I noticed that the gear on the handle that adjusts height fell off after 6 months of usage. I reinstalled the screw with set screw, but it wouldn't tighten because the gear was A new set of gear was ordered by Grizzly at the end of May. They're still waiting for parts and could not give a delivery For another planer, you want $300 plus $400, I'll send my back for evaluation. I will be able to get the second planning machine for free if they agree (no time frame provided). Otherwise, I would have over $800 in one machine. Get the latest Grizzly product details here! If they don't have parts, the 1 year manufacturer warranty is only good if they have it. Otherwise, be prepared to pay twice.
I wasted a lot of money on it. A piece of pine couldn't even be planed to 1/32 of a half inch with this machine. On top of that, their customer service is horrible. For over twenty years, I've worked with wood and this was one of the absolute worst purchases I've ever made.
It is a real disappointment.
