Questions & Answers

Which type of nailer has a round head and which one has a clipped head?

Nails with round heads are the traditional type, which you would find in a box of nails or a An example of a clipped head is the round head of a nail that is cut on both sides to the width of its shank. The round head does not have the same holding power as the square

Does this hammer require a lot of nails?

Using metal connector nails, the holes around the nail must be larger so they can fit properly in the holes and have the strength to hold. The nail must be longer than 2 millimeters By design, the gun cannot be fired if it is less than 1/2 inch. The only one I can find is the 1 One-half 21 degree nails are available from Amazon and Home Depot online. They are pricey, but I did find some 33 degree 1-1/2 nails on Amazon that worked! In this gun, we could fit nails up to 1/2 inch long and it would fire without any issues. In addition, I do not see any wear as a result of this. If you were using longer 33-degree nails, you are most likely not going to reach them because they would angle out of reach. My old Senco SN60 gun outperforms the new one, but is much heavier and slightly taller when compared.

What is true is that a hammer is only positive placement for nails up to 2 in. The length of the letter is 5 inches. ?

If the nail is up to 2 mm long you can use the PP tip. The length of the chain is 5". Up to three frames can be framed using this tip

Where does it get its power from? How does it operate? Does it use compressed gas or is it pneumatic or battery operated?

A pneumatic system controls it. The compressor I have been using is a 6 gal. Campbell Hausfeld with 1/4" quick disconnects set at 90 psi My air compressor runs on 100 psi for metal connectors and 16d nails without ever running out of gas. The purpose of buying it was primarily to use it for metal connectors, which it does well, but it also works great on nails as small as 6mm. The smaller nails can be pounded harder by reducing the pressure.

Are you having trouble finding the correct nails? The contact arm works fine with the nail gun, but with the smallest contact arm, it doesn't drive nails as well
3/5

There is one thing contained in this article that is not mentioned the metal connector attachment requires 23 degree nails. NAILS WITH A 21 degree angle ARE NOT acceptable. There is a 23 degree wire collated nail that you can find, but there is no plastic collated nail and the paper or wire does If you search for 21 degree plastic collated, you will find the shortest is 2 3/8 inches, which is too long to fit on a hanger. We called Stanley/Bostitch several times, both to the 800 number and multiple times to the service centers, but received I'm not sure what to do about it It says in the manual to use 23 degree metal hanger nails, but Bostitch does not manufacture 23 degree metal hanger nails at the present time or have ever produced them! You make and sell a gun for which your end users are unable to buy nails - how on earth does that work? There is a possibility that it is a way to get out of It seems that you didn't use the right nail, sorry. ".

Performance that is solid
5/5

As an amateur, I have a lot to learn Considering I am only a low-level remodeler, my tools don't get damaged as much as those used by professionals would. In addition to oiling the tool every day while I am using it, I have my pancake compressor set at 120 PSI. I have probably gone through 6,000 nails with this beast without encountering any issues that were not self-inflicted It was caused. It has never even happened to me to have a It is the plastic rafter hook on the tool that I have concerns about. It feels as if it could snap off In the metal industry- The connector - It's so handy to have an attachment like this for installing the The process of changing tips and nails is fast and easy, and using partially consumed nails has no issues A strip. The nails I am using are DeWalt. For the rest of those out there who enjoy gardening. Before buying this, my only experience with a finish nailer was using finish nailers, so I am in no position to compare this nailer, but it is rather heavy when you're tucked around studs and rafters with your arm extended out to the side. In general, nailers. It should go without saying, but if you don't already have safety glasses, get It has happened more times than I can count that plastic nailing strips have smacked me in the face.

It's a tough decision between this and the Hitachi NR90AE, but this gun is better, more durable, more versatile, and more capable
3/5

The NR90GR2 gas powered framing nailer I bought, that no matter how I tried I could never get to consistently fire nails, was replaced with this one. The 15 gauge and 18 gauge Hitachi gas nailers I owned had the same issue, not firing always. The gas, nails, and temperatures used in each were different. Keeping those guns out of your hands is the best way to do business. As soon as I threw the Hitachi across the yard, I ran to the big box store to get a rigid I enjoyed this. It's a relief that Hitachi didn't fail. I was able to use it for one. A few days of framing and siding installation before it jammed the first time too often, then a nail went through the clip and finally it broke. My next step was to go to a big box store and get a Hitachi NR90AE (I own a lot of Hitachi tools and like their customer service despite the messy gas-powered nailers debacle). There is no doubt that this gun is better in terms of feel and punch than Rigid. I used it to frame and siding the same house for a full day, without problems. A nail should be between two and three quarters inches long. It was hard not to buy this Bostitch. When I used the Hitachi, it kept nagging me in the back of my head. In my head, I kept hearing more metal hangers and punches. I have ordered it now. Let me count the ones I have. As with the Rigid and Hitachi NR90AE, it was heavily mixed used a few times a week. The metal hangers I want to use haven't arrived yet, but tomorrow I'll be hanging rafters with ties, so I'll report back then. As of today, I got to use the gun for hangers made of metal. The nails were few there were only There wasn't a single hole missed by the thing. That was very precise. That was about the extent of the fun. A nail lodged under the piston head during my last hanger, splitting the nose housing when the gun misfired. I did not mean to imply that the tip could be removed, but the housing itself. A replacement was sent to me as soon as possible by Amazon. It has been a long time since I needed metal hangers. Despite the cons above, I'm still going to use this gun as my main since I greatly appreciate the features. The other thing I have noticed since this review is that, as I alternate between the Hitachi and Bostitch, there is a bit of un-networked noise and buzzing from the Hitachi There is a sense of balance with the Bostitch thanks to the larger air filter assembly. It is also here that some of the extra weight is located. Unlike the Hitachi, when tapping a nail, the nailer's head carries the bulk of the weight, while the lower handle area barely touches the ground. As a result, the nailer can roll almost easily from side to side instead of having to move from one end to the other. This stitch can be very tough to undo. When you climb about in rafters and twist and move the gun, the weight of the Bostitch filter assembly exerts considerable effort as you rotate that handle. Thanks for reading. Hopefully that made There is a slight difference, but it is noticeable when compared to one another.

