Questions & Answers

The deck joist hangers and hurricane straps can be used with this? Are there enough nail styles to ensure that I can find something that meets my needs? I appreciate it. Where's the scooter?

Use the mcn- but you may need to For the nails on the hangers, you will have to pay $250. Whenever 2 1/2 inch ones are required by code and wherever 2 1/2 inch ones are needed, those are 2 1/2 inches. Model 250 also accepts 1 1/2 inch nails, so if you only have one gun you may only need one. However, I find having two guns to be more advantageous since it allows a second person to be working. In all these tecos there are far too many nails to install. On your marks, get set, go

It is possible to use this nailer with Hardi Plank siding by driving it one inch in. Could you please explain what 1/2" nails are?

There is no question that this nailer is built for a particular purpose. Tie metal ties at the top. It would be best if you bought a siding gun if you need to do siding.

Are there any brands of nails that will fit ?

Only one BOSTITCH PT-2000 has been used by me This is MC14715- The following is a description of what 1M is about The following formulas are for inches and decimals. The Amazon listing for Paper Tape Collated Metal Connector Nails (1,000 per box) has 148 pieces. Rather than silver, they are black. None of the others have worked for me.

Has it been upgraded to include a belt hook and a rafter There is no hook in the photo, and other questions on this have been around for almost 3 years?

There is a hook attached to every gun I ordered.

Factory quality control is inadequate, which is reflected in the durability of the products
3/5

Having bought my first unit 8 years ago, I spent most of the time in the box, perhaps 500 nails had been driven We used it for a small job just to oil it and check its function before we used it for a big job. There were a few hangers that were defective in the unit. Retraction of the HAMMER is only possible when air is The nearest repair facility is 90 miles away, so it would be more practical to order a new unit. The unit arrived two days ahead of schedule, great news, don't you think? I was not as fast as I had hoped, the unit was in pieces when it arrived, it looked fine until I took it out of the box and the safety sleeve fell off. An ETA has been scheduled for a replacement unit. Neither the durability, quality control, nor the service offered by bostich products are satisfactory to me.

It worked like a charm
3/5

Since I have had this nailer for 5 years, it is used very little. The nails I have run through it have filled up a box and a half.
This equipment has spent the vast majority of its life sitting in the The nail gun was taken out today to nail five The nailer drove two nails and then stopped after oiling and loading. The only thing you need is phissshhhh, nothing else. people said it was an old trigger valve causing the leak, but it actually sounded like the CY assembly was leaking air. It costs $80. 00 plus tax and shipping to replace the entire CY assembly. Unless you drive, there is an hour-long drive one way to the nearest repair center. If you are looking for a cheap nailer, please drop me a line. The Hitachi I'm going to purchase is on its way to me.

It is an essential part of your metal to wood framing kit if you use joist hangers, hurricane clips, or other metal to wood framing components! The time I have spent installing joist hangers and hurricane clips is just sufficient to know that it is fun to hold boards with one hand while holding metal connectors with the other, and stubby nails with the third while accurately swinging a hammer with the fourth

In an effort to save money, I contacted Bostich to see if it would work on pronged truss plates like those found on most residential trusses, since my current application had truss plates below my As usual, I was informed "officially" that I would not be recommended. As a result, I gambled anyway, buying the smaller strap shot for $1. The beefier nails were purchased instead of the 1/2 inch ones. The number of nails is 148. Bostich framing nailer I am replacing is a very heavy and bulky tool. Compared to this gun it is very light weight and compact. You can easily load the game. It is easy to find the target hole when the nail extends beyond the tip, since you can merely slide it around and feel the hole when you cannot see it. As opposed to a normal nailer, with which you need to push down on the sleeve just before the nail is inserted, you need to lightly press down on the exposed nail Trigger trips are sequential, so there is no double firing. My framing nailer cannot fit 7/16 osb in a tight place, so I shot nails in the tight spot that I couldn't use my framing nailer. I used 95 psi, which is the maximum setting on my old framing nailer, to complete all of these jobs. My target was seasoned southern yellow pine and yes, I did bump most of the nails with a hammer, but a few more pounds of pressure would have been ideal (the gun's maximum pressure is 120 pounds). I completed 90 clips at a rate of 10 nails each in record time. Part of the savings came from not having to move the ladder to get in a good spot for each clip, since I could reach 24 OC from the same position and continue tying nails from there. At the end, I used 900 nails, did not experience jams or deflections, nor did I bend There is a "feature" to prevent jams (who reads instructions anyway) that prevents the gun from working when only 5 nails are left in the gun. Because the lead nail tips back into the nailer, I first thought the gun was damaged since I thought the lead nail tips would tip back into it. There was no fear, we loaded another strip behind it, and soon after the five were lined up and ready to fire. That's a nice molded case - mine had an extra cavity that was molded to hold a palm nailer, which fit perfectly into my old Senco nailer. Spending money well is a good thing. I have always heard my dad say, "Use the right tool for the job. ". It is the right thing to do too!" Believe me!.

Not to be missed
5/5

It has really helped me save a great deal of time as I recently installed over 200 rafter ties and joist hangers in the building of my own home. In terms of value, it was beyond worth the money. You will know what pressure setting you need to use once you figure out what setting you need to use. For these types of tools, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting air tool oil and using only two ounces at a time You should use 3 drops before and after you use it. Because I put in the recommended oil for each air tool, I had several air tools for many years without any problems. Trying to nail in anything by hand is a waste of time Rather than working harder, work smarter. This handy tool was a welcome addition to my toolbox since I've worked in the power lines for 15 years and I'm well aware of the stress manual labor can take on the body. The only way this will cause you regret is if a lemon ends up in your hands. This is a product I strongly.

Upon receiving my first firearm, I fitted it with a male fitting
4/5

As I inserted the male fitting into the end of the first gun I received, part of the aluminum actually broke off. The only time this has ever happened to me is in a contractor's job and I have around 15 or 16 nail guns. However, the seller sent a new one to my doorstep two days after I contacted them. With the second one, I haven't had any problems.

I like the idea
3/5

The quality of the video is terrible. Purchasing this is my second time buying it. I love how it works. The thing only stays as long as it does. There are two of these as both leak air and become useless when they break at the fitting. We just got our latest copy yesterday, and it worked well on the job site for 3 hours. When it started piling air into the air, it started snorting. There was a crack in the threaded fitting. A second time. Returning this item and getting After visiting Home Depot, I ended up purchasing a different brand of batteries (I hope the one I bought lasts longer than these did).

I think I've found the best metal connector ever
5/5

Over the past year, this product has been used at least twice a week by our crew and we've never had any issues. The smallest of spots can be accommodated by the most compact of devices. A metal connector that I have never used before is the best. We rely on 30 years of experience from a construction company and highly recommend their services.
