Questions & Answers

What country does it come from?

The PT18G is made in China to Arrow's exacting standards for quality and dependability, and it undergoes a thorough quality control inspection before being shipped.

Is it possible to use staples with this as well? Both are accepted by my other brad nailer. ?

No, I'm not convinced.

Is there a plastic case included?

I'm sorry, Elmer, but I don't believe it does. Rather than letting them sit, I always toss them myself. But I'm pretty sure it doesn't.

Is there a carrying/storage case included with this nailer (PT18G)?

I didn't get a case or any other accessories with mine. The nailer was the only thing missing.

nt50e (Arrow/Hitachi)
5/5

This Brad nailer is a spin-off of the Hitachi nt50e, which I believe is or was the most durable gun I ever had it never broke someone stole it from me about 2 years ago I have bought 3 of these models and all parts are so similar it's scary it's durable it has enough nail power for hardwoods if your using soft woods there is no adjustment on nailer you need to set compressor psi for the price I paid 2 for the same price as other top nailers that.

It would get five stars if it came with instructions
4/5

To begin with, this is an excellent resource. I'd never used a nailer before, but I needed one for some trim edging on my stairs, and I figured it would be worth it, and I'm glad I did. However, as many other reviews of this product have pointed out, the lack of instructions was by far the most frustrating aspect to deal with. I expected the packaging to be as generic as possible, but I also expected the product to come with a minimal amount of informational materials. br>br>To my shame, I had to rely on a favor from my father, whose compressor I borrowed to complete the project. a year old, observing Dad's efforts to repair the house once more. The good news is that I had the sensation of being a six-year-old. I was glad to hear that the 12-year-old was watching what Dad was doing to fix the house again, and I was glad to hear that he liked the super-duper-duper-duper-duper-duper-duper-duper-duper-du Arrow Brad Nailer is a light-weight nailer. br>br>According to other reviews, you can find the instructions/manual for the PT18G by doing a Google search, but I haven't been able to find it yet. I've found some interesting sites, including a video of a British man using the nailer well, but nothing that I need to understand how to use and care for the product. I imagine that with the "regular" packaging (rather than the no-frills packaging that I received), there might be a booklet, or what I refer to as the PT18G nailer's hypothetical rosetta stone. br>br>Now that the project is finished, I don't think I'll need to use this tool again for a while, even though I'm a complete novice when it comes to carpentry and DIY projects. I can see how more experienced DIYers would use this tool on a regular basis. It's extremely simple to use, and the light weight is a pleasant surprise. We used a framing nailer from the 1970s that weighed nearly as much as Mjolnir, Thor's hammer, several years ago when I was serving as "here, hold this" guy during the renovation of two bedrooms during my wife's late pregnancy. Of course, framing and brad-ing are two completely different jobs. The PT18G, however, appears to be helium-free. by comparison, it's quite full. br>br>At less than $60, I thought the price was also very reasonable. Because my brother-in-law owns one, I know how useful it is. Law has already borrowed it for some work in his man cave downstairs, and he appears to like it.

I've never used a pneumatic nail gun before, so there are a few stumbling blocks for the novice
4/5

My home is 108 years old, and the previous owners replaced a lot of the molding with plain 2 x 4 boards, which look cheesy and awful next to the original, more elaborate woodwork. So, throughout my room-building career, I've nailed up a lot of trim and crown molding. renovation of a room I'm a terrible carpenter, and I'm always bending nails into the wood because I hit them at an awkward angle. I've thought about renting a nail gun before, but the work has always been done piecemeal, so it didn't seem like a good investment. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try it out in exchange for a review. It came in a plain cardboard box with no paperwork at all. br>br> The lack of instructions was not an option for someone who had never used a nail gun before. I went to the Arrow Fastener website right away and requested instructions because they weren't available for download. On the plus side, they were quick to respond, and the instruction manual was sent to me via e-mail. On the down side, the information provided was a little hazy. Because they don't even explain how to load the nails, it's clear that they're designed for someone who has used a nail gun before. This is a huge negative. br>br>Also, and this was my own fault, I didn't realize I'd have to rent a compressor ($25 for four hours at Home Depot) to use it. br>br>However, once I got past those stumbling blocks, I discovered that it was incredibly simple to use and that it allowed me to finish my task (installing half moon trim around the base of my library) quickly and neatly. It's also very comfortable to hold and never jams. After overcoming some initial stumbling blocks, I've come to the conclusion that this is a solid, useful tool that I'm glad to have in my arsenal. It'll be useful in the future.
