POWERTEC Dust Port and Screw Set for PL1250, PL1251 and PL1252

This dust port was purchased after the dust port on my Harbor Freight Bauer planer broke due to me overtightening the screw that held it in place. Naturally, Harbor Freight does not sell a replacement part for this, and I was disappointed. It will be used to purchase a brand new planer. So, while looking for a replacement on Amazon, I came across this Powertec product. It was constructed in the same manner as my planer's dust port. So I decided to give it a shot and see if it would work for me. If it didn't, I'd simply return it. The Powertec dust port, much to my surprise, was a perfect fit. Even the included screws were a perfect fit.

I have yet to use the dust cover, so the five stars may be premature. However, I want to make sure that everyone knows that it fits the Bauer Planer from Harbor Freight. Except for blades, I bought the planer secondhand without the cover and haven't been able to find any replacement parts. After examining a number of planers with similar dimensions, I discovered that the powermatic and the bauer are nearly identical. If something breaks down in the future, I'll post more updates to see if all parts are interchangeable. At the time, all I needed was a dust cover.

This looks identical to the Sears Craftsman dust port that was discontinued, but the screw spacing is slightly different, preventing it from being attached. I'm sure it was done on purpose by some engineer. It was a waste of money.

This is an excellent accessory for the Powertec planer. It appears to be well constructed, attaches quickly with two screws (included), and includes a foam sealer to prevent leakage.

The vacuum adapter arrived on time, was constructed exactly as described, and performed as expected.

The food was excellent, and the service was excellent as well. When screws were missing from the box, my seller sent them out right away. This planer can shave a lot of material off at once, and my shop vac is a little underpowered, resulting in clogs. This fits perfectly and does exactly what it should, so I'm guessing it's a problem with my setup. I'll post an update once I've tweaked my setup to accommodate the volume of shaving generated by this planer.
