The unit comes with one blade already installed. There are no spare parts in the package.
No, I doubt it. To leave a smooth surface, it must cut along the grain, which means the face or edge it is cutting must be free of obstructions on both ends. Trying to plane across the grain will almost certainly result in tearouts, and the spinning drum with cutting blades is set back from the front and back of the tools base, so it can't reach the corners of the cabinet opening.
Lowe's or Home Depot are good places to start.
Yes, you'd have to rub it a few times, but it'll do the trick.

Because I'd never used a planet before, I did something unusual for me: I read the manual in its entirety. After that, I used it for about an hour and a half straight, effortlessly working with pine. However, I noticed it was getting a little warm in my hands, so I took a break to read the manual to see if it mentioned anything about overheating or overuse, but it didn't, so I decided to keep working. The motor eventually began to stall, lose power, and then begin to smoke heavily. This product performs admirably right out of the box and will provide you with many years of service. However, it's constructed in the style of a toothpick diorama, and I was able to blow out the motor while working with pine. Not. Buy. This.
People complain about the lack of a sawdust collector, then complain when one is provided that it fills up in 10 seconds. I simply taped a cloth disposable vacuum cleaner bag to the exhaust port and worked for the entire day. It hasn't yet been filled! Is it possible for me to have a front knob to grip? Sure, but it's so light that you can easily control it with just one hand. br>Congratulations on your purchase; Amazon is becoming more and more appealing to me every day.
I decided to just plane away a portion of the floor surface while leaving the door dimensionally intact, so I bought this plane, it arrived in a few days, and I made a huge pile of sawdust and chips while also allowing the door to open and close normally. I use a variety of tools for a variety of tasks, and this was one of the rare occasions when the tool was the absolute KEY to completing the task quickly. Although tools are useful in many situations, the shed floor was designed to be beaten with a power plane. Every time I enter the shed, I think about it.
I bought it to save money on a Home Depot planer rental. This was well worth the money, and the boards are extremely smooth and uniformly planed. My only criticism is that the entire planer is a little bulky, so it won't work well in tight spaces. In those small spaces, I used a chisel and a sander. I used it to plane over 60 boards for a deck project and it performed flawlessly the entire time; I would highly recommend it for any deck or framing project.
This planer has made very smooth cuts so far and hasn't struggled in the least. The only issue I have is that it doesn't cover a large area, and I can't seem to make the next pass even when the one before it is running. I'm not sure if the blades aren't perfectly straight or if I just need more practice, but the machine works well and appears to be powerful enough for the job. It feels solid and well-made, so I'm going to try fiddling with the blade alignment and practicing to see if I can get better aligned swipes.
I took it out of the box, plugged it in, and it worked fine for the first 90 seconds before the motor died. There will be no more.
When I was patching my deck, I discovered that the 2X6s were a quarter-inch too big, 5. Instead of 5, you will receive 75 points. This planer came as a complete surprise; I liked the reviews and the price, so I ordered it. I had never used one before. br>br>It was quick and easy to use. I followed the instructions, which stated that I should make multiple passes rather than attempting to complete all of them at once. The sides of the deck boards were not critical in terms of finish, but they turned out beautifully. The task was completed quickly as a result of this. br>br>The tool had a solid feel to it. It was a quick and painless job. The only drawback is that the clippings fly out the side, so I could only use the planer in one direction, with the discharge facing away from me.
We had just purchased eight new interior doors and were planning to plan them by hand when I came across this electric planer on Amazon. What a savior of time! In the time it took to chisel and sand only one door, we were able to finish the majority of them. I recommend this planer because it is simple to use for a novice, it has plenty of power for the job, and it relieved our stress and stopped the arguing.
