguiar's 105 & 106, have been helping me make my project look great Compounded with 205 compounds and topped off with Hi-Tech Meguiars #26 in the Tech Wax series. View it if you haven't already.
