I have updated After describing the problem and my usage, I called Powertec and they quickly agreed to send a new product along with a return label for the defective item. It increased from 2 to 5 as a result of my review. It makes a big difference to have great customer service. I ordered this planer on For six months, it was working fine, and then it started to malfunction. Sparks started shooting out of the motor suddenly. I couldn't wait to get out of there. The repair shop I need can be found online. If I buy the DeWalt instead, I may not need to take out a loan.

This planer has been well packaged (it survived the trip to Santa Claus in a big brown truck and all the elf handling it). The product was pretty much ready to use straight from the box, it needed little assembly. It took me a long time to decide on this machine. I felt that the price was reasonable, and the reviews were better than those of It was ordered with my shop vac so I can use it as a sawdust collector. It was a good product, so far, so good, I tested it with and without the collector. I hope you will want the collector, it wasn't expensive.

The price of this planer is amazing for what it offers

However, it is a bit louder than others I have used before. The results I have seen from using this planer have exceeded my expectations so far. You have minimal scrape, especially if you use the fine-toothed grinder for your final pass on both sides of the board. The accuracy and finish are great. This planer is by far the best in the market today due to its half the cost of.

A thickness planer like this is a dream come true for me. I think the only two blades are efficient for the job they do. For the value you get, it is not expensive.
