Questions & Answers

Is it possible for a left-handed person to use this?

I just checked mine, and it appears that the answer is no, as the right side strap is sewn to the bottom of the back plate. You could contact Makita and see what they say, or look up "left handed trimmer harness" on Google. Alternatively, I have a horse blanket and saddle repair shop down the street and bring them shoe straps, firewood canvas bags, backpacks, and a variety of other items to sew. For a small fee, someone like that could disassemble and reassemble this.

Is it causing you any discomfort in your shoulders?

Because it's a shoulder harness, the weight is distributed across the shoulders instead of the arms or hands.

Will a Black & Decker GH300 work with this? 5"1" is my height. Will this be able to be adjusted to fit my height? thanks! ?

I can't speak for the Black & Decker GH300, but my 5'0" wife can use our Jonsred brush cutter with it. It adjusts without a hitch.

ONE HUNDRED TIMES BETTER THAN THE OTHERS I'VE PURCHASED FOR TWICE THE PRICE! WAY BETTER THAN THE OTHERS I'VE PURCHASED AT TWICE THE PRICE! Don't be a dummy and buy the $15 inferior products like I did
5/5

I've worn a lot of harnesses in the past, both before and after being diagnosed with full-body osteoarthritis. This is by far the best I've ever had. Yes, it was twice as expensive as the others, but it was actually less expensive than some of the others I'd tried. At any price, it is the best design!! Putting on the less expensive harnesses used to make me dyslexic. This one is foolproof and can be put on and taken off without much thought, especially once you've got it adjusted properly. It'll never be a problem for you again. It is made of QUALITY MATERIALS and is long-lasting, comfortable, and well-engineered. Thank you again for another fantastic Makita product that works seamlessly with both my Makita and non-Makita tools.

It's a lot easier on my back to maintain the lawn
5/5

My neck is in bad shape. Carrying the string trimmer has been difficult for years since I recovered from an injury; I've tried webbing and rope, but they only made the pain worse. I saw a harness similar to this on television and decided to give it a try. br>br>I can now easily maneuver the string trimmer around the yard, thanks to the harness, which distributes the weight evenly across my shoulders and around my chest, effectively relieving the strain on my back and neck.

It's far more comfortable than the original's over-the-shoulder strap
5/5

This is what I'm using on my Stihl FS110. It fit perfectly with the standard Stihl attachment ring and required no adjustments. I've tried it with a brush cutter blade as well as a string trimmer head. It's a LOT more comfortable than the trimmer's over-the-shoulder strap. I own a horse breeding farm with 4,000 feet of fence to maintain and a mile of driveway to maintain. It's all about how comfortable you are. I'll admit that the harness is a pain to adjust, but that is part of its appeal. You can get it just right by having multiple adjustable straps. I continued to adjust the two shoulder straps until the weight was distributed evenly vertically on both shoulders. The only minor criticism I have is that because it is so stable, I can only use it right-handed. I was able to switch sides when one arm became tired thanks to the Stihl over the shoulder strap.

It greatly aids in the reduction of fatigue
5/5

This is being used with a Makita 18V power head and a variety of other accessories. The harness is extremely useful for reducing fatigue and enhancing tool control. I'm sure there are less expensive brands and models that would work just as well, but I have no complaints with this one. The hard plastic holster in which the tool clips is nice, as is the padding on the shoulder straps. It's very easy to use and comfortable.

I'm not sure why I waited so long to purchase this
5/5

To begin, I'd like to state that I don't understand the reviewer who stated that this took a long time to adjust; it only took me about 45 seconds. Is it possible that I just happened to be in the right place at the right time? I'm using it on a 13-pound Echo 56-volt cordless trimmer. In slow speed mode, the trimmer will run for over an hour, and in fast mode, it will run for about 1/2 hour; either way, you'll get a good workout. This harness is extremely comfortable and saves your back. I don't need the shield because there's no hot exhaust, but it will come in handy if I ever get around to buying a carburetor for the old McCullough. Update: On the 4th of June, 2020, I purchased a new one. My old one was destroyed in a house fire, but it was still as comfortable as before, and it only took about 30 seconds to adjust this time. Now for the not-so-fun part, 2. Weeds cover eight acres.

A Game- changer
5/5

The strain on your arms and back is greatly reduced with this harness. We love it when we use it with our Husqvarna 224L string trimmer. It's better than the harness that came with our Husqvarna 336FR brush cutter, in our opinion. It was well worth the money we spent on it. Any trimmer or brush cutter with an attachment point/ring, I assume, would work.

Saves your back! Aids in the prevention of exhaustion
5/5

Thanks for your help! I don't usually write reviews, but this back brace allows me to use my weed eater for longer periods of time while reducing back strain. I've had lumbar surgery and have cages and rods in my spine, and this harness has helped me tremendously. My height is 5'7" and I have a slim build. The straps are also adjustable and have a perfect fit on me. My husband is also 5'7" and has a wide chest, so the straps can be adjusted to fit him. This is an excellent item.

Although the harness is excellent, the connection could be improved
4/5

Except for the way it attaches to the trimmer, I like everything about this harness. Pushing the harnass lever toward the clip rather than away from it appears to be counterintuitive. It's difficult to see the trimmer's connection ring and properly seat it when the lever is pushed into the clip. It may take a few attempts to make the proper connection.