One last The Bostitch service center in my area helped me out. Apparently, they're now making all the nails guns that DeWalt makes for their line of nailers. If you're familiar with the Bostitch line of nailers, check them out yourself at a big box store. DeWalts have a lot of the same high-tech features found in Bostitch products. As you will also see, the orange big box dealer is clearing out their Bostitch line and has started carrying the full DeWalt nailer range. My purchase was a smart point stapler and 18 gauge 18 gauge stapler for 70 cents each. On clearance, the clearance rack is priced at $. 00 each. This page compares the performance of Bostitch Positive Hitachi) It's nice that the depth can be adjusted. It didn't appeal to me at first, and if you aren't careful, or if you get into a habit, you could easily set yourself up to put a nail through your hand as the depth changes. As soon as you realize that and find a way to do it, your dream becomes reality. In addition, it is dead on every time, unlike the Hitachi, which takes a twist style and is not so consistently accurate. A powerful force. There is a feeling of power emanating from this thing. There were some nails I nailed with the Hitachi that were only modestly proud. I dropped them into the ground with this nailer. This compressor is a real performer! On the other hand, this nailer cycles the compressor more rapidly, so some people may find this bothersome. A capability to sink the nail heads of joist holders. We found 1000 1s in no time at all after looking for a box of 1000. This is a 5" metal hanger nail from Bostitch that can be found My roof ties should be finished by the time I report back on how it worked. A key feature of the gun is the ability to shoot all 16 common nails. Using nails to load the magazine is different from how most other guns are loaded, and certainly different from how the Hitachi NR90AE does it. I really enjoy this style of music. It is again a matter of personal preference. It measures 16 inches in diameter. This magazine has no gimmicks or gimmicks. It contains only standard marks. When they put up the siding on my walls, they were very helpful. We have a service center near you. The distance from my residence is within 10 miles. I had Fed Ex pick up all my gas nailers from my front door for Hitachi, but they are going to be away for so long because of the shipping time. The Hitachi service centers near me are contracted out and are not genuine, like the Bostitch service centers in my area. I find this an important plus, and I'm sure everyone will have a different take on it. Here are the pros - Hitachi)* - The bulkier and heavier the better. When you want to zip along, the feel and balance are not quite as good. must remove the trigger switch from the gun and replace it with another one in order to turn on the bump fire. My opinion is that this is a real downer. It uses a bit more power to cycle the compressor. For some people with their compressors, it may present a problem, especially if they never use the extra punch, or if they don't like the metal hanger. The problems with getting service have been cited by some users.

Overall, I'm inclined to purchase this gun at this point. In order for me to change my mind when doing metal hangers, it would have to be a major pain. If I were willing to spend a bit more money then I would have looked into higher end Hitachi gun models, as the NR90AE is considered a bit of a 'lightweight' by the pros, whereas the Bostitch is considered a real weapon. The following is a status update Second nailer just did the same thing as first. To add to that huge negative issue, there was an unresolved personal issue. It is impossible to understand why anybody would think that one could switch from sequential to rapid fire by having to replace the entire trigger assembly. Is there a reason for those two tiny screws/nuts and springs on a job site? I would love to know why they were chosen for this design. As a recap, the following is true It takes 10 minutes to move from sequential to rapid firing when on hanger mode, and the gun destroys itself when it's in hanger mode. As long as you don't lose the tiny nut which, in reality, should be permanently attached to the gun, you will be able to get the gun back in working order. However, in reality, the gun ought to have a switch to quickly switch from sequential to rapid firing- just like every other nailer available. metal hanger gun and a framing nailer that are dedicated to metal hanging.

Worked well for me, very satisfied
5/5

The update is Despite using it periodically as well as owning it for about 8 months, there are no problems. There have been over 1000 nails driven so far, probably even more than 2,000. There's nothing wrong with it. The original

As of this writing, things are going well A 25" device). I've had no problems using it so far and am delighted with how it performs. It's possible to adjust nail depth more easily and more precisely, but it's not as easy as it could be. Using 70-degree daytime temperatures has been the most successful for me A 90 psi pressure for nails 2" long and an 85 psi pressure for nails 1" long The pressure for the 3 is 100 psi. You need nails that are 25" long. In the future, I will update this review once I've used it for several I have updated the 7/24 report as follows More than 1000 nails have been driven (mainly 2". and 3". With some 3" on the top, 25" on the bottom. We are having success with 0") with this tool. It would be great if it had a firing lockout when the magazine is empty as I have used it more frequently. During nailing plywood or OSB sheets of 4x8 size, it is not easy to notice when you are almost out of nails, and dry fires will leave holes in the wood that are 1/4" deep. Having a dry firing lockout on the tool would improve the tool, but it is not a major issue for framing nailers.

As far as the operating system is concerned, it shouldn't be a problem, but the photo should be OK
4/5

My package did not contain what was pictured here The F21PL I received is still an F21PL, but there is another version I am not sure which. It works fine, but you should be able to see the unit in the photo to have an idea of what it looks like. While I'm aware that some items specifically state that the photo may not be representative of the actual item, I don't remember seeing a statement like that in the description of this item. In spite of that, you have the alternative trigger assembly and the metal connector, as well as the integrated joist hanger with the tool.
