JET JWP-208HH, 20-Inch Planer, Helical Head, 230V 1PH, 5HP (708544)

I received the plane 2 days after ordering it, and the crate looked as though it had not been touched I find the quality of care that ABF freight provides to be outstanding. It appears as if the machine was flawless. A very easy to read owner's manual as well as finely machined in and out trays. The shiny mirror surface is very smooth and dull. This baby will be plugged in tonight when I go to bed. A few trial runs with hard and soft woods will be concluded before the final report is written. Exactly what I expected and it went smoothly. I will use it again once it is released. The 2nd part will be sent to you after delivery. The electrician came into this giant to wire it, so I called them in to do the repair. The machine was wired from the on/off panel to the wall plug with a 10 gauge grounded wire and a dedicated circuit of 220V with 50 Perhaps a little overkill, but it's just not worth it unless you want good, safe, and powerful current delivery. The fun part is now underway. A machine of this size is something to be respected, so a quick double check of all the parts was necessary. The machine was in operation when I loaded my first piece of red oak, 8" by 6'. This machine has the speed and absolute perfect face after 2 or 3 runs. It is really wonderful after using a 13" planer for 15 years. With 17 years of service, the machine is proving to be great, but is tiring. My experience has been with rock maple, oak, cherry, walnut, pine, etc. , and these woods all came out perfectly. All it needs is a touch of sanding with my palm sander and the wood is ready for use. Furthermore, it has a very low sound dB value. While watching this planer work, 3 of us kept a conversation while it was low. This is not a snipe product (though setting up and adjusting the entry/exit tables can be a bit of work). I have watched and used many wood planers in my 68 years of life, but this is by far the best one.

We seem to get asked this question a lot by potential sellers. I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU! What have I said about how much I love this The noise reduction alone would make this unit a good purchase for me. The bench top is significantly more than what I would pay for a $300 bench top as a small woodworking hobbyist. My enthusiasm to go to the next level of woodworking was almost crushed by that bench top planer. now you can use your own material instead of buying store bought lumber of the same thickness. Using my new gear, I can plane wood quickly and silently for a wider variety of There is nothing I hate more than having to plane lumber I'm terrified of it. Now, I eagerly anticipate using this machine as its smooth function makes it a pleasure to use. The noise I experienced with my bench top model required double protection (ear plugs and ear defenders). It was so loud that I had to wear both. You can use this unit without ear plugs, however it is not recommended . More important is that you can speak to someone in the shop while using the unit, and they can hear you (that's a safety feature! A. This page was last updated on May 21, I have had great results with this planer, and the boards have been very smooth. The purchase couldn't have gone any better for me. I highly recommend this book. As compared to the lunch box planer that I was using before, this one is considerably more quiet. My order was received on Friday the 28th, even though it was ordered on Saturday July 22nd. I had no issues with the delivery or packaging. We carried the pallet into the shed using forks and a Bobcat. As soon as the plywood crate has been removed from the pallet, you can use the lift bars (which have a collective length of 10 3/8 inches and 4 5/8 inches when closed) in the tool to move it off of it. A bobcat is equipped with movable forks that can fit under the lifting bars and slide in tight to the machine. It was easier for me than hanging the machine from the forks by straps. A mobile base was built using 3/4 plywood. The wheels were set under the corners of the tool, and they had a weight capacity of 850 pounds. In its crated form, the machine weighs 753 pounds. With a hollow base and an open bottom, the planer has a hollow base. A brand new paint job and decals have been added to this machine by There has been a yellow marking on older jet tools in the past several years You can use any kind of white paint you want. I recently bought an upgraded Jet 8 Inch HH jointer with a longer bed and bright white paint to match the new upgraded tools. Several of their older models are still on the market, but not all of them have updated paint colors. I think I would rather have a short 10 awg cord than a long one. A SOOW ( sometimes called SO) 10-pin cord can be used in place of the original. There is a 25 foot 3 AWG cord you can buy at Menards for $35. In a SOOW cable, all 3 wires have to be counted, so you need 10 (A black, a white, and a green cord). To power the 30 amp breakers in the wall, I am using 10 gauge wire. Since I am still assembling it, I have not yet used it, but I will update the review as soon as I do. Now that the fit and finish are perfect, and as I have a bit of an OCD streak, I am very pleased.

Having used the Ryobi AP1300 for a few years, I understood what a piece of junk it was. Don't get me wrong, it worked well at first, but a few years later the blades were dull and I was getting frustrated. As I walked back to my stock pile of walnuts and maples, I looked at some of my other pieces of wood that were 15" wide. A maximum of 18 inches is possible. Then I realized I didn't have the right equipment to make good use of these pieces of beautiful wood until I purchased one that could do the job correctly. It's simply the greatest invention since a slice of bread that I've gotten my hands on a JET planer now! It is an awesome machine and I have no words to adequately explain what this new jet planer can do for me. I use this planer exclusively because it will eat everything I put through it and spit out a beautiful piece of wood that almost does not need to be sanded. Yes, it is expensive, but in comparison to other planers I do not think it can be beat. Having a /br>P.
